Nice hotel with great views ( if you get sea view room) of the lake. The rooms facing the road will be noisy and hence when warm, will be a challenge as there is no a/c.Unfortunately the restaurant is closed Mon/Tus. - as are a lot of others in the area!! So beware arriving on these days. Breakfast was good. Drinks on the terrace is possible until 9:00pm - too early to enjoy sunset.

La propiedad indica que tiene elevador y no lo tiene, eso fue un grave problema porque mi madre no puede subir escaleras con facilidad y me dieron una habitación en segundo piso.

Die Lage direkt am See ist traumhaft. Unsere Zimmer mit Blick auf den See und die Berge war ruhig. Draußen auf der Terrasse in der Sonne zu frühstücken ist ein perfekter Start in den Tag. Es ist nur anzumerken, dass einige hoteleigene Parkplätze vorhanden sind. Diese reichen aber nicht für alle Hotelgäste. Darum sollte man das Kleingeld für die Parkuhr nicht vergessen.

Hotellet er flot placeret ned til søen. Meget charmerende. Fra hotellets restaurant kan man sidde og nyde udsigten ud over søen. Der er også en lille bron foran hotellet, hvor man kan hoppe i vandet og bade fra. Lidt længere henne ad Søvejen er der en “Strand” og bade park, hvor man for et lille beløb kan leje sig ind for en dag. Hotellet er af ældre dato og der er ingen elevator, men der er et yderst hjælpsomt personale, som gerne hjælper med at bære bagagen op til værelset. Personalet i receptionen er meget venlige og hjælpsomme. Værelset vi havde var meget småt og det var svært at komme rundt om møblerne. Værelset havde ikke aircondition, men en lille Fan, som blæste lidt luft rundt. Værelset var beliggende ud til Søvejen mod Zürich og der var meget støj. Hotellet har dog forskellige værelser. Nogle værelser er rummelige og har flot udsigt, hvilket vi burde have tilkøbt. Maden i restauranten smagte godt. Dog var servicen bland aften personalet en noget underlig oplevelse. Hvilket hotellet efterfølgende heldigvis beklagede, og opholdet derved efterlod os med en samlet god oplevelse.

Nice hotel by the lake at a quiet area but service is poor. Did I mention there is no elevator at the hotel. You have to carry all the suitcases by yourself up and down the stairs. No service provided..

Lage des Hotels und Parkmöglichkeiten sind für einen Zürich Trip mit Auto sehr attraktiv. Hotel hat viel Potential, leider ist es sehr abgewohnt. Wo man hinschaut ist etwas kaputt, staubig, dreckig oder voll von Spinnen. Kamen ins Zimmer und fanden einen Teppichboden voller Haarbüschel vor. Rezeptionistin sehr schlecht gelaunt und unfreundlich. Ich würde kein zweites Mal dieses Hotel wählen.

Lage des Hotels ist gut, direkt am See. Was es Sauberkeit angeht, da ist ganz anders. Überall Spinnennetze, getötete Mücken kleben überall,... Dusch Brause war defekt direkt am Anschluss vom Schlauch. Büffet war schwach und langweilig. Auswahl eintönig und wenig.

The hotel its self is very nice with a great location but was let down by their reservation system and poor house-keeping. The hotel contacted me a few days before my stay and said my room was not available for the first night so my wife and I would have to stay at a different hotel for one night but not to worry as it would to the same standard as the one had booked overlooking the lake. When I arrived, the only room available was a very small back room. It was disappointing to wake up on our first morning in Switzerland with no lake view, just a view of the main road! I had to ask Hotel Hirschen for a taxi to get to their hotel which I had to pay 60 CHF ($70), this was later refunded after two or three times of asking. Breakfast was lovely and the restaurant staff very pleasant and helpful. However, the house-keeping /cleaning was poor. Our room wasn't vacuumed for six days, there were cob-webs above the bed, the bottom sheet had marks on but wasn’t changed, the shower didn't drain (reported to reception) and there was food left down the side of a chair. Also it was hit and miss whether they replaced the used coffee cups, refills for the coffee machine, bottled water etc. I wouldn't bother booking a suite as these are in the roof (no elevator) and the double rooms on the first and second floors have bigger windows with better views. The hotel reception agreed with me over my concerns, they were apologetic but were reluctant to offer any solutions.

