Within reach is the beautiful lakeside village of Pooley Bridge, which is set on the shores of Ullswater and is just a 20 minute drive away. This pretty village sits at the top of Ullswater from where the steamers depart to take you on a mesmerising cruise down the lake through Paterdale. The stunning Aira Force Falls are also in this scenic dale and make a great destination for a walk followed by a picnic.
