It has links to actor Sir Ben Kingsley. He originally rented an apartment in the village whilst working at the RSC, and this apartment was in Pebworth House that stands opposite the church. Upon achieving fame with his film role Ghandi, the actor bought the whole property from his landlady and the grounds on the proviso that he would build a cottage in the orchard for her and her family. The result is Pebworth Cottage which has mellowed over the years to be part of the village and is now, after extensive renovation, ready for guests to enjoy.
