Farmhouse Cottage

A lovely stay in the Barn cottage which is extremely well equipped, and in a wonderfully peaceful environment. A very comfortably bed too. We would not hesitate in recommending the Garlic Farm for a holiday or short break.

We had a lovely stay at Barn Cottage. Excellent location for visiting anywhere on the island. Brilliant up front information about what is going on at the farm and suggestions for things to do. The on site restaurant was excellent. We loved seeing and hearing the peacocks every morning from the cottage. It wasn't the cleanest of places but by no means bad - a few cobwebs and the floor felt like it needed a better clean. Some bits looked like they needed a bit attention/maintenance to keep up appearance but in all this didn't detract from a lovely stay at the farm.

The cottage was lovely and had everything we needed for a comfortable short stay with our children. I had a welcome text to check everything was ok, so nice to know someone was at the end of the phone should we need. Good base location situated on the grounds of The Garlic Farm and the shop, restaurant, cafe and games room all came in handy. Parking was easy too. Short drive from Ryde ferry port and Sandown beach. We also had a lovely meal at the recommended The Pointer Inn pub down the road. Would stay again!

We wanted to stay on the island to visit our new Granddaughter born on the island a few weeks previously. We often use cottages for our holidays in the UK. We have had many great experiences and some not so good. The Barn was one of the best we have used. The Garlic Farm is perfect for a central location on the island with good access to all routes of exploration. The kitchen was very well equipped, the bathroom and bedrooms well laid out and furnished. The lounge area/kitchen area perfect for our family get together. We had a private garden and courtyard area where we had several visits from the Peahen and chick whilst the peacock watched from the paddock. There was a red squirrel we saw nearly every time we drove in. Although the farm is very busy during the day you are not disturbed at all. We did use the restaurant for breakfast which was very good value and delicious. We couldn't think of anything that would improve our stay and will most definitely being returning for more relaxing holidays in the future.
