Surrounded by stunning countryside, this estate has a hike (“the International Appalachian Trail) just 900 meters away. The staff were incredibly polished and on top of everything. Breakfast was a stunner, with made-to-order options in addition to an extensive buffet of fresh foods and eggs. There is NO air conditioning, but the windows open quite high and most rooms have a fan (if yours doesn’t just ask, it makes a big difference)! Shea is part of concierge staff and so knowledgeable, interested and enthused, it is contagious. Dylan helped to deliver our luggage to the room and was so observant; immediately had a few missing items delivered to the room. Dinner at Cedar’s was mediocre, but the breakfasts there are to die for. Note: the pool is attached to the spa. If you wish to swim, a bathing cap is required and can be purchased for 3 Euros. The hydrospa, sauna and steam room are available whether you book spa services or not. Love the Espa products in the room and at the spa.

This place was fantastic. From the minute we arrived we had help with luggage and physical challenges. Gerard was great. The bar was also wonderful. The room was quite large as was the bathroom. Can’t wait to stay there again.

Loved everything about the Lough Eske Castle! The staff was friendly, and helpful! The dinner we had at the restaurant was delicious! They have a fully stacked bar. We really enjoyed the pool, sauna, steam room, and jacuzzi. Would definitely stay here again!!

What a wonderful stay. The room was large and comfortable. Dinner at Cedar Restaurant was very good. Don’t miss Father Browne’s down stairs. Great history through photos and Titanic connection.

Absolutely stunning hotel- definitely had the wow factor! Doorman was straight out to the car as we parked to carry the luggage in. Room was fantastic- very spacious. Lovely scented toiletries. We had dinner in the Cedar restaurant. Food was delicious and well presented. Staff very attentive. Lovely breakfast provided next morning. Spa facilities were superb. Highly recommend - the only 5 star hotel in Donegal.

Gorgeous grounds and beautiful pool and steam room. The rooms were quite warm - even in 48 degree weather. There is no AC so you have to keep windows open-but we didn't get much crosswind from that. Delicious restaurants throughout. The staff was amazing !

My wife and I stayed here for a babymoon. Our overall experience was very positive and we would stay again however, there are a few areas for improvement. We found the spa facilities lacking compared to other similarly-rated hotels: the pool temperature was rather cold and sunloungers were uncomfortable. Access to spa facilities was highly limited without paying extra (such as for the jacuzzi). Housekeeping was good, but some polishing in a few places would help. Quality of the food was excellent and staff most welcoming. Value for money overall was reasonable but not great.

The room was not cleaned. Bathroom was filthy. This was one of the expensive hotel we paid $680 for one night . We have to wait for one hour for check in. We thought we would stay in castle, no all the rooms are in side wings. We got one of the side wing room. Very disappointed. I called hotel.com right away yesterday and they tried to reach the front office but no one answered. I spoke with this front office manager today, he addressed me concerns and apologized for the inconvenience and he promised me to compensate us through the hotel.com because we don’t have any outstanding balance, can you pls follow up with them.

Google Maps spoiled our arrival as it took us in the back at and not up the main drive to the front of the hotel. The staff were very friendly but there was only one receptionist on duty and we had to wait in line for 7-8 minutes to check in (disappointing as we had already checked in online). We had a similar wait at checkout for the same reason. The room also had a couple of faults which was disappointing for this level of establishment but other than that, everything was superb. The staff were all efficient and friendly and the food in the restaurant was delicious. Such a pity that our stay was tarnished as initial impressions count for so much.

Recently stayed here 1st time 2 nights. Not really centrally located must take several dark roads many filled with potholes and some unsafe road conditions to drive back-and-forth to the center of town were the pubs and restaurants are. Had to take a taxi back-and-forth to town even though it's less than three or 4 miles they charge you $15 euro each way which comes out of 17 or 18 American US Cleanliness of the room needed a lot to be desired rug was dirty and they didn't refill the soaps or things that were necessary. After my first night things were not replenished they charged a fortune to have my laundry done almost 3, American dollars to wash a pair of underwear and shirt you up to $ 5. Staff in the breakfast we're probably one of the best, the hostess, especially she got it !!! the front desk staff seem to be not experienced, and management didn't seem to be able to watch over them , when you called from your room with simple requests , the phone rang and rang unanswered and rang and rang. . Over priced with construction going on during my stay, even though they said, there wouldn't be see the pictures, also even though the parking was convenient and I believe free, still you had to lug your own luggage across the field and stone patios to get to your car not worth it stay in town if you can.

Beautiful property but for 5 stars, little things were not up to standard. Our towel warmer barely heated and we had brown water giving out if the shower and sinks one of the two days we stayed. Even the maintenance person said to bring it up to the front desk, and when we did they only offered to refund 10% of one night. Like that's anything to compensate for been water at a 5 star hotel......

The hotel was beautiful and we did enjoy our stay, the people were all very gracious and helpful. Our particular room was outdated. Holes in the carpet and the bed itself was fraying on the floor and not comfortable. No air and no windows. They said if we were warm to open the French doors which didn’t have screens and the blackout shades blocked the air, Bathroom and storage fantastic.

Excellent stay at Lough Eske Castle. The food in the bar and service were the best. I highly recommend the chowder, huge chunks of seafood. We took the walk around the lake. Beautiful. Smells were amazing. The only thing I wished is that I could get the room cooler, it just didn’t get cool enough to sleep. A very first work problem but that would be the only drawback.

