For a relaxing afternoon out, Pembrey Country Park is perfect for walks with miles of sandy beach, mini train rides or the slightly more unusual activity of all-weather tobogganing. The poet Dylan Thomas is famously associated with the town of Laugharne, which boasts a grand castle perched on a low ridge overlooking the expansive Taf River Estuary.
