Room has a roll a way bed in it that we didnt ask for, and it took up a lot of space. The weight room was decent but 2 of the 4 treadmills didnt work. Staff was friendly and helpful with dining suggestions.

Nice hotel with free parking and very good breakfast. well appointed and comfortable room. Only real knock it that its easy to get lost in the hotel with separate elevators depending on where you are staying.

Bed had what looked like to be ashes on the comforter. Online it says there is a $50 hold on cc for damages, etc., and it’s actually $100. No biggie, but they should fix that. The power went out 3 times Saturday night, malfunctioned the shower, so everyone in the hotel that night couldn’t shower the next morning. The pool area could’ve been cleaner. Pool was dirty. Ceiling was in repair. Paint chips on the floor.

A power outage prevented me from showering one morning, as the shower is electronically-controlled. Also, the out-of-service soda machine was an inconvenience. But overall, the hotel is an overall luxury for a budget traveler like me, a very nice old-school establishment in a pleasant neighborhood. A good value.

Not bad hotel family friendly, the pool had towels so you don’t need the ones from your room. The game room is little out dated but our kids like it. Our room was good, clean except for our bathroom there was so much hair in the drain it backed up the water the first night. All the vending machines were down. When checking in ask for towels they only put 2 in the room. The breakfast was really good my kids love it the best. And it save us money on breakfast food. We would stay here again if we had our kids

I think this was a good option for the price. The pros: The room was great, the staff was friendly, the breakfast was decent (I've had worse elsewhere!) Could improve: the parking garage was alittle confusing at first, and the pool area is very dated. Nothing in the arcade worked, which was a little sad.

Property is being refurbished which we were not aware of until we got there. We brought our teenage grandchildren who were looking forward to swimming. The pool was filthy so that didn’t happen. Breakfast was amazing! All the staff were wonderful and helpful.

Did not request any room servicing. Nice variety and friendly breakfast staff. Everything worked well. Comfortable room. Two issues: Limited WINDOW LIGHT So room a little dreary. The outside Entry Door Glass panels were disgustingly dirty. The rest of the hotel was well kempt.

Breakfast is very good. The omelette station was excellent. Shower control was good. The room they gave us wasn't cleaned at all, and we have to went down to get another room. The hotel has some funny smell as you walk in.

The hotel lobby is great, so we figured we were in for a nice stay, but the rooms were ridiculous. The sink was cracked, the tub stopper was broken, the flooring and paint in the bathroom were bubbling and peeling. The floor under the bed was filthy, and the tvs are old so there’s no ability to access apps. The front of the A/C unit kept falling off. There’s no blind in the window and the curtains are ornamental so the sun woke the kids up every morning. The room and bathroom were TINY. There was barely enough room to move around and the door nearly hits the toilet when you open it in the bathroom. The hallway smelled like weed and a woman was smoking weed right by the pool where kids were swimming. For the price I paid I was not happy whatsoever. This place is falling apart. The pictures DO NOT show the actual rooms. some part of this hotel has 4-star rooms I’m sure they’re nice, but we weren’t in them. The breakfast was good. The staff was wonderful. I liked this property but it was quite noisy throughout the night so we didn’t sleep well. The were lots of thumps, whooshes, banging, hall noise, etc. I’m not sure what was making all them noise but I assume HVAC, plumbing, etc. We also noticed the bedding was a little worn and stained. Other than that, the property was nice.

I found the hotel to be generally run-down and in need of an overall update, while the bathrooms seemed to have already been updated. The staff are not empowered to provide a quality experience. The rooms had dirty/marked up walls, the refrigerator was stuck on the coldest setting and froze my food, the AC unit was as loud as a leaf blower, and the overall condition of the furniture was poor. Importantly, I suspected that the linens had not been changed from the previous guest, as they were on inside out and looked rumpled and with use marks (makeup, dirt). I requested they were changed but they were not. You also had to request that your room be cleaned, which wasn't clear until I called to ask why room had not been cleaned. The pool area was run-down and did not inspire confidence in using. The sauna was broken and not usable. As insult to a strange experience, my personal travel toiletries (costly Aveda products) were also removed/taken from the bathroom when cleaned! I have NEVER had cleaning staff take my things, but this happened here. When I reported this to the front desk, they offered no apology or remedy, and instead put my in charge of tracking down what happened and contacting the housekeeping supervisor myself. My bill, despite being prearranged and filing the appropriate tax-exempt documentation, was processed incorrectly, requiring an additional 30 minutes to check out.I will NEVER stay at this hotel and will caution anyone else considering it.

This is a hotel that appears to be in transition. My room featured updated furniture and a very nice bathroom, but the mattress felt quite used. It was still comfortable, just the kind of used where you find yourself rolling into the middle of the bed during the night because of its worn condition. My room had a very strong chemical smell that traveled with me back home in my belongings... that wasn't so pleasant. Didn't find out until after booking that the pool and game room are closed for updating - two of the reasons I had for booking this property in the first place. Although, according to the photos of the pool area, I think I dodged a bullet there. The common areas are luxurious, open and clean, but quite dated. The area felt safe. The breakfast provided (in the former restaurant - no restaurant exists on this property which was also a surprise) was very nice and the patio was pleasant. In summary, this property is good enough... but with the continued improvements, it stands a very good chance to be a really great hotel when they're done!

The property looked dated and worn out. While the hotel was probably nice 25 years ago, it could definitely use a face lift and some renovations. However, the location was great, the room was relatively quiet and comfortable, and the breakfast was great.

