The market town of Newport is situated in the borough of Telford and Wrekin on the Shropshire and Staffordshire border. The town origins back to the 12th century, but many of the buildings were destroyed by a major fire in the 17th century. Visitors today can enjoy a selection of pubs, cafés and restaurants, nearby are the beautiful ruins of Lilleshall Abbey.
