Room was 100% and all updated. Staff very helpful and friendly. Lobby is weird and scary. When I saw it I thought it looked like a subsidized housing building. Weird maniquins, fake crystals everywhere. Bizarre!!

Brought our two girls for a beach weekend. It was our first time in Ocean City and we decided to stay at The Flanders based on reviews. Its a beautiful old building and everyone was super helpful. The reception desk immediately handed my daughters twenty ride tickets for Playland which is just steps away from the hotel. Our room was clean and with a nice table for eating and playing games. The kitchenette was perfect for making a quick breakfast in the morning. The boardwalk was just steps away and we thoroughly enjoyed the beach which was just the other side of the Boardwalk. My girls enjoyed the heated pool which had cabanas for eating and shade. We’ll definitely will return.

This is a 1920's era hotel that has updated its facilities to the 21st century. As a result it is an eclectic blend of old and new, especially the restaurant, Emily's Room. The all suite rooms are spacious and well equipped.

Stayed overnight to see a concert two blocks down. Very nice hotel that’s does a family oriented design in our room. Felt like I was at my grandmothers. Cozy. Lobby was decorated for Christmas season. Lobby does have retained its 1920’s design. Looks dated but appealing

The only reason for the downgrade from 5 star is that the heater for the pool was broken and the pool water was colder than the ocean—both of which would have caused hypothermia after full immersion.

It had a "historic" atmosphere. The ocean view was lovely. The room was more of a suite (2 rooms) plus complete kitchen--not your typical "cookie-cutter" hotel room. We could park close to the boardwalk and leave our chairs, etc. in the car. We'll definitely return next summer.

I did not like that we had to park across the street from hotel because an event was going on at the hotel. We were attending the event which is why we spent the night. Very inconvenient with luggage.

The Flanders is an historic hotel and has maintained a sense of tradition throughout. You can envision men and women dressed in fine clothing walking about the lobby, on their way to a dinner gala or an afternoon tea. The hotel still offers a supper club that you as a guest get a complimentary membership to during your stay. The staff are gracious, welcoming and highly accommodating. The rooms are bright and warm, the beds incredibly comfortable, and the kitchenette a full size galley style with everything you need. The facilities are well-kept and easy to access, and the pool is clean and surrounded by more upscale sun loungers and a few sections of outdoor couches for family gathering. The hotel is right on the OCNJ boardwalk, convenient to rides, shopping and restaurants. Bring your bikes and hop up on the boardwalk for a morning ride. We loved our stay and will definitely be back to the Flanders!

The hotel's location is great. The hotel itself is dated, worn and in need of makeover. I get it is historic but things like worn, dirty and with holes sofa cushions could be replaced. The amount spent doesn’t really align with what you would hope to be getting.

A few things were not in order. A light bulb or 2 were out. The AC did not work at all the 2nd night of our stay. They never provided me sheets for the queen sofa bed. The lanai was very disappointing. The fence around it was about 6 feet tall so we could not see anything outside of it or feel the ocean breeze I was so looking forward to. I had requested a lanai with a view of the ocean, pool, or boardwalk and received none of those. I would never stay again without being assured I would receive a patio or lanai with an actual view. The last thing of more severity, Emily's Restaurant had horrible service. The waitress advised us she was "running the show" all by herself. She was the only waitress. She was the hostess, thd busboy & water/drink server. The food was good but because she was doing all duties alone, service was slow and she was very grumpy.

Our main dissatisfaction were the beds. We stayed at lanai rooms. Both mattresses(king size and queen) were the worst ever. The minute you sit on them you sink in and edges were so bad that make you fall out of the bed. Also, we couldn’t use dishwasher. There was a leakage. Sink clogged water twice. TV had lines in it. For the price we paid, it wasn’t worth it. I wouldn’t stay there again.

What a delightful experience it was to have enjoyed the Flanders Hotel in Ocean City just as the fall season was making itself known! The whole island seems to shift gears and drives at an entirely different speed. This historic hotel is still as beautiful as ever. And our spacious suite was completely accommodating for a cozy long weekend with my wife.

