No staff at front desk. Had to pick phone to call staff. Pool green not maintained correctly. We only stay one night but never saw any front desk agent but when use phone to call. I plan on staying there next week. Room ok exect tub drain. Pool could not go for a swim.

Was very disappointed when we got to the hotel. It showed it had a pool, but when we arrived the pool was green and nasty. Was really looking forward to the swimming pool. No elevators to the 2nd floor which is not mentioned unless you look at the super fine print under accessibility. The Pillows really suck so make sure you bring your own, did not get a good night sleep and was super stiff the next day. ALSO BEWARE OF THE BREAKFAST. Me and my went down and ate the breakfast I had just cereal thank goodness! My wife ate the breakfast and within the hour was sick and puking it all up. I do NOT recommend this place and will NOT be staying there again. 150$ a night is far from worth it. 50$ a night and I would have expected my stay to be this bad

Staff were pleasant. Property and room was clean. Staff said the hotel was not busy but the only rooms available were on the second floor, the stairs were an easy grade but this could be a problem for someone with mobility issues as there is no elevator. Otherwise everything was fine. Breakfast was good.

The property is old but it was clean. The front desk clerk was not that happy to see guest lol. It’s so quiet there I bet guest are not plentiful. It seems like she rather watch tv then greet and be a bit more welcoming to the guest. Felt like we kept her from watching her favorite tv show. But the hotel served its purpose of a one night stay. It’s a pretty stale environment. The young man was nice. Should have took his name for the review. Not many other choices in Refugio so that’s that!

We were headed to the beach and were unable to find a room so we opt for a room close enough to drive in the next day. Found this hotel and we were pleasantly surprised! Alice greeted us at the front desk and gave us a wonderful recommendation for dinner across the street. The next morning Norma was a complete whirlwind of customer service as she maintained breakfast and took care of departing guest! I travel for work and stay in a lot of hotels. Having employees who care about their jobs is priceless and made our last minute trip to the beach on a holiday weekend well worth it! Hotel is in great condition and well- maintained. Thank you!

On our 7-day stay, the room was not cleaned, beds were not made, nor were fresh linens provided for 3 days in a row. I had to ask on the 4th day for the beds to be made and new towels to be provided. The key cards needed to be fixed on three days to open the door. The breakfast was mediocre and often was out of items. It would have been nice to have some fresh fruit available. The one day they served oranges, they were dried up and hard.

We were in Refugio for a funeral. Pastor requested a late checkout and it was granted by the night staff.. The next morning the front desk called being very rude about they don’t give late checkouts being extremely rude. Then my tv didn’t work and never got help with that.. the room was very dirty and dusty with a funky smell.. They treated US like we weren’t nothing. I’d like a refund and will never stay there again/. Not worth it

I was super sad to pay$150 a night to stay here for my MIL funeral. The room was warm and we told lady at front desk and said pretty much, oh well. E we had to buy a fan from a store down the road. The ceiling in bathroom was stained and missing tiles in wall. There’s a bug trapped behind the beds that my daughter found because she was playing. It had roaches on it. Never again.

Room layout odd. Too large for furnishings. Desk not positiond to work and watch TV. Room was so wide that sofa and bed oddly distant from TV. Felt like lots of wasted space in bathroom as well as bedroom area. Other brands have more efficient so more comfortable feeling.

We have stayed at this hotel in past but this stay was not the best . The card would not read to open the door , had to get it reset multiply times . No one came to look at it .. I would take 10mins to get into the room trying to get the card key to work .

We were in Refugio for a funeral. Pastor requested a late checkout and it was granted by the night staff.. The next morning the front desk called being very rude about they don’t give late checkouts being extremely rude. Then my tv didn’t work and never got help with that.. the room was very dirty and dusty with a funky smell.. They treated US like we weren’t nothing. I’d like a refund and will never stay there again/. Not worth it

This is one of the quietest hotels I've ever stayed at and when you're looking for relaxation and a peaceful night's sleep, that is important. The staff is kind and accommodating.

The property is old but it was clean. The front desk clerk was not that happy to see guest lol. It’s so quiet there I bet guest are not plentiful. It seems like she rather watch tv then greet and be a bit more welcoming to the guest. Felt like we kept her from watching her favorite tv show. But the hotel served its purpose of a one night stay. It’s a pretty stale environment. The young man was nice. Should have took his name for the review. Not many other choices in Refugio so that’s that!

Was very disappointed when we got to the hotel. It showed it had a pool, but when we arrived the pool was green and nasty. Was really looking forward to the swimming pool. No elevators to the 2nd floor which is not mentioned unless you look at the super fine print under accessibility. The Pillows really suck so make sure you bring your own, did not get a good night sleep and was super stiff the next day. ALSO BEWARE OF THE BREAKFAST. Me and my went down and ate the breakfast I had just cereal thank goodness! My wife ate the breakfast and within the hour was sick and puking it all up. I do NOT recommend this place and will NOT be staying there again. 150$ a night is far from worth it. 50$ a night and I would have expected my stay to be this bad

On our 7-day stay, the room was not cleaned, beds were not made, nor were fresh linens provided for 3 days in a row. I had to ask on the 4th day for the beds to be made and new towels to be provided. The key cards needed to be fixed on three days to open the door. The breakfast was mediocre and often was out of items. It would have been nice to have some fresh fruit available. The one day they served oranges, they were dried up and hard.

Staff were pleasant. Property and room was clean. Staff said the hotel was not busy but the only rooms available were on the second floor, the stairs were an easy grade but this could be a problem for someone with mobility issues as there is no elevator. Otherwise everything was fine. Breakfast was good.

It was just horrible I want a refund idk if it possible but it was just ridiculous, no one was in front desk at all and breakfast got us food poisoning. I am very disappointed

We were headed to the beach and were unable to find a room so we opt for a room close enough to drive in the next day. Found this hotel and we were pleasantly surprised! Alice greeted us at the front desk and gave us a wonderful recommendation for dinner across the street. The next morning Norma was a complete whirlwind of customer service as she maintained breakfast and took care of departing guest! I travel for work and stay in a lot of hotels. Having employees who care about their jobs is priceless and made our last minute trip to the beach on a holiday weekend well worth it! Hotel is in great condition and well- maintained. Thank you!

I thought the stay was adequate and the staff accomodating. Room was clean and tidy.I did have some issue with the continental breakfast. Not up to par. I have never had breakfast sausage sitting in water when served. Not good. and the coffeee was not drinkable.

The overall appearance of our room (#106) was clean; however, when I was barefoot I found the carpet to be moist and sticky. I took soap and a wet washcloth to my feet before slipping under the bed covers, and the white washcloth was covered in brown-black grime. To be fair, the bed sheets were crispy clean. I did mention this to Housekeeping our 1st day there. We stayed 2 nights in Refugio for a family member’s funeral and went to the breakfast area between 7:30 and 8 am, and there was very little there in the way of hot items - appearing as if restocking (or refilling syrup, bread, powdered scrambled eggs, etc.) from the initial breakfast offerings from the day’s onset was simply not an option. It almost felt as if people were being punished for not getting up earlier. (Lol) Needless to say, we will not be booking a stay there again.

Excellent staff- helpful with any need we had. Seems to be a problem here with AC units in the summer. They work and blow cold air, but it is very damp air. Everything in room including hanging clothes are damp feeling. Towels dont dry out, carpet is damp. Same for other rooms that were in our group. Staff is very nice and helpful…let’s get this AC issue worked on.

Found roaches in the room. The rooms were always wet feeling. The AC unit wasn't functioning properly to pull the moisture out of the air.
