Walkers can join the South West Coastal path right from the door and the area offers superb fishing, rock pooling and paddle boarding. After which you can spend the afternoon in one of two excellent pubs, serving food in nearby Down Thomas. Just six miles away is Devon's Ocean City of Plymouth; drive to Mount Batten and get the water taxi during the summer months to arrive in style on the historic Barbican. From here it's just a short stroll to The National Marine Aquarium and a variety of restaurants and bars. The famous Plymouth Hoe holds many events throughout the year including the British firework competition and is home to Smeaton's Tower, The Royal Citadel and the Tinside Lido, an open air swimming pool. After a day in town, why not spend a day on the moors; beautiful Dartmoor National Park is also within easy reach.