I was hesitant to stay here because it looked "old" in the pictures, but let me tell you- IT WAS AMAZING! SO CLEAN, PERFECT LOCATION, HUGE room, and so much more! This amazing vacation spot will be an annual trip for our family!! We enjoyed every second!!!!

The Flanders Hotel was fabulous! Staff and management were awesome, I did not have the security deposit for the one night, they charged me only the taxes because I prepaid the hotel night. I would definitely stay again! Excellent customer service! The High Teas are just wonderful! Keep it up!

We enjoyed the history of this hotel. It’s over a hundred years old. It sits in the boardwalk area of the city. It’s very convenient to the beach, restaurants, and the major rides of the boardwalk. We visited in September when It’s a much quieter time than the summer.

We enjoyed the history of this hotel. It’s over a hundred years old. It sits in the boardwalk area of the city. It’s very convenient to the beach, restaurants, and the major rides of the boardwalk. We visited in September when It’s a much quieter time than the summer.

This was a wonderful location for our AC concert trip, the price was right, the room was wonderful, we had an ocean view, everyone was super nice, the restaurant was great, can't say enough good things, will definitely looking forward to staying here again during the summer season.

The Flanders Hotel was fabulous! Staff and management were awesome, I did not have the security deposit for the one night, they charged me only the taxes because I prepaid the hotel night. I would definitely stay again! Excellent customer service! The High Teas are just wonderful! Keep it up!

This is a 1920's era hotel that has updated its facilities to the 21st century. As a result it is an eclectic blend of old and new, especially the restaurant, Emily's Room. The all suite rooms are spacious and well equipped.

A few things were not in order. A light bulb or 2 were out. The AC did not work at all the 2nd night of our stay. They never provided me sheets for the queen sofa bed. The lanai was very disappointing. The fence around it was about 6 feet tall so we could not see anything outside of it or feel the ocean breeze I was so looking forward to. I had requested a lanai with a view of the ocean, pool, or boardwalk and received none of those. I would never stay again without being assured I would receive a patio or lanai with an actual view. The last thing of more severity, Emily's Restaurant had horrible service. The waitress advised us she was "running the show" all by herself. She was the only waitress. She was the hostess, thd busboy & water/drink server. The food was good but because she was doing all duties alone, service was slow and she was very grumpy.

The room and the service were excellent. The food was not. Solution: stay here, but eat elsewhere. The steak was a glob of fat. The pasta just tasted "weird." In the morning, the coffee and pastry was weak coffee and plastic-packaged pastry. I felt I was robbed at the restaurant, but the room was superb.

The Flanders is an historic hotel and has maintained a sense of tradition throughout. You can envision men and women dressed in fine clothing walking about the lobby, on their way to a dinner gala or an afternoon tea. The hotel still offers a supper club that you as a guest get a complimentary membership to during your stay. The staff are gracious, welcoming and highly accommodating. The rooms are bright and warm, the beds incredibly comfortable, and the kitchenette a full size galley style with everything you need. The facilities are well-kept and easy to access, and the pool is clean and surrounded by more upscale sun loungers and a few sections of outdoor couches for family gathering. The hotel is right on the OCNJ boardwalk, convenient to rides, shopping and restaurants. Bring your bikes and hop up on the boardwalk for a morning ride. We loved our stay and will definitely be back to the Flanders!

Our room felt like a basic condo with no premium finishes, loud air conditioning, poor water pressure, cheap fixtures, and a plastic bathtub surround. You'll also hear amusement park rides and screaming until 11 PM in season, even on higher floors. Service didn't match the price. Bell service is "available upon request," but at this rate, staff should proactively greet and assist arriving guests. The pool area is dated, loungers are worn, towels are thin and undersized, and pool hours (10 AM-5 PM) are surprisingly limited. The amusement park noise is constant from the pool deck as well.