Positives: Cannot beat the ambience...hotel is set on lakeside Zurich...beautiful. When we checked in we were helped by Mario, who was extremely friendly, professional & helpful. Lobby is small & quaint adjacent to the restaurant with wood floors. Atmosphere is what you would expect from a boutique hotel, cozy but upscale. When you are not in your room you can either relax at a table outside with a glass a wine or walk a few steps to the pier & enjoy the view. Rooms had an unbeatable view of the lake, as well. Hotel restaurant has indoor/outdoor dining options & offers a varied selection with a slight emphasis on fish/seafood. Waiter was very patient when we had questions, especially since none of us speak German. We had a good breakfast that was included & the checkout process was efficient. Negatives: While the main floor of the hotel is updated & still maintains a boutiquehotel charm, the same cannot be said of the rooms. They are in need of a renovation. Furniture is tattered, carpet needs replacing & bathrooms need updating. Our beds were hard & uncomfortable, too. Also, the rooms were not dirty but there needs to be extra care in housekeeping. Cob webs and dust in crevices, for example. Breakfast selection was good but they kept running out of things & had to wait for them to refill. I enjoyed the fresh fruit, eggs with cheese & bacon but the only sweet pastry was a very mediocre croissant. Last, no elevator. Overall, we still had a pleasant stay.

The images reflect a rosier picture than reality. We booked for 4 nights but left after 3. Overall we were disappointed in this venue. The location is excellent for the view and reasonable access to Zurich, but it is an old hotel so there are limitations and the facilities and the service were subpar. On the plus side, the food was good in the restaurant and the service spotty, but on the whole the staff's attitude and demeanor ranged between indifference to ineptitude with an occasional rudeness. There was not just a little mold in the bathroom, a shower that dripped from a 6' height every 4 seconds for the entire time keeping us awake, a hot stuffy room and requests for remediation as well as additional pillows went ignored and we were just made to feel as if we were being too fussy. Great to visit for dinner with a view, but otherwise I wouldn't recommend this venue for anything more than an overnight stay driven by convenience.

Das Hotel ist wunderschön am See gelegen. Parkplätze sind wenige Meter entfernt vorhanden. Unser Zimmer war ok. Ein etwas älteres Mobiliar und es hätte etwas sauberer sein können (z.b. Staub an der Heizung, kleinere Flecken an der Bettwäsche). Wir haben uns aber trotzdem sehr wohl gefühlt und es ist ein guter Startpunkt um Zürich zu erkunden. Das Frühstück war sehr lecker und das Personal sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Alles in allem würden wir es wieder buchen.

Die Zimmer zur Straße hin sind sehr warm und man kann nachts das Fenster nicht öffnen, weil die Straße zu laut ist. Aber das Frühstück war sehr gut und man sitzt wunderbar auf der Terrasse mit Blick zum See!

This was my first time with you and I must say that the service is excellent and the staff very friendly !: my key was ready in an envelope as promised (late check in), all the instructions were clear and correct and the breakfast and check out perfect. My only regret is that my room didn't have bathroom: this was very upsetting when I arrived, around midnight. I checked again in my booking and I didn't find that important information. Hopefully I managed to find the common bathroom across my room.

The staff were very helpful. Eating on the patio overlooking the Lake of Zurich was fantastic. I had a fantastic dinner with wine made across the street, fish (perch) caught that morning, and great fresh gazpacho. The downside? I had a room on the top floor,?in the eaves. I bumped my head several times. It was also three flights of steps (I’m 74). The window was street side, with traffic noise and a fan for the heat. No elevator. Maybe getting a ‘good deal’ on Expedia wasn’t such a good deal.

Positives: Cannot beat the ambience...hotel is set on lakeside Zurich...beautiful. When we checked in we were helped by Mario, who was extremely friendly, professional & helpful. Lobby is small & quaint adjacent to the restaurant with wood floors. Atmosphere is what you would expect from a boutique hotel, cozy but upscale. When you are not in your room you can either relax at a table outside with a glass a wine or walk a few steps to the pier & enjoy the view. Rooms had an unbeatable view of the lake, as well. Hotel restaurant has indoor/outdoor dining options & offers a varied selection with a slight emphasis on fish/seafood. Waiter was very patient when we had questions, especially since none of us speak German. We had a good breakfast that was included & the checkout process was efficient. Negatives: While the main floor of the hotel is updated & still maintains a boutiquehotel charm, the same cannot be said of the rooms. They are in need of a renovation. Furniture is tattered, carpet needs replacing & bathrooms need updating. Our beds were hard & uncomfortable, too. Also, the rooms were not dirty but there needs to be extra care in housekeeping. Cob webs and dust in crevices, for example. Breakfast selection was good but they kept running out of things & had to wait for them to refill. I enjoyed the fresh fruit, eggs with cheese & bacon but the only sweet pastry was a very mediocre croissant. Last, no elevator. Overall, we still had a pleasant stay.

