The property itself was stunning and had amazing views of lake Windermere. Lovely bar and seating area. Staff were friendly and helpful. Also only a short walk into town which was easy and convenient. Would highly recommend!

This is a lovely country house hotel, with friendly staff (John gets a shout out for a particularly welcoming check in experience). Nicely out of the centre of Bowness, but closeby, it has large bedrooms, pleasant bar area, and beautiful gardens. Breakfast and evening meals also very good. Much better value for money than now more pretentious near neighbours

Some good gins on the bar menu. Very pleasant sitting room which was warm and cosy in cold rainy February. Room was very pleasant. Great setting within walking distance of Lake Windermere and Bowness.

Had a lovely overnight stay at Lindeth Howe. Lovely country house hotel retaining grandeur of past days but up to date with modern slant and facilities. Interior decor fantastic, very homely and warm. Rooms great and dinning room lovely with magnificent views. Will definitely come back here.

We booked a romantic weekend stay at Lindeth Howe after we saw the good reviews. We have been staying in the South Lakes several times a year for over 30 years and used to own a property locally. However, we never got round to booking Lindeth Howe and we have now realised this was a big mistake. From now on this hotel will be our 'go to' hotel in the area. The location was ideal, not too close to Bowwness which can get noisy and bustly yet close enough to walk in to. The staff were very professional and very friendly. The hotel is packed with character and is beautifully decorated. We had an evening meal which was excellent and reasonably priced. The breakfast was also excellent. There was a man displaying owls in the garden at breakfast time who was also very friendly and keen to show off his very well kept birds. All round an excellent experience which we will definetly repeat in future.

Very clean and smart room. Public areas are all very well kept and very nicely decorated with plenty of character. There is a very smart homely atmosphere. All the staff have been very friendly and professional. There was a maintenance problem, which couldn’t be resolved, but a suitable option was offered immediately - which we were happy with. Evening meal was very nice - a little pricey, but to be expected at a hotel in the Lake District. The gentleman running the bar (from Glasgow) was particularly chatty and attentive. Reception staff were lovely and the young lady who served us in the restaurant was very polite and professional (young lady with strawberry blonde hair tied back). Thank you - we had a very lovely stay.

The hotel is lovely, quirky with lots to look at. Lovely gardens. We were there 2 days for a wedding and had a wonderful time. The staff were great especially Alan on the bar. Breakfast was good. Our room was 201 and it was quite unusual but a bit dark, not good for putting on makeup. It definitely needs a light over a mirror. The wooden cladding although adding character darkens the room.

An absolutely stunning property with a lot of history. Upon arrival we were greeted with a smile and warm welcome. Shown up to our room personally and given all the information we needed. It’s located in a quiet, but beautiful area of the lakes. What we loved is you can still walk into Windermere and it was a beautiful walk down from the ferry nab port which is pretty much across the road (5 mins away). The room was very clean, beautiful and had lovely amenities. It’s always the small touches, like gorgeous toiletries from Temple Spa. A Nespresso coffee machine, and bathrobes. Breakfast was a great choice of hot and cold; they even had home made granola. and it’s rare that breakfast is included with the room price these days. Drinks at the bar in the evening were lovely and the real fireplace gave it very cosy vibes. We loved our stay so much, and we will be returning due to the high standards and kindness of the hotel. We felt really valued and everyone was so kind. Thank you for such a wonderful stay

My wife and I loved our stay at Lindeth Howe, we were made welcome their throughout our stay and nothing was to much. The hotel was superbly clean and with Beatrix Potter everywhere it made the place very homely. Would definitely return.

Property in a good position and well looked after Inside clean and well functioning. Staff need to be a little more motivated, they looked a little fed up from the receptionist to the staff in the restaurant but food was excellent!!!

