Large comfortable room. Good bed. View onto meadow / field. Easy parking. Lovely touches such as lots of different high quality teabags, coffee and hot chocolate plus nice biscuits. Didn’t eat there but pub and restaurant attached with relaxed atmosphere. Staff kindly let me have a pint after pub tills were shut when I came in late. Good value and easy enough to get into Durham for a concert - all hotel options in Durham centre were over £200 for the same night. Would definitely go back.

After a hick-up with a flooded bathroom, we were given another room. Both room were nice and comfortable with easy access to the outdoors, so very dog friendly. The breakfasts are excellent and varied. We also had a. Lunch and a family meal which were very tasty. The meals were taken in a cosy dog friendly part of the establishment which definitely added to the enjoyment

Hotel was lovely, decent price as breakfast included. Easy check in/out, plenty of parking. We stayed there for the Sam Fender concert at St James Park, got an Uber eachway, 5-8 min drive.

We will certainly return. Such welcoming, friendly, helpful staff. Warm, comfortable room, no problems parking. Lovely continental or cooked breakfast option. Perfect country pub location to visit Beamish. Definitely worth another visit!

My accommodation was located in a ‘cottage’ next to the main building. The room was tired and in need of maintenance and refurbishment. The bathroom was in a poor state with a lot of mildew around the bath and above the shower. Otherwise, the room was quite comfortable apart from an annoying heater that constantly clicked. The staff were very pleasant both on arrival/checking in and also later in the restaurant. When booking, I hadn’t realised that it was a Chef & Brewer so don’t expect a reasonable level of cuisine. Breakfast was better than dinner with a good selection on offer. With a tight time constraint, service could just have been a little quicker.

The hotel was clean and tidy on arrival however, it is very outdated and definitely needs a refurb with chipping paint. The worst part was the bathroom, horrible smell and mild on the tiles in the shower. Was okay for what we needed it for but not worth the money, quite dissatisfied.

Lovely room, very clean, very comfy huge bed! Toasty and warm thankfully as it was cold outside. Staff were very friendly. Already booked to come back in December. Very happy

Poor WiFi, whistling radiator so had to turn it off in a cold room and no reception on the TV, had to wait to be asked what I wanted for breakfast! Stayed here on numerous occasions but won’t again

Nice, big family room, the only drawback is the constant banging of what must be the toilet doors below the room. Maybe some sort of padding on the door frame would be a help. Also, the bathroom windows could be better cleaned. That all said, we would stay there again.

Been using Ravensworth loyally for well over 20 years and have stayed in most rooms in the main building and outside. Staff are always fine but the accommodation over last couple of years is crying out for a complete revamp. Tired decor, bathrooms with water bubbled woodwork and marked grouting, knocked edges and chipped paintwork everywhere. That was my last stay for us until I hear it’s been overhauled.

Booked 3 rooms bed and breakfast for a family event. The rooms were spotless and comfortable. The service from the bar staff and the breakfast ladies was great. Had some very nice wine at night and a lovely breakfast in the morning. I would recommend to anyone staying in the area not looking for city centre hotels.

Good value for money, cheerful staff and a welcoming atmosphere. It was great that the room was serviced without being asked, a quality sadly lacking in a lot of places now. Brilliant value breakfast with lots of choice.

Staff were great Room was nice and comfortable We had dinner My steak was over cooked and cold I sent it back The meal was replaced and we were given the whole meal and drinks free of charge Such a kind gesture Very grateful

Have stayed a few times in the past but this time i had to wait over 10 mins for someone to check me and even then had to go to bar to ask! Shower unit is sooooo tiny difficult to get in/out of then couldn’t turn shower off so had to rush to get help. Breakfast myself and two other parties were waiting over 12 minutes for someone to come and serve us!

Large comfortable room. Good bed. View onto meadow / field. Easy parking. Lovely touches such as lots of different high quality teabags, coffee and hot chocolate plus nice biscuits. Didn’t eat there but pub and restaurant attached with relaxed atmosphere. Staff kindly let me have a pint after pub tills were shut when I came in late. Good value and easy enough to get into Durham for a concert - all hotel options in Durham centre were over £200 for the same night. Would definitely go back.

Amazing especially for the price we paid! Only about 15 mins in a taxi into the centre of Newcastle and had everything you could need. In a lovely location and even though are room faced the road, it was still really quiet. Staff were lovely and everything was very clean, would definitely stay here again if I was to visit Newcastle!

We will certainly return. Such welcoming, friendly, helpful staff. Warm, comfortable room, no problems parking. Lovely continental or cooked breakfast option. Perfect country pub location to visit Beamish. Definitely worth another visit!

Poor WiFi, whistling radiator so had to turn it off in a cold room and no reception on the TV, had to wait to be asked what I wanted for breakfast! Stayed here on numerous occasions but won’t again

Staff were great Room was nice and comfortable We had dinner My steak was over cooked and cold I sent it back The meal was replaced and we were given the whole meal and drinks free of charge Such a kind gesture Very grateful

After a hick-up with a flooded bathroom, we were given another room. Both room were nice and comfortable with easy access to the outdoors, so very dog friendly. The breakfasts are excellent and varied. We also had a. Lunch and a family meal which were very tasty. The meals were taken in a cosy dog friendly part of the establishment which definitely added to the enjoyment

Short drive to Beamish Museum. Family room was large and comfortable with lots of lovely extra touches like coffee bags and biscuits. Meal was excellent and staff were really friendly and gave great service.

Pub side very clean just need more staff on especially at night. Hotel facilities very basic and need updating, no shelf storage compartment in room so majority of clothing left in suitcase. Breakfast first morning was satisfactory but on second day we just sat there waiting. After 20 mins or so we had to grab her attention to order. We were not the only one's

We came over from Germany and having lived in the NorthEast a few years back we know about living in England. This is a well made up hotel inside a very old (probably listed) building hence has it charming quirks while coming across modern. Room clean, tea&coffee with bikkies on offer, bathroom well done (the usual damp spots, loose screws and peeled painting spots or painted shut windows give it the “character” we know, but it’s clean and has a mix tap over the sink AND bathtub/shower!) Breakfast was continental on a table guests needed to ask for refills quite a bit, but it came promptly. Ordered breakfast (full english or pancakes or scrambled egg & bread) was filling! The long weekend wasn’t cheap but we were on holiday and not on an english salary for foreigners anymore so could afford it these days! All in all we stayed 3 nights as a family of 3 and ate in the restaurant 2 evenings too which was a nice both times. Staff all friendly!

The accommodation itself is okay but my main beef is the the room toilet was terrible. It does not flush properly and slow to drain. Luckily I was out most of the time. Not impressed with the plumbing at all. Would not recommend Room 15 unless it is resolved. Put me off enough to warrant not staying again. A shame really.
