Tucked away in the quaint, Yorkshire village of Horton-in-Ribblesdale, just a short drive from neighbouring Settle and Austwick, lies the charming, three-bedroom holiday home of Rose Cottage.
Resting within a semi-rural setting within the Yorkshire Dales National Park, enjoying tranquil views of a churchyard and rolling hills on the horizon including uninterrupted views of Pen Y Ghent the first of the Yorkshire 3 peaks and the start of the walk, this delightful cottage makes an idyllic base for a family of or group of five seeking a relaxing, self-catered escape to the countryside.
Park up off-road in one of the two designated parking spots, before you enter your lovely new abode, hanging your outerwear in the porch area shortly after you step in.
Inside, you will find a collection of well-presented living spaces, including a fully-equipped kitchen where the chosen chef can get to work preparing a hearty, home-cooked dinner, whilst a living/dining room welcomes you and your loved ones to savour your meals at the dining table.
To relax, head outside with a glass of your favourite tipple whilst you soak in more of your serene surroundings on the rear porch, whilst a sitting room makes a perfect spot for you all to enjoy a film on the TV as you plan the rest of your stay.
When sleep calls, head upstairs to refresh with a bath or rejuvenating shower before you finally settle in for a well-earned rest in one of the three bedrooms, including a master bedroom with king size bed and a large, wall-mounted Smart TV!
When you're ready, head out to explore your local area.
To stock up on homely essentials, jump in the car and make the brief car trip to Austwick, where you'll find a convenience store/post office, or the historic town of Settle where you will find a range of restaurants and shops including a Booths supermarket.
Make the most of the cottage's superb location, as you make the short car journeys to the wonderful locations of Gaping Gill, Catrigg Force, Wenslydale Creamery, Ribblehead Viaduct and Malham Cove, whilst slightly further afield, Gastack Beck Waterfall, Dales Countryside Museum, and the Grassington Folk Museum are also worth a visit during your time in the park.
For memories to last a lifetime, book Rose Cottage for your next stay in Yorkshire.
Situated on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, this is arguably one of the finest areas for walking in the region. With limestone pavements and scars, caves and open moors, the area has a wealth of natural interest and there are wonderful cycle tracks and walks on the doorstep. Austwick boasts a local pub serving excellent home cooked meals and a country hotel for something a little more special, as well as a shop and Post Office for visitors' daily requirements. This quiet village is nicely off the beaten track, yet the market towns of Settle, Kirkby Lonsdale, Skipton and Kendal are all within easy driving distance.
