A few minutes walk brings you to the local pub and shop, whilst just a 20 minute walk takes you down to the harbour and all the amenities of this quaint seaside town of Whitby. Stroll around the quirky, narrow streets and cobbled market place, or climb the 199 steps up to Whitby Abbey, with its interesting visitors centre. There are an abundance of restaurants, tea rooms, pubs and cocktail bars to entice you and the renowned fish and chips are a must. The surrounding North York Moors and the pretty coastal villages, such as Staithes and Robin Hood's Bay are well worth visiting, as is a trip on the renowned steam railway from Grosmont.