Lough Eske was stop 4 on my Ireland trip. Grounds are beautiful but keep in mind this place is pretty secluded. The room was very spacious and the bathroom was awesome. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Food and drinks at the bar were decent but included breakfast was fantastic. My only complaint is the bed and bedding. Bed mattress was not very comfortable, pillows were overstuffed, and bedding was not soft. Would recommend to friends for a 1 night stay.

This place was fantastic. From the minute we arrived we had help with luggage and physical challenges. Gerard was great. The bar was also wonderful. The room was quite large as was the bathroom. Can’t wait to stay there again.

Google Maps spoiled our arrival as it took us in the back at and not up the main drive to the front of the hotel. The staff were very friendly but there was only one receptionist on duty and we had to wait in line for 7-8 minutes to check in (disappointing as we had already checked in online). We had a similar wait at checkout for the same reason. The room also had a couple of faults which was disappointing for this level of establishment but other than that, everything was superb. The staff were all efficient and friendly and the food in the restaurant was delicious. Such a pity that our stay was tarnished as initial impressions count for so much.

The hotel was stunning. The bell hop was fantastic nicest man you ever hoped to meet truly kind, funny and helpful. The grounds were beautiful. Our room was unbearably hot, no fan to be had. we couldn't get room service no matter how many times we called. The fine dining was abysmal, the menu limited and the chicken overcooked and dry. The bar food was better. Would never pay close to $600 again for a hot room and inability to get ice delivered.

From the moment we drove onto the property grounds, and wound our way through the manicured lawns, beautiful trees and gardens, slowly making our way to the front of the castle (savoring each moment), we were smiling! We were greeted by one of the hotel staff members who kindly took our luggage and parked our car. When we walked into the castle, there were staff members lining each side of the stairwell to welcome us. We were impressed with a friendliness, the professionalism, and the knowledge of every single staff member who we encountered during our trip. The restaurant was wonderful and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. We were celebrating our seventh anniversary, and Johnny, the restaurant lead was kind enough to send over glasses of Prosecco. Recently stayed here 1st time 2 nights. Not really centrally located must take several dark roads many filled with potholes and some unsafe road conditions to drive back-and-forth to the center of town were the pubs and restaurants are. Had to take a taxi back-and-forth to town even though it's less than three or 4 miles they charge you $15 euro each way which comes out of 17 or 18 American US Cleanliness of the room needed a lot to be desired rug was dirty and they didn't refill the soaps or things that were necessary. After my first night things were not replenished they charged a fortune to have my laundry done almost 3, American dollars to wash a pair of underwear and shirt you up to $ 5. Staff in the breakfast we're probably one of the best, the hostess, especially she got it !!! the front desk staff seem to be not experienced, and management didn't seem to be able to watch over them , when you called from your room with simple requests , the phone rang and rang unanswered and rang and rang. . Over priced with construction going on during my stay, even though they said, there wouldn't be see the pictures, also even though the parking was convenient and I believe free, still you had to lug your own luggage across the field and stone patios to get to your car not worth it stay in town if you can.

Excellent stay at Lough Eske Castle. The food in the bar and service were the best. I highly recommend the chowder, huge chunks of seafood. We took the walk around the lake. Beautiful. Smells were amazing. The only thing I wished is that I could get the room cooler, it just didn’t get cool enough to sleep. A very first work problem but that would be the only drawback.

Lough Eske was stop 4 on my Ireland trip. Grounds are beautiful but keep in mind this place is pretty secluded. The room was very spacious and the bathroom was awesome. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Food and drinks at the bar were decent but included breakfast was fantastic. My only complaint is the bed and bedding. Bed mattress was not very comfortable, pillows were overstuffed, and bedding was not soft. Would recommend to friends for a 1 night stay.

My wife and I stayed here for a babymoon. Our overall experience was very positive and we would stay again however, there are a few areas for improvement. We found the spa facilities lacking compared to other similarly-rated hotels: the pool temperature was rather cold and sunloungers were uncomfortable. Access to spa facilities was highly limited without paying extra (such as for the jacuzzi). Housekeeping was good, but some polishing in a few places would help. Quality of the food was excellent and staff most welcoming. Value for money overall was reasonable but not great.

Loved everything about the Lough Eske Castle! The staff was friendly, and helpful! The dinner we had at the restaurant was delicious! They have a fully stacked bar. We really enjoyed the pool, sauna, steam room, and jacuzzi. Would definitely stay here again!!

LOVE LOVE LOVE!! I absolutely loved my stay here. The services were amazing. I arrived late in the evening and was greeted at my parked car and offered assistance with getting the luggage up to the hotel. The food in both the bar and restaurant was excellent. The room was comfy. I would most definitely stay here again and recommend to others.

Absolutely stunning hotel- definitely had the wow factor! Doorman was straight out to the car as we parked to carry the luggage in. Room was fantastic- very spacious. Lovely scented toiletries. We had dinner in the Cedar restaurant. Food was delicious and well presented. Staff very attentive. Lovely breakfast provided next morning. Spa facilities were superb. Highly recommend - the only 5 star hotel in Donegal.

Dinng experience was superb, breakfast was superb with a wide variety of foods to choose from. Peaceful, nice rooms to sitquietly with your drink and enjoy the surroundings. Pool and gym facilities used and we found these superb. Definitely a great place to stay.

We were unable to get internet service by computer or phone. A 5 star hotel needs to provide adequate coverage for its customers. The bed was really soft and not of good quality. The dinners were exceptional. Having to fight Tauck Tour Bus and wedding parties is not the experience people who want to stay in a castle want. The hotel appeared to be short staffed but the staff did get the job done. The only person I did not care for was the front desk person.
