Really nicely done up pub/hotel. The skittle alley was great fun. Friendly staff. We enjoyed a meal in the evening and also a couple of fantastic breakfasts! Lovely area too, great for a walk to see the ponies. A short drive into Southampton for some shopping, a trip to Beaulieu and stroll around lyndhurst. We had a great trip and would definitely visit again! Thank you for having us!

Room is imaginatively and elegantly furnished and decorated but in keeping with being a country inn. The rooms are all arranged around their own courtyard with a lovely tree the middle, and so they are quiet and separate from the pub even though right next to it.

This hotel was interesting. Older building, the front desk was located at the bar in the restaurant. There was a separate entrance to the rooms once you had checked in. However in attempting to leave at 7 in the morning to catch a plane, the back entrance to the parking area was blocked by a delivery truck causing us to have to walk all the way around the parking lot and then when attempting to enter through the front entrance the door was locked. Staff was very nice and helpful.

Had an enjoyable stay only let down by the fact we couldn’t eat in the restaurant because we hadn’t booked a table. Weren’t told this when we were shown round at check in. Ended up with sandwiches from Tescos hardly ideal 😕

Excellent pub and accommodation. Friendly service upon arrival. Rooms are of a good size and nicely tucked away in a courtyard. Evening meal was of good quality as was the breakfast. Highly recommended.

Myself and my partner had a lovely stay at the Huntsman. The room (Roe) in the courtyard was lovely and comfortable and the courtyard itself was an unexpected bonus. The eco-friendly toiletries were a lovely touch. My only comments would be: (i) as someone who is wheat and dairy intolerant, a better selection of fruit for breakfast would have been nice; and (ii) although the bathroom was spotless and the room was generally very clean, I did feel that the (wooden) floor had not been cleaned properly.

The room was spotless, and smelling nice like a woody piney smell (like a huntsman lodge lol), the staff were brilliant and great attention was paid to every interaction during our short stay! The restaurant food was delicious and were were given a table the last moment without a reservation (it was super packed full of people) Thank you so much, I wish all hotels were like you guys.

It’s in need of some TLC and a really good clean! The dust in the radiator / heater on the wall and the extractor fan is thick and as for the shower head, it is thick solid with limescale and rust. The toilet doesn’t flush properly and it’s generally in need of some maintenance.

Lovely location and staff was super helpful. Didn't get chance to try the restaurant but the showers, bathrooms and bedrooms was really clean. Would recommend!

Wardrobe in the room was so small, the door could not be closed because the hangers were wider than the wardrobe. Shower spilled out onto the bathroom floor making it soaking wet and slippery ( a common fault in many hotels). Food quality poor. Young, friendly ,helpful staff.

Lovely building, lovely room but decor in room was a bit tired. Dressing table light & mirror light in en-suite not working. Friendly efficient staff, excellent food. All round a wonderful stay & would recommend to others.

Place was OK, room was cold due to the radiator not working, given the temp outside it made it a little unpleasant. When asked the next day if everything was ok, I let them know. I think a sincere apology and offer of a discounted stay might have helped but it felt a little dismissive. Breakfast was good.

Brockenhurst area really lovely and the hotel nicely situated. Menu very limited and not to our taste needed more homely foods doesn’t always have to be posh food. Bed was rather uncomfortable. Brockenhurst and surrounding areas worth the visit .

Lovely stay. Great location. Had dinner and breakfast at the pub both were very good. Only slight negative was that the room was not ready when we arrived at 3.30pm and we were told would be half an hour but we could buy a drink and wait. I think as the room was delayed it would have been a nice gesture to offer us a drink, not get us to buy one. Otherwise a very good pub and excellent food!

Staff couldn't do enough to be helpful. The room was amazing with some lovely little touches, a paper, shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, hospitality tray, honesty snack box, radio, coffee maker and bath robes. Would happily visit again.

The room was spotless, and smelling nice like a woody piney smell (like a huntsman lodge lol), the staff were brilliant and great attention was paid to every interaction during our short stay! The restaurant food was delicious and were were given a table the last moment without a reservation (it was super packed full of people) Thank you so much, I wish all hotels were like you guys.

Really nicely done up pub/hotel. The skittle alley was great fun. Friendly staff. We enjoyed a meal in the evening and also a couple of fantastic breakfasts! Lovely area too, great for a walk to see the ponies. A short drive into Southampton for some shopping, a trip to Beaulieu and stroll around lyndhurst. We had a great trip and would definitely visit again! Thank you for having us!

Lovely stay. Great location. Had dinner and breakfast at the pub both were very good. Only slight negative was that the room was not ready when we arrived at 3.30pm and we were told would be half an hour but we could buy a drink and wait. I think as the room was delayed it would have been a nice gesture to offer us a drink, not get us to buy one. Otherwise a very good pub and excellent food!

Had an enjoyable stay only let down by the fact we couldn’t eat in the restaurant because we hadn’t booked a table. Weren’t told this when we were shown round at check in. Ended up with sandwiches from Tescos hardly ideal 😕

Staff were very helpful. Room was fairly small but comfortable. Breakfast took a while, but was cooked to order.

Excellent pub and accommodation. Friendly service upon arrival. Rooms are of a good size and nicely tucked away in a courtyard. Evening meal was of good quality as was the breakfast. Highly recommended.

Brockenhurst area really lovely and the hotel nicely situated. Menu very limited and not to our taste needed more homely foods doesn’t always have to be posh food. Bed was rather uncomfortable. Brockenhurst and surrounding areas worth the visit .

Wardrobe in the room was so small, the door could not be closed because the hangers were wider than the wardrobe. Shower spilled out onto the bathroom floor making it soaking wet and slippery ( a common fault in many hotels). Food quality poor. Young, friendly ,helpful staff.

The hotel was bascially good and the staff were all friendly and helpful, the room was stifling hot, appreciate we were there on the hottest day of the year, but as our room only had patio doors to open, we could not have them open overnight. A fan was provided, but really didnt make much difference. Breakfast was very good Bar was excellent The food was ok, but unfortunately the service let it down, it took 2.25 hours to get 2 courses and had waitied 20 minutes for our drinks to arrive, it only needed someone to say there could be delays then that would of helped a lot. Also, i have an issue with staff coming to the table saying Hi Guys!!

We stayed at The Huntsman for one night on the way to Cornwall. The staff were friendly and welcoming to us and the dog. The room was clean and as it was set back from the road, nice and quiet too. We didn’t eat but the food looked appetising! Overall, a great place to stop for a night or two if you’re on a mini break to the New Forest.

This is a 15th Century building with the stable block converted into accommodation. The room we occupied was very large with all the usual amenities, pristine clean with a huge comfortable bed. The breakfast menu was comprehensive as was the dinner menu. My only suggestion is that a help yourself coffee and tea facility would enhance its facilities.Excellent hotel at the price.
