Set right opposite the beach in the heart of the seaside town of Minehead we have Seagate Cottage, built in the 17th century this delightful topsy turvy thatched cottage has views over the bay from the lounge and first floor bedroom. On the ground floor you will find the well equipped kitchen diner with electric cooker, fridge freezer and ample dining space, the twin bedroom is on this floor as well as the bathroom which has bath with shower over, heated towel rail and the washer/dryer. Up the stairs to the first floor you will find the living room with TV, DVD player, DAB radio and CD player, open fire and sea views, the large double bedroom also has sea views and there is a separate toilet as well. Pets are more than welcome here and are treated like family with their own dog bowls and throws for them to make their stay extra comfy, there is a green area across the road and the beach opposite allows dogs from September to May plus lots of other year round dog friendly beaches nearby. The traditional seaside resort of Minehead has a great mix of small independent stores as well as larger chain stores plus plenty of pubs, restaurants, cafés and tea rooms all within a short walking distance from Seagate Cottage. For a great day out hop onto the West Somerset Steam Railway just around the corner and ride the rails through Somerset villages. Wonderful walks surround you, head up North Hill or over to Alcombe, Exmoor has miles and miles of walks as well suitable for all abilities! The wonderful medieval village of Dunster with its fabulous castle, now owned by the national trust is just a couple of miles away. A short drive brings you to the Victorian villages of Lynmouth and Lynton, famous for the Watersmeet Gorge, National Trust, Valley of the Rocks and the funicular cliff railway while Porlock and Porlock Weir hold plenty of charm and interest to those who visit the area.
