There are fabulous walks from the doorstep, plus cycle hire is available one mile away, and a little further away are the Hope Valley villages of Hathersage, with its open air swimming pool, Castleton, with castle and fascinating cave systems, Edale, the start of the Pennine Way, Bamford and Hope. All of these villages offer a network of footpaths with some lovely pubs and tea rooms to sample. Chatsworth House, Stanage Edge and the National Trust owned Longshaw Estate are within driving distance, as well as the wonderful markets towns of Bakewell and Buxton.
