We were in one of the Mews rooms. Very impressed with the comfort and cleanliness of the room. Good breakfast choices. About a 6 minute drive to Troon Ferry Terminal. Had dinner in the Red Bowl restaurant and also the bar/lounge area and service in both areas was good. The decor in the latter is very Edwardian and harkens back to when it was a private residence. Would definitely come back for a repeat visit.

Loved it. Accommodation was fab- all refurbished and food was amazing. Very friendly and warm. Loved the cost log fires. 2nd time here and we will keep coming back!

Beautiful hotel in a gorgeous setting and gardens. Service excellent , dinner last night was delicious and very reasonably priced. It was good to see the hotel buzzing but not too busy on a Thursday night. Seems to be popular with golfers , but lots of other guests as well.

The staff were very friendly and the room was clean. Room nice and spacious. Bar night and warm with fire. Bathroom disappointing. Could do with a revamp. The bathroom radiator wasn’t working at all. Bathroom freezing. Room was nice and warm on arrival but during the night they turn off the heating according to a staff member. I was very cold during night and as a result my husband and I have been coughing and feel like we have a cold starting.

Quality of food was very good. Hotel dining rooms were very smart but the mews cottage where we stayed need disappointing. Fixtures and fittings in the lounge area and the bathroom need modernising.

Would have been better if in the main building. Garden rooms had a slight smell, like bad drains.. wonderful location and helpful friendly staff. Lovely food and comfortable.

Our stay was perfect, staff were lovely, welcoming and friendly. We ate dinner in the restaurant and thoroughly enjoyed it. Breakfast was lovely too and plenty to choose from. Rooms were spotless and comfortable. We will definitely be back.

We had a lodge room for an overnight stay, room was spotless and perfect for us. The bed was really comfortable and the room had everything we need. Check in was quick and easy, staff were warm and welcoming.

We had a lovely stay at the hotel for our anniversary, the staff were so friendly particularly the receptionist who greeted us. Our room was spacious and cosy. The hotel is in a lovely location. The only slight negative was we could hear the noise from the kitchen from our room at times.

We enjoyed a relaxing one night stay. We were in room 7 and the bathroom was very small. However we would still return to the hotel. The gardens were superb. We had a drink in the bar and an evening meal plus breakfast. Both dinner and breakfast were very good.

Room located above a very loud band playing at a wedding reception. Was not warned in advance. Manager, argumentative, defensive and initially unhelpful. Suggested it was our fault for returning "early" from our event at another location. I think this was wholly irrelevant. I was given a small compensation but the experience was upsetting and disappointing.

Just returned from a 4 night stay at the Piersland House. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We had a clean, comfortable and large room on the second floor with a sea view (just!). Staff were welcoming, friendly and polite. The food was excellent - the hot breakfasts were very well prepared, and there was a reasonable selection of cereals, fruit and pastries. We had two dinners there: a good selection of dishes to choose from and all of them beautifully prepared and presented, and delicious. A word of warning - Troon doesn't seem to have many restaurants so all the locals go to this hotel, so it can get busy - you need to book a table. The staff were rushing around but were attentive and we enjoyed our meals. Lovely garden at the front, plenty of parking, and a short walk from the beach. I can highly recommend this hotel.

The ambiance of this hotel is unique. Great food, comfortable surroundings, beautiful grounds made for a wonderful stay. The only negative was the size of the standard double room which did not have enough room for two average sized suitcases.

Staff were incredible helpful. We were allowed to check in early. We were in one of the mews cottages which was quiet, peaceful, comfortable and well serviced. Cooked breakfast was good with vegetarian option. Really enjoyed stay.

Didn’t like the shower as it only had a rainwater shower which is no good if you don’t want to wash your hair. En suite very small. Girl at booking in on reception not very friendly but rest of staff were lovely. Had dinner and it was lovely but breakfast very average.

