I like to review more things than most, we used to own an AirBnB, so I know what folks want to know about. This hotel is right off the I-8, so it is a great stop off place, so much more affordable than San Diego, yet so convenient. When we first walked into the room, we thought it was dark, but the furniture all looks new. The bedding is very nice, and the room was super clean. The bathroom and vanity area are very nice, and new looking, and so is the shower stall and shower curtain. We were on second floor, so those rooms are carpeted, the carpet was very clean. Out back, there is a lovely area with a relaxing seating area with waterfall. pond, barbeque and firepit. Tables/chairs to make dinner and sit out with the kids. There are a LOT of eateries within walking distance, with a great brewery nearby. Barons Market is within walking distance, which is fabulous, you can get everything you need to BBQ, at hotel. Great for families, breakfast was good, didn't go in pool, but peeps in there were having fun!

This hotel is a hidden gem in East County. Check in was seamless, our room was clean, beds comfortable, and even though it's close to the freeway, there was minimal noise. The breakfast was ample and was not disgusting like a lot of places, and there were many different selections. (For those with allergies or dietary restrictions, shame on you for "expecting" a place with a basic breakfast to cater to you and giving less stars.) Our kids went in the pool, which was nice and clean, and then later in the evening we sat around the fire pit and my husband grilled steak on the community grill. We ate at one of the picnic tables outside. All were clean and in good condition. This hotel is in the back of a shopping center, which has several delicious dining options, as well as other places right up the street. (I HIGHLY recommend Panda Machi which is right in front of the lodge.) We used to live right by here but never had reason to stay in the lodge. This will be our new go-to place to stay when we visit, for sure.

I was looking forward to the Jacuzzi advertized on Expedia, but it was under renovations. Expedia charged me more than 20% over the Hotel rate. I had been charged both fees, but the Lodge staff reimbirsed me the hotel fee when i told them i had been double charged. I wish i would have kept the hotel charge and asked Expedia to reimburse me the higher amount. The I make is to call the hotel before booking.

We stayed at this lodge for a concert at the casino. They provided a free shuttle there and back. Offered a nice breakfast in the morning. We used the pool which was also nice. Lots of places to eat in the area and it’s right off the freeway.

Hotel staff needs to focus on cleanliness of the room’s. Floors were dusty & dirty even after housekeeping cleaned the room. Room overall was dusty, they were lacking in cleaning. Tubs were dirty, dirt & gross red grime behind toilet even after the housekeeping cleaned, which means they are not doing a deep or thorough clean. This is very unhygienic and unsanitary.

I booked a suite which was a room with a couch but very small in size. If the couch is opened up there is absolutely no room to move. Room seemed dingy. Breakfast was not worth eating, other than the biscuits which were delicious. Room was overpriced.

Great location on the way to San Diego from Phoenix. Nice back area and pool. The room was a bit outdated and in need of an update. The breakfast was okay. I would stay again for the price.

Horrible stay this is a motel that was advertised as a decent lodge with 9.2 rating and great pictures but the reality was brutal when we arrived late night at 2am and had not choice but to stay in super outdated motel with a broken AC unit.Super surprising because the Ayres hotel owns the property

Room was clean and comfortable and well-maintained. Fridge was quiet. Front desk staff was friendly. It’s next to the highway so you hear that. My room (213) was called a “suite” but it was a regular sized room with a sofa.

Everyone was great and the room was very clean. It's basically a nice motel, but I had zero soundproofing. I was up all night listening to people having fun upstairs, walking around, slamming doors and even them walking down the stairs was loud. Great option for kids and dogs tho which I have neither. Great location, easily walkable..

This was a very unfortunate experience. Check in took almost an your and we were the only ones at lobby. They said they were fully booked and then, gave us a used room that defnitely has not been clean. Surroundings are beautiful but please do not stay here. No appology was made either.