Very nice hotel in Meilen with friendly personnel. The room was great especially because of the view. The bathroom needs soom renovation. The highlight during my stay there is the winter garden where breakfast is served. Food was delicious and atmosphere very cozy

Leider sind die Zimmer sehr klein, bei warmen Temperaturen Aufenthalt im Zimmer unmöglich, keine Klimaanlage. Wir hatten ein kleines Zimmer mit einer Seite zur Pergola, morgens ab 6 Uhr dort sehr laut. Seitlich öffentliche Parkbuchten, bis abends mit geöffnetem Fenster ( bei Wärme nicht anders möglich) sehr große Geräuschkulisse. Personal sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Zimmerreinigung nicht zufriedenstellend. Auf Nachfrage beim Reinigungspersonal erfolgte von diesen dieNachfrage nach einem gebuchten Service oder Selfservice. Aufenthalt für eine Übernachtung ok, für länger keine Option

Lage des Hotels und Parkmöglichkeiten sind für einen Zürich Trip mit Auto sehr attraktiv. Hotel hat viel Potential, leider ist es sehr abgewohnt. Wo man hinschaut ist etwas kaputt, staubig, dreckig oder voll von Spinnen. Kamen ins Zimmer und fanden einen Teppichboden voller Haarbüschel vor. Rezeptionistin sehr schlecht gelaunt und unfreundlich. Ich würde kein zweites Mal dieses Hotel wählen.

I stayed in a long stay room for three nights. I found the staff to be very welcoming and helpful. My room looked out over the lake and was great value for money. It was easy to get into Zurich by a short bus ride and train in less than 30 minutes.

I had a bad experience on the morning to see that they were not hot water to wash mayself. When I say that to the person ( he handles the breakfast ) he said that he couldn't do anything. he did not propose other solution, ( other functionnal room available, a gesture on the bill...) considering the price I paid,it is not reasonnable. except that, the lunch was quite good, and the 2 waters were very nice.Too bad...

Nice hotel by the lake at a quiet area but service is poor. Did I mention there is no elevator at the hotel. You have to carry all the suitcases by yourself up and down the stairs. No service provided..

The images reflect a rosier picture than reality. We booked for 4 nights but left after 3. Overall we were disappointed in this venue. The location is excellent for the view and reasonable access to Zurich, but it is an old hotel so there are limitations and the facilities and the service were subpar. On the plus side, the food was good in the restaurant and the service spotty, but on the whole the staff's attitude and demeanor ranged between indifference to ineptitude with an occasional rudeness. There was not just a little mold in the bathroom, a shower that dripped from a 6' height every 4 seconds for the entire time keeping us awake, a hot stuffy room and requests for remediation as well as additional pillows went ignored and we were just made to feel as if we were being too fussy. Great to visit for dinner with a view, but otherwise I wouldn't recommend this venue for anything more than an overnight stay driven by convenience.

Wunderschöner Seeblick. herrliche Restaurantterrasse, sehr freundliche Mitarbeiter. Schönes Frühstücksbuffet. Auch das "long-stay-Zimmer" sehr sauber und gut ausgestattet. Hotel ohne Auto allerdings 20 min vom Zentrum entfernt, Bus nach Obermeilen nur alle 30 min.

We loved the location of this property and the beautiful lake views! Public transport into Zurich was very quick and easy with bus stops a minute or two from the hotel. Staff were lovely and friendly and very welcoming. Gorgeous bedrooms, comfy beds and very clean. Delicious buffet breakfast on the terrace overlooking the lake. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Muy cerca de todo, transporte público en frente. Tranquilo y muy bonito enclave junto al lago. Buen y saludable desayuno, atendido por un chico muy correcto y simpático . El chico de recepción también muy amable En general relación calidad precio muy buen para Suiza, claro😄

Das Hotel ist wunderschön am See gelegen. Parkplätze sind wenige Meter entfernt vorhanden. Unser Zimmer war ok. Ein etwas älteres Mobiliar und es hätte etwas sauberer sein können (z.b. Staub an der Heizung, kleinere Flecken an der Bettwäsche). Wir haben uns aber trotzdem sehr wohl gefühlt und es ist ein guter Startpunkt um Zürich zu erkunden. Das Frühstück war sehr lecker und das Personal sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Alles in allem würden wir es wieder buchen.

The lakeview room view was peaceful and beautiful. Comfortable bed. No help getting an early check-in was disappointing. No elevator, three floor walkup with no luggage help. TV remote did NOT work, which was frustrating. Restaurant had limited menu and like everything in Zurich, ridiculously overpriced: 80 CHF for ordinary lunch without wine for one person! But daily breakfast buffet was outstanding. 2km from Meilen train station, but infrequent bus across the street. The view and breakfast made it worth it, and hotel was a good value by Zurich standards.

The rooms facing the road will be noisy and hence when warm, will be a challenge as there is no a/c.Unfortunately the restaurant is closed Mon/Tus. - as are a lot of others in the area!! So beware arriving on these days. Breakfast was good. Drinks on the terrace is possible until 9:00pm - too early to enjoy sunset.

