Om detta boende

Situated in the heart of the picturesque maritime village of Moelfre on the Isle of Anglesey in a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Bodwena is a contemporary yet cosy cottage ideal for a family or a group of 6 guests and their canine companion seeking a serene coastal escape. Bodwena is situated only paces from the shingle beach and the famous Anglesey coastal path which encircles the entire 124 mile island with it's stunning coastline directly accessible from the doorstep. Boasting a side sea view and only 2 minutes walk from the local pub/eatery, ice cream parlour and fish and chip shop Bodwena really is perfectly situated. Pull up to the property and head through the front door into the cosy living/ dining room where you will find a plush corner sofa, wood burning stove, smart TV and dining seating for 6. Here you can relax on the tasteful sofa or armchair with a good book or your favourite shows on the TV, enjoying a quiet night in. The heart of the home is undoubtedly the contemporary kitchen with sleek, stylish cabinetry, combi oven and grill and a host of appliances you can use to create delicious home cooked meals to enjoy at the dining table beside the wall mounted TV if you want a more relaxed dining experience. From the kitchen you can access the beautifully established, fully enclosed South facing garden set up for al fresco dining where you can relax with a glass of wine while children and four legged friends can play safely on the lawn after a long day of exploring the island. Parking for two cars (narrow access) is available at the rear of the property. As the evening progresses choose among 3 elegant bedrooms including a king size bed and two doubles each serviced by a sleek, modern bathroom and a convenient ground floor WC and shower room. Moelfre itself is steeped in maritime history and boasts it's own RNLI lifeboat station and Seawatch centre which shares the villages lifeboat legacy and the 1859 Royal Charter shipwreck famously reported by a young Charles Dickens. Anglesey is home to many stunning beaches each with it's own character. Reachable from Bodwena along the coastal path are Lligwy which offers year-round dog friendly golden sands with parking, toilets and a seasonal cafe whilst Traeth Bychan is a sheltered bay with a sailing club and cafe. Further along the coastal path is Benllech's blue flag awarded beach lined by a selection of cafés For those wishing to delve into the local history, a visit to the majestic Beaumaris Castle, a World Heritage site, is a must, or perhaps take a journey to the Parys Mountain Copper Mine, once the largest in the world. The island's rich heritage can further be explored at Oriel Môn, a museum that proudly displays the history and culture of Angelsey. Get closer to nature with a day trip to the stunning Plas Cadnant Hidden Gardens, a serene, verdant oasis of tranquillity, and an exemplary display of the region's natural beauty. If exploration by sea enthrals you, thrilling Puffin Island Boat trips by Seacoast Safaris should not be missed, offering opportunities to sight various seabirds and grey seals within their natural habitats. After a picturesque drive, you can reach Holy Island, a tidal island with even more historical wonders. The Menai/Britannia bridge makes it possible for you to easily access mainland Wales giving you the opportunity to explore the stunning Snowdonia national park or Zip World for the thrill seekers. No matter how you choose to spend your days, you stay at Bodwena promises a tranquil and enriching retreat amidst the enchanting landscapes of Moelfre. Moelfre, a charming seaside community with little cottages, a scenic port, a beach, lovely views of Snowdonia, a functioning lifeboat, and two excellent pubs/restaurants, is located on the lovely east coast of Anglesey. Discover magnificent cliff-top treks with breath-taking mountain views, enjoy fishing or observing sea birds, seals, or even dolphins, or visit the wildly popular local Seawatch Centre. The sad Royal Charter shipwreck in 1859 was the most recent of the village's many historical connections. Benllech, Lligwy, and the picturesque Red Wharf Bay, with its miles of open dunes and birds, are beautiful sandy beaches that are close by. A great starting point for exploring this wonderful island and stunning Snowdonia.