Maria and the rest of the staff provided outstanding customer service for my large group requiring four rooms. We received extra blankets, extra sheets in the middle of the night when one of our kids had a spill, grill utensils for cooking our hot dogs, extra towels, and even a propane tank swap out - all immediately and with a smile, upon request. The full, free breakfast is a great value and they do a great job keeping the eggs, bacon or sausage, biscuits and gravy, bread, fresh coffee, and everything else stocked up throughout the 3 hours that breakfast is available. All of our rooms were clean, had excellent AC, good shower pressure, a microwave, and a mini fridge which was highly convenient. Thank you for the awesome stay 🙏❤️

We have just come to the end of a wonderful road trip from San Francisco to San Diego and this property was our last stay . We were checked in by Alexis who was so friendly and helpful The alpine lodge was absolutely perfect - the room was lovely - toiletries was gorgeous Sad we only needed to stay one night ! Besides having to sleep in the airport because they wont let me check in early and the musty smelling bathroom. The facilities and breakfast were ok. The staff made promises to call me when i could check in that were never kept.

I like to review more things than most, we used to own an AirBnB, so I know what folks want to know about. This hotel is right off the I-8, so it is a great stop off place, so much more affordable than San Diego, yet so convenient. When we first walked into the room, we thought it was dark, but the furniture all looks new. The bedding is very nice, and the room was super clean. The bathroom and vanity area are very nice, and new looking, and so is the shower stall and shower curtain. We were on second floor, so those rooms are carpeted, the carpet was very clean. Out back, there is a lovely area with a relaxing seating area with waterfall. pond, barbeque and firepit. Tables/chairs to make dinner and sit out with the kids. There are a LOT of eateries within walking distance, with a great brewery nearby. Barons Market is within walking distance, which is fabulous, you can get everything you need to BBQ, at hotel. Great for families, breakfast was good, didn't go in pool, but peeps in there were having fun!

We chose this Property because of location and ability to have our Dog stay as well. We were pleasantly surprised by the beautiful room, very elegant, quiet and clean. The early hot Breakfast was really good and lots of variety. Will stay here again!

The place was not what we expected and nothing like the pictures. It was actually a motel, located right off the highway. As two young women traveling this felt pretty unsafe unfortunately. It did grow on us slightly. But the place as a whole is pretty run down and old.

Good choice in Alpine.My wife and daughter had tickets to a concert at Sycuan Resort but no rooms were available there.Ayres is located conveniently close to both Sycuan and Viejas Casinos.Homemade cookies in the lobby in the evening and nice breakfast selection in the morning.Friendly staff and very clean room and grounds.Would definitely stay again.

Definitely smaller than photos made it appear, the pool was nice and the check in clerk was nice. The breakfast was super cramped, and seemed to have issues keeping it stocked. The room was incredibly hot when we got checked in cooled off after a couple hours tho. Overall not horrible but doubtful I will stay again.

The rooms are dated but clean. Couches are not cloth which to us that was good. Rooms are rather dark. The breakfast area was crowded but offered plenty of choices. Replenishing was rather slow during breakfast hours. The outside sitting area is quite nice. Shops around hotel are very convenient.

Great place and people. Breakfast was delicious, from cereals, yogurt, muffins, oats, fresh fruit juices, hot biscuit with sausage gravy, beacon and hot waffles. We are definitely going to be a returning customer. Highly recommended!

Very clean and convenient location next to restaurants, gas, and casino shuttle. Breakfast was decent and hours were good. Only thing not working was the hottub jets. Otherwise, very nice place.

Normally we love this place and never had issues with them until now. The worker that checked us in didn’t go over check out time, breakfast or anything like that. I told her my dog was my service dog but she didn’t say anything to me about not having to pay the pet fee or anything else. And then when we checked out I was charged the fee, I ended up needed to call them cause we had already left by the time we got the receipt. The a/c in the room hardly worked, the fridge in the room didn’t work, we had no soap at the bathroom sink, no shampoo in the shower and the water was so hot I could hardly use the shower. There was no cold or warm water. It was extremely hot no matter what time of day it was. Really disappointed I am having to write this because usually we love this place and have a great stay.

Breakfast was typical foods. Cookies in the evening was nice for the kids. One of the breakfast room staff was very friendly. Gave wonderful recommendations on local place to visit with kids including the park and library next door.
