If you're a keen history lover, then you will not be disappointed with visiting Tintagel Castle, which rests on a clifftop and boasts rugged views of the coast. This castle was said to have been the birthplace of the legendary King Arthur and has a wealth of history to discover inside, whilst also discovering the hidden gem below, Merlin's Cave. Further afield is the popular St Nectan's Glen, a woodland spot which has a scenic waterfall and plenty of trails for those looking to explore the nearby region. Head South along the path and travel one of the most stunning walks of the whole coastal path taking you through 8 valleys to arrive at Port Gaverne or a short hop next door to Port Isaac - please note this walk requires walking boots and is very strenuous and will take 4-5 hours. Moreover, if you happen to be bringing a dog, Trebarwith Strand Beach (Dog friendly) is situated within a couple of miles, with a wonderful establishment by the name of Port WIlliam (Dog friendly pub) overlooking the beach. Further afield are the surfing meccas of Newquay and Bude, with their resort attractions, while the open spaces of Bodmin Moor, the Eden Project, Padstow and the Camel Estuary are all within a 40-minute drive.
