Within proximity you'll also arrive at Treffry Viaduct, Par beach, Hangloose Adventure, offering a wealth of outdoor activities, and the popular Eden Project, an eco-attraction, with exotic gardens and rainforest landscapes. The Luxulyan Valley, a lovely, forested valley where the river Par flows, is the village's most well-known feature. It is currently owned by a neighbourhood charity, which helps to maintain its beauty. It was included in the Cornwall and West Devon Mining Landscape World Heritage Site in 2006 and has been designated as such. The community has a granite church, a tiny store and post office, as well as a neighbourhood bar called The Kings Arms. On the Atlantic Coast Line, there is a hamlet train station that serves passenger trains between Newquay and Par. Trains departing from Par can be taken in either direction, heading north to Lostwithiel, Looe, and Plymouth, or south to Truro, Falmouth, St. Ives, and Penzance.