Schönes Hotel an sehr guter Lage - das Zimmer zur Strasse ist ziemlich laut, wir würden das nächste Mal das Zimmer zum See nehmen. Frühstück auf der Terasse mit Blick auf den See war toll.

Very nice spot on a tranquil lake with excellent staff and wonderful restaurant. Gluten-free options including bread for supper and breakfast.
Very nice spot on a tranquil lake with excellent staff and wonderful restaurant. Gluten-free options including bread for supper and breakfast.

We had a very enjoyable stay at this lovely historic hotel which is clean, tastefully decorated, spacious and has wonderful seating indoor and out to view beautiful Lake Zurich from its restaurant. Being September it was very relaxed. We enjoyed seeing people still out on the dock and in the water swimming on a gorgeous sunny warm afternoon. Dinner at the hotel was delicious and the service was great excellent and friendly. Service at the front desk when we arrived was friendly and very helpful. Our room was spacious with large windows looking out at the view of water and mountains. It was very comfortable with a comfortable bed and seating area and large bathroom with tub shower combination. Breakfast was extra good! This was the perfect stop to end our European trip and get to the Zurich airport the next day. Wish we could have stayed longer. We didn’t think to check that the hotel didn’t have an elevator so we appreciated the help bringing up our bags. Parking was across the street and over a little in a private outdoor lot but no big deal once you saw how close it was.

My preferred hotel on the lake of Zurich for many years. Nice room , great breakfast and good service. But: Very limited menue options for lunch and dinner of médiocre quality and high price. Winter menue is disappointing and same for the week

Positives: Cannot beat the ambience...hotel is set on lakeside Zurich...beautiful. When we checked in we were helped by Mario, who was extremely friendly, professional & helpful. Lobby is small & quaint adjacent to the restaurant with wood floors. Atmosphere is what you would expect from a boutique hotel, cozy but upscale. When you are not in your room you can either relax at a table outside with a glass a wine or walk a few steps to the pier & enjoy the view. Rooms had an unbeatable view of the lake, as well. Hotel restaurant has indoor/outdoor dining options & offers a varied selection with a slight emphasis on fish/seafood. Waiter was very patient when we had questions, especially since none of us speak German. We had a good breakfast that was included & the checkout process was efficient. Negatives: While the main floor of the hotel is updated & still maintains a boutiquehotel charm, the same cannot be said of the rooms. They are in need of a renovation. Furniture is tattered, carpet needs replacing & bathrooms need updating. Our beds were hard & uncomfortable, too. Also, the rooms were not dirty but there needs to be extra care in housekeeping. Cob webs and dust in crevices, for example. Breakfast selection was good but they kept running out of things & had to wait for them to refill. I enjoyed the fresh fruit, eggs with cheese & bacon but the only sweet pastry was a very mediocre croissant. Last, no elevator. Overall, we still had a pleasant stay.

Very nice hotel in Meilen with friendly personnel. The room was great especially because of the view. The bathroom needs soom renovation. The highlight during my stay there is the winter garden where breakfast is served. Food was delicious and atmosphere very cozy

Les recomiendo que en Verano tengan lo que es aire acondicionado ya que en las noches no se puede dormir muy bien por el calor. Es solo un consejo se que en Suiza no se esta acostumbrado a eso. Saludos.

We booked two lake-view rooms, which were considerably more expensive, but unfortunately they were simply not fit for purpose during the summer. The rooms became unbearably hot. On our first night, the temperature inside reached around 35°C, and the fan provided made virtually no difference. The staff had not thought to close the shutters during the day to prevent the rooms from heating up, and the first night was extremely uncomfortable. Because of the heat, we had no choice but to keep the windows open. However, there is a restaurant directly below the lake-view rooms, so we then had to deal with significant noise and constant cigarette smoke coming into our rooms. People were sitting outside smoking until around 11:30pm, despite the restaurant supposedly closing at 10pm. Even more frustratingly, some of the people smoking outside later in the evening appeared to be the restaurant's own waiters after finishing their shifts. I raised these issues with reception, but unfortunately there seemed to be very little concern or attempt to resolve the situation. Cleanliness was also disappointing. There were cobwebs all over the ceilings, which is simply not what you expect given the price of the rooms. The location itself is excellent and the lake view is lovely, but that doesn't compensate for rooms that become unbearably hot, the inability to open the windows without breathing in cigarette smoke, the late-night noise, and poor cleanliness. Would not recommend!AVOID!

Hyggeligt sted helt ned til søen. Dejlig morgenmad og god seng. Gammelt men velholdt hotel og rent. Vi spise også i restauranten, god betjening. Terrassen v. restauranten var smuk.
