Head out for the day to attractions such as Framlingham Castle, Sutton Hoo, RSPB Minsmere and Yoxford Antiques Centre and Gardens. Towns worth visiting include Leiston, Southwold, Saxmundham and Orford. If you want to have at some sports, then you've come to the right place. Watersports are available right along the Suffolk coast as well as a number of popular golf courses in Southwold, Halesworth, Thorpeness and Beccles and attractions such as Bewilderwood, Ellough Park Kart Circuit and Go Ape Thetford are also worth a visit. Saxmundham is a small market town located on the River Fromus, in the heart of Suffolk's Heritage Coast. The town is well serviced with independent shops, local museum, supermarkets and a train station, as well as art galleries, a weekly market and a farmers' market. Situated so close to the coast, Saxmundham is a great base for a seaside holiday; within easy reach of Aldeburgh and Thorpeness, as well as Dunwich, Southwold and Walberswick, you could enjoy a different coastal location each day. Also close by is the inland market town Framlingham with beautiful historic architecture, a castle and an array of independent shops. South of the town there is the well known tourist destination of Sutton Hoo, an ancient Royal Anglo-Saxon burial site. With Ipswich an easy drive south, and Norwich an easy drive north, there's so much to see and do in and around Saxmundham.
