The elegant market town of Pershore, on the River Avon, is a short drive away, boasting Georgian architecture, a medieval Abbey and many shops, restaurants and traditional inns. Close by is the riverside town of Upton on Severn with its' flourishing marina, half-timbered buildings, music and water festivals, and popular local vineyard. The magnificent Malvern Hills and Stratford-upon-Avon, birthplace of Shakespeare, numerous National Trust properties, Cheltenham Racecourse and ancient mellow Cotswold villages are also within easy reach.
