Within a short drive you can be in the market town of Kendal and then on to Lake Windermere, where you can enjoy the Lake District National Park and all that it has to offer. Alternatively, in the opposite direction, head north to Hadrian's Wall country, with many Roman sites to visit. Journey a little south to the breathtaking Westmorland Dales National Park.