Staff were fantastic and hopefully the Management appreciate the team they have. High standard of food served for dinner. Unfortunately our night was disturbed by a fire alarm at around 2am.This lead to us having to be outside in the pitch dark. No lighting outside at all and one member of staff running about with a bit of paper in his hand making phone calls. Absolutely no communication with guests. Got back in room eventually fully awake. Finally managed to get back to sleep only to be woken at 7am by people shouting out the front of hotel, think it was R&A staff. Got back to sleep and then car alarm went off in the car park. Needless to say was tired this morning. We had hoped for a relaxing time to recharge the batteries unfortunately this did not happen and would put me off staying again

Just returned from a 4 night stay at the Piersland House. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We had a clean, comfortable and large room on the second floor with a sea view (just!). Staff were welcoming, friendly and polite. The food was excellent - the hot breakfasts were very well prepared, and there was a reasonable selection of cereals, fruit and pastries. We had two dinners there: a good selection of dishes to choose from and all of them beautifully prepared and presented, and delicious. A word of warning - Troon doesn't seem to have many restaurants so all the locals go to this hotel, so it can get busy - you need to book a table. The staff were rushing around but were attentive and we enjoyed our meals. Lovely garden at the front, plenty of parking, and a short walk from the beach. I can highly recommend this hotel.

Just returned from a 4 night stay at the Piersland House. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We had a clean, comfortable and large room on the second floor with a sea view (just!). We were in one of the Mews rooms. Very impressed with the comfort and cleanliness of the room. Good breakfast choices. About a 6 minute drive to Troon Ferry Terminal. Had dinner in the Red Bowl restaurant and also the bar/lounge area and service in both areas was good. The decor in the latter is very Edwardian and harkens back to when it was a private residence. Would definitely come back for a repeat visit.

The beach was less than a 5 minute walk away. The town and harbour a 20-25 minute walk. The sandy bay and view of the Isle of Aaran at sunset was beautiful. Troon had a lovely safe feel to it and the beach and town clean and well kept with lovely flowers and well kept greens. We loved it there and The Piersland was a great looking property and beautiful inside too along with the Johnnie Walker history which we were unaware of before visiting.

This is an excellent property. The staff were very friendly and willing to assist with luggage. Our room was very spacious. Would highly recommend this hotel. Great location to Royal Troon golf course.

Beautiful hotel in a gorgeous setting and gardens. Service excellent , dinner last night was delicious and very reasonably priced. It was good to see the hotel buzzing but not too busy on a Thursday night. Seems to be popular with golfers , but lots of other guests as well.

Our stay was perfect, staff were lovely, welcoming and friendly. We ate dinner in the restaurant and thoroughly enjoyed it. Breakfast was lovely too and plenty to choose from. Rooms were spotless and comfortable. We will definitely be back.

Didn’t like the shower as it only had a rainwater shower which is no good if you don’t want to wash your hair. En suite very small. Girl at booking in on reception not very friendly but rest of staff were lovely. Had dinner and it was lovely but breakfast very average.

Needed a room for the night after a long drive on our way to Arran and this was just perfect. Exactly what we needed after 9 hours driving. Beautiful room, great shower and really comfortable bed. We ate in the restaurant and all had a delicious meal in the evening - my husband said it was the best lasagna he’d ever had, our son and I chose fish dishes and they were fab too. We requested breakfast at 7am as getting the first ferry and that was superb too, came very quickly. We didn’t eat a lot as it was so early but the lovely lady gave us a bag to take some supplies for the journey. A brilliant start to our holiday and we’d highly recommend.

Was very disappointed at the lack of grab rails beside the bath. Surprised health and safety did not pick that up. I could not have got in and out of the bath had my husband not been able to help me. I am not disabled but it was scary not having a couple of grab rails. There is a lack of towel rails. Plenty of space at the foot of the bath for a couple of rails. I like to dry myself off a little before getting out. The lack of somewhere to lay toiletries was disappointing. There is space for a couple of shelves to the right of the basin. I don’t like having to lay things on the floor. Robert and Alice Jack

A beautiful hotel with friendly helpful staff. Food in the restaurant was delicious and presented beautifully Our room was lovely, if a bit small. Unfortunately, we were cold as the weather had turned damp and windy, and the room felt damp. So for our one night stay we didn’t sleep well. Perhaps, in future, a small amount of heat to air the room and bed prior to a stay would be good housekeeping.
