Farmhouse Cottage

A lovely stay in the Barn cottage which is extremely well equipped, and in a wonderfully peaceful environment. A very comfortably bed too. We would not hesitate in recommending the Garlic Farm for a holiday or short break.

En réservant à Garlic Farm, je pensais avoir trouvé un bon camp de base pour explorer l'île de Wight. J'avais vu juste mais le site est bien plus que ça. Outre son emplacement. Proche de Newport, en pleine campagne et à deux pas de la côte Est, la ferme en elle-même est un lieu à découvrir. La documentation sir place permet de se plonger dans l'histoire de cette entreprise familiale et si vous croisez Colin (le patriarche), il aura tôt fait d'engager la conversation. Les chemins de randonnée, le restaurant qui fait la part belle à l'ail et les cottages aussi confortables que bien équipées... font de Garlic farm une adresse qu'on ne peut que recommander.

We had a lovely stay at Barn Cottage. Excellent location for visiting anywhere on the island. Brilliant up front information about what is going on at the farm and suggestions for things to do. The on site restaurant was excellent. We loved seeing and hearing the peacocks every morning from the cottage. It wasn't the cleanest of places but by no means bad - a few cobwebs and the floor felt like it needed a better clean. Some bits looked like they needed a bit attention/maintenance to keep up appearance but in all this didn't detract from a lovely stay at the farm.

The cottage was lovely and had everything we needed for a comfortable short stay with our children. I had a welcome text to check everything was ok, so nice to know someone was at the end of the phone should we need. Good base location situated on the grounds of The Garlic Farm and the shop, restaurant, cafe and games room all came in handy. Parking was easy too. Short drive from Ryde ferry port and Sandown beach. We also had a lovely meal at the recommended The Pointer Inn pub down the road. Would stay again!
