Parador de Monforte de Lemos

Very nice hotel, lovely old features which felt wonderful. Restaurant service was amazing but the food was not great hubby had a nice piece of veal shin but the suckling pig was slimy, full of fat and the skin was chewy. I sent the skin back and asked for it to be crisped up which came back very dark and charcoaled. It was better but not the best. It was almost like it had been boiled and then put in the oven briefly. Potatoes were barely cooked and only veg was green bell peppers which o don’t eat. Very disappointing. Service and breakfast the first morning was great the waitress was very friendly and attentive. Second day we were a little bit later 8.45 and the restaurant was almost full we were sat right in a corner in the extra room and forgotten about. Had some food from the buffet and our coffee still hadn’t arrived. I noticed another table ask for a pot of coffee and it was served within a few minutes I asked the waiter for coffee and it came out about 4 minutes later. The food arrived and the scrambled eggs were like a broken up omelette and chewy. Went up to get a croissant 3 times before they put some more out but they didn’t put any more pan au chocolates out so make sure you get in early for better service Amazing views and comfortable large rooms. The shower was hot but not very powerful, beds were comfortable and pillows were nice. No coffee and tea in the room. Gym isn’t very good and we didn’t bother with the pool as it was outside and didn’t stop raining

The hotel is situated in a converted historic monastery in a commanding position above the town and is quite unique. My wife and I had a very enjoyable one-night stay here as part of a driving tour of Galicia, finding it very clean and comfortable with good levels of service. The only issue we had was that as my wife is confined to a wheelchair with only one leg, we could only access the hotel via a back tradesman’s entrance and service lift as the disabled lift at the front door was not working, which was very disappointing.

El edificio es precioso, pero el restaurante no es muy bueno. No es lo que esperarías de un parador. Además, se pusieron a hacer obras y ruido a las ocho de la mañana.

Monastère converti en Parador. Très bon accueil, chambre spacieuse et confortable, bar autour du cloître. Excellents diner et petit-déjeuner dans une très belle salle. Petite détente dans le jacuzzi. Excellent rapport qualité.

Luxurious stay in former monastery was perfect! Easy, friendly check in, wonderful room and wonderful breakfast. Location can’t be beat. Parking was no problem. Lovely courtyard adjoining the bar. Interesting and beautiful building adjoining a church.

Todo estupendo, en especial la instalación que es imponente. El personal de recepción muy solicito y amable, el de hostelería pues según el momento. El gimnasio no reúne el equipamiento básico necesario.

Old convent in the top of the mountain right next to Monforte de Lemos. The nice town is a short walk downhill. Hotel needs newer tv set, rugs and curtains. Internet was weak in our room at the annex building.

Lugar con encanto. Habitacion amplia y espaciosa. Carta muy correcta. Sólo un pero, en la habitación hacia un poco de fresco.

the air condition had to be services, and even then then room was warm. there was no way to have coffee or a toast as you were forced to take the full breakfast and the cafeteria did not open until 11. AM. the restaurant choices were very limited and some foods were no longer available .sad because it's a beautiful place with a great view. the staff was nice and worked hard , but the whole place was under staffed

Prachtig uitzicht en mooi en verzorgd intérieur. Bij aankomst werd mij een gratis ontbijt beloofd, aangezien ik alleen verbleef in een 2 persoonskamer. Helaas werd deze belofte bij het uitchecken niet nagekomen en zelfs in twijfel getrokken (ofschoon mijn -Spaanstalige- reisgenoten getuigen waren geweest van genoemde toezegging)! Hierdoor werd het einde van mijn verblijf grondig bedorven!

Todo estupendo, en especial la instalación que es imponente. El personal de recepción muy solicito y amable, el de hostelería pues según el momento. El gimnasio no reúne el equipamiento básico necesario.

El parador es muy bonito todo muy bueno a excepción del servicio de desayuno que a pesar de ser necesario elegir horario se amontonan muchos y el servicio no puede atender a tanta gente. Deben mejorar la coordinación o poner más personal

Fantastic location, epic atmosphere with panoramic views - if you need a hotel in the region this is the place to book

Old convent in the top of the mountain right next to Monforte de Lemos. The nice town is a short walk downhill. Hotel needs newer tv set, rugs and curtains. Internet was weak in our room at the annex building.

Beautiful location in medieval castle atop the historic town.

On Sundays everything was close, no food near by

El parador es muy bonito todo muy bueno a excepción del servicio de desayuno que a pesar de ser necesario elegir horario se amontonan muchos y el servicio no puede atender a tanta gente. Deben mejorar la coordinación o poner más personal