Convenient location to dining options. Booked room with jacuzzi tub so husband could relax. Hot tub was nice but not much pressure from the jets. Room had no tv channel guide, nor did it have closed caption (that worked). Windows were not able to close and had large gaps allowing heat from city to get in. Had to keep curtains closed to help block the incoming humidity. No usb ports ANYwhere in the room, not even on the lamps. Room was very very dark too with few lights even if we had been able to open the curtains. They had stated they were undergoing remodeling and to excuse the mess. I had noted this from reviews over the past few months. I WISH there would have been remodeling going on as it desperately needs a lot of work but no construction or current work in process could be seen anywhere. Breakfast was delicious tho. Have to dine in the restaurant and cannot take it up to your room. But it really was good and they had a lot to choose from. Staff was friendly enough but nothing special, just ok. Asked front desk for more coffee for our room and it was only then they offered some bottle water for the room which they keep behind the desk. (Why not put it in each room?) Pool was really in disrepair but people seemed to be enjoying the water, paint was flaking off the concrete all around it tho. Would be really nice if they just did a bit of work and threw in some normal modern upgrades.

The room was nice and the bed was comfortable. The shower itself was quite nice, BUT the curtain didn't go to the floor and the water was not contained. Even using the supplied bath mat, it became soaked. The wifi was very weak.

The front staff was not welcoming at all. They were very, Very rude and once when I called the front desk to ask for towels I was hung up on. They were not helpful. When I first walked in they were arguing with customer very rudely . My wife did not want to stay there as she said it was very ghetto It is rated as a 4 star hotel but I would have rather stayed the Holiday Inn. The only reason we didn't leave is because we couldn't get our money back and we had travel 6 hours to get there and arrived late. I will never stay here again and I have told others that I recommended to stay far away! I didn't try the breakfast because I wasn't comfortable dealing with the lobby riff. Also the hotel lobby looks very out dated worn. The pictures on the internet are 10 years old.

Staff are all excellent. Very friendly and responsive. The breakfast was great- lots of options especially liked the make your own omelette station. Parking was convenient and easy. Location was good and is in walking distance of several restaurant options. Aside from the modern bathroom, which had electronic shower controls on the wall to set temperature and adjust shower head, the rest of the room was pretty standard and could have used a bit more attention. The floor was sticky and the lock on the door was loose which was promptly fixed when they were made aware of the issue. Staff really make the place standout. Overall it was an okay hotel and an affordable option for the area.

Not sure what happened to the staff at this hotel. Used to be wonderful. Worst check-in experience I’ve had in my 50 years of domestic & international travel. Manager (at front desk) is obviously not a joyful woman. I arrived shortly before the check-in time of 4pm. I was told my two reserved (and prepaid) rooms were not ready as I was early. I asked if that meant I had to wait the 10 minutes until 4pm? No, I might have to wait until 6pm but she would call me when the rooms were ready. So we waited at a coffe shop for 2 hours but never received a call. Returning to the hotel, there was another desk clerk on duty (as well as the same manager). I approached the new clerk & she promptly put us into two rooms (one handicapped). Sheesh!

Accommodations were fine. Breakfast buffet was excellent. Have issue with check-in staff smelling of marijuana. We also have 2 expensive pairs of sunglasses 'missing'. We had to keep our luggage in the storage closet before our room was ready....and haven't seen the sunglasses since we put them in there.

Absolutely horrible night staff! Hotel is in good location & decent enough rooms, has a great pool (which is why I booked for the family). Beware though... the night staff was horrible, do NOT expect a "hello", smile or any acknowledgement what so ever from the Friday overnight staff! Gentleman worker who was there in lobby sleeping after watching people struggle with their luggage at front door of hotel was also a joke as was Lady who worked front counter friday night....extremely rude, unwelcoming & uninterested in her job & bothered by your very presence. They have a parking garage which is super convenient! The room was only ok, I couldn’t connect to the WiFi. The beds are comfy and nice. One of the front desk workers was rude and acted like it was a burden for asking for more towels. We had asked for more washcloths and she said she would send them tomorrow morning at 8 AM and we did not ever receive them. The breakfast service was great.

On Friday evening my husband called the front desk to inquire about times for breakfast and where it was located and the front desk responded in the key card and hung up on my husband. He was quite confused so I called the front desk with the same two questions and the response was ' breakfast is on 1st floor hours are in key card ' then a dial tone. I liked the location in downtown Clayton, which is such a beautiful, vibrant, clean place. The parking was very convenient, and the included breakfasts were absolutely terrific. The rooms were very nice, especially the digital shower. The hotel could have done a better job cleaning the workout room, which often smelled a little like sewer, due to the bathroom toilet.

Our room was clean and comfortable. The desk staff is incredibly friendly. The breakfast was lack luster at best, but is not why we chose to stay there so not a big deal to us. It is mildly inconvenient to have to go to the desk for parking validation every time you enter/leave, but it’s wonderful to have the parking.

Clayton Plaza has one of the best breakfast buffets I’ve ever seen. Made to order omelets and waffles besides full hot and continental buffet. Hotel had a beautiful lobby and easy access parking garage which is free on the weekend. We will be back!

The hotel itself was very clean, located near professional buildings/courts and some eateries within walking distance. It was brought to the hotel maintenance person and determined we needed to be placed in another room. We expected a similar-size room as a replacement but it was a suite they put us in. Very impressive. Breakfast was good and we enjoyed the variety to select from. The process of validating our parking was also easy. I could see some modernization could still be made but it was a good place for us to headquarter for our weekend.
