Hampton Inn Suites Opelika I85 Auburn Area

I appreciated the fact that the back door was locked at all times to all except those who had a room key. However, the second day, my key would not unlock the door even though it would still unlock my room.

I'm sure once the remodeling is finished, things will be back to the usual high standards for a Hampton Inn. They need to hurry that along. Dust is everywhere, including the tops of the hangars.

Under remodeling project. TV not working. Not in keeping with the Hamptons I have stayed at before.

Everything was overall quite good except the water coming out of the tap had a very bad taste. Understand, this is probably a city water problem and hopefully being addressed. The front desk manager did a good job keeping an adequate bottled water supply available.

Upon arriving on 5/30/2025 and checking in, the room had a very strong musty old smell. The toilet constantly runs, blinds are automatic and broken (part on back order per front desk). Asked to have a room change and was denied by the front desk manager twice due to booking through Hotels.com. Offered to pay more and was still denied. 3 hours into the room and the toilet still runs and blinds are having to be raised and lowered by maintenance. Was also told that they would inspect the room for any damages that we have made and charged accordingly. We took video of our room for protection purposes. The ladder in the deep end of the pool is missing steps so good luck getting out. The manager on duty, Karon, was everything other than nice and respectable. All of this in a “newly renovated” hotel. Worst hotel experience ever. The next morning during breakfast, there were dirty tables with food all of them and they were not cleaned. Kids were told to “stop running & where are their parents” as a 13yrvold was walking a 7yr old to his room. The front desk owner was more worried about kids than keeping the hotel clean. Her attitude was noticed by many guests and all reflected the same thing, rude, condescending and out of line attitude. Other staff was amazing!! Gave great recommendations on food, were understanding and actually cared about guests and cut up with the kids in the lobby.

We use this Hotel almost monthly for travel from VA to TX homebase, and other areas. It's well managed and tucked away nicely but close to anything you need and just off the highway. The staff are welcoming and rooms have been super clean and they are accommodating when we travel with pets about trying to get us ground floors...

Very peaceful and excellent customer service. Clean and friendly. Went for my birthday weekend to enjoy the sun at the pool and it was awesome. Highly recommend.

Good option to stay in the area. The hotel is set back from the traffic of nearby businesses and fast food restaurants, but close proximity to the interstate. Parking was plenty and all within close proximity to an entrance to the hotel. Breakfast was a typical complimentary breakfast. Room size was big (2x queens) and beds were comfortable. Overall this hotel is on par with the nicer Hampton Inns that you will find.

First off the elevator never worked since we got there on Friday evening and until Sunday check out day. second the manager was very rude

They need to do a better job of cleaning the bathroom shower. The shower head had caked up water residue that was a pinkish color. They are a “dog friendly” so they should be doing EXTRA CLEANING for customers that don’t have animals.

Property was clean, updated and well maintained. Would definitely stay there again!!

My room was smelly, the carpet was disgustingly dirty. I couldn't wait for the next day to checkout, I had a terrible night. Spiders was in the bathroom, dog hair was on the furniture, it was awful. I will never stay at this location again. When I think of the Hampton Hotel, I think about luxury, spacious clean rooms, noise proof rooms and I can go on and on. I will not stay at this location again.

The bathroom wasn’t cleaned. Toilet was not flushed, dirty towels hanging, used wash clothes in the shower, open and used soap on the counter top.

The property and my room were exceptionally clean and well maintained.

We had to switch rooms because the bathroom door would not stay closed. The hallways and elevators smelled wet and moldy.

I’ve always preferred a Hampton Inn wherever I travel and I’ve never been this disappointed. This Hampton Inn is below standards by a far cry. My room wasn’t cleaned very well, smelled like rotten fish, A/C never got the room below 71degrees, and the final insult was that I went to bed fine and woke up with pink eye. I may need to rethink Hampton Inn as my choice hotel when I travel, but I will ABSOLUTELY never reserve at this Hampton again.

There was a strong smell of mildew on the second floor. It was too overpowering

Excellent hotel. The property is well-kept and walking distance to many restaurants, a movie theater, and a well-stacked gas station. The staff was very welcoming and knowledgeable. Room was super clean and bed very comfortable. I highly recommend!

Please update/replace your beds and platforms. Very noisy when you sleep

The beds were comfortable, lighting was minimal, and the barn door was off the hinge. We were able to make it work for the night we were there. The clerk that we reported it to upon checkout was friendly and said she would make sure it was taken care of. The breakfast was delicious!

Mold in bathroom. The interstate traffic was really loud all night. Good location and convenient. Staff was super sweet and helpful every interaction.

The hotel was wonderful. Great room, comfortable bed, wonderful breakfast

Terrible hotel…broken toilet, tv, etc. The attendant asked us to leave after telling them we needed the toilet to flush. Will never book with hotels. com again!

Receptionist at check in/out sat night and sun am she was great! Lady working the breakfast area sun am was extremely rude. My 11 year old and her soccer teammate also 11 were getting breakfast (I was sitting in the dining area) they were told they couldn’t be there they needed an adult. Mind u previous am on sat they made their own waffles no problem nothing said. I understand you don’t want children unsupervised but I was there & other adults on our soccer team feeding kids before game. It could have been approached & handled differently.

At check-in, second room not ready. Had to follow-up twice to confirm if second room was ready. Person at check-in desk was way too casual and lacked professionalism.

We use this for biz travel as the mid-point overnight - great location and team managing the facility.

Breakfast could have been better. Confusing. For example where was the non skim milk. Toaster broke. More fruit selections. … otherwise the stay was very nice.

The room didn’t get cleaned until after 4:00 p.m. and she was next door at 9:00 a.m. I had to say something at the front desk to get something done we had no clean towels. The breakfast wasn’t the best but ok they were out of some things but overall everything was great