A gem of a place. Tucked away just outside Bowness this hotel is beautiful. Check in was very quick and efficient. We were early but our room was ready which was a real bonus. We had a family room which was spacious with all the amenities you would expect and don’t always get. We were at a family get together so didn’t dine at the restaurant in the evening. We had breakfast which was absolutely delicious and kept us going for the rest of the day! The staff were all really friendly and helpful. A great find.

The hotel was beautiful and the staff were excellent, they couldn't do enough for you. We booked a superior twin room through Expedia but they booked a superior double room, the staff went out of their way to change to a twin room. The room was clean but looked like a DIY job and didn't have a nice view but as Expedia had messed up and booked a double room we put up with it, there was no hot water in the shower but they did offer us a key for another room to shower the next morning

20+ years since I last came to Lindeth and it’s more beautiful than I remembered it to be as they renovated. Staff were discreet and impeccable. (Except a grumpy receptionist on duty on 12th June). Rooms were nice if not for the hot weather. Cool air from outside didn’t quite come into the rooms. Wish there was A/C. 😅 One of our rooms was kinda small but had great views. Thank you for making our family of 6 with 2 elderly and 2 children so wonderful and comfortable.

The property is a hidden gem, we didn’t realise the history until we arrived. Beautifully presented and location is great too. It’s about half hour walk to Bowness, 5 mins in the car. Staff was polite, attentive and breakfast was great too. Our rooms were at the back with lovely views of the garden and lake. We travelled as a family of 4. I would definitely recommend and consider staying there again

Lovely hotel with a beautiful views and a good background histories. The room is clean and tidy with good amenities. Staff is extremely friendly and provide very good advice for activities. The hotel is lovely, quirky with lots to look at. Lovely gardens. We were there 2 days for a wedding and had a wonderful time. The staff were great especially Alan on the bar. Breakfast was good. Our room was 201 and it was quite unusual but a bit dark, not good for putting on makeup. It definitely needs a light over a mirror. The wooden cladding although adding character darkens the room.

My wife and I loved our stay at Lindeth Howe, we were made welcome their throughout our stay and nothing was to much. The hotel was superbly clean and with Beatrix Potter everywhere it made the place very homely. Would definitely return.

20+ years since I last came to Lindeth and it’s more beautiful than I remembered it to be as they renovated. Staff were discreet and impeccable. (Except a grumpy receptionist on duty on 12th June). Rooms were nice if not for the hot weather. Cool air from outside didn’t quite come into the rooms. Wish there was A/C. 😅 One of our rooms was kinda small but had great views. Thank you for making our family of 6 with 2 elderly and 2 children so wonderful and comfortable.

We booked a romantic weekend stay at Lindeth Howe after we saw the good reviews. We have been staying in the South Lakes several times a year for over 30 years and used to own a property locally. However, we never got round to booking Lindeth Howe and we have now realised this was a big mistake. From now on this hotel will be our 'go to' hotel in the area. The location was ideal, not too close to Bowwness which can get noisy and bustly yet close enough to walk in to. The staff were very professional and very friendly. The hotel is packed with character and is beautifully decorated. We had an evening meal which was excellent and reasonably priced. The breakfast was also excellent. There was a man displaying owls in the garden at breakfast time who was also very friendly and keen to show off his very well kept birds. All round an excellent experience which we will definetly repeat in future.

Very clean and smart room. Public areas are all very well kept and very nicely decorated with plenty of character. There is a very smart homely atmosphere. All the staff have been very friendly and professional. There was a maintenance problem, which couldn’t be resolved, but a suitable option was offered immediately - which we were happy with. Evening meal was very nice - a little pricey, but to be expected at a hotel in the Lake District. The gentleman running the bar (from Glasgow) was particularly chatty and attentive. Reception staff were lovely and the young lady who served us in the restaurant was very polite and professional (young lady with strawberry blonde hair tied back). An absolutely stunning property with a lot of history. Upon arrival we were greeted with a smile and warm welcome. Shown up to our room personally and given all the information we needed. It’s located in a quiet, but beautiful area of the lakes. What we loved is you can still walk into Windermere and it was a beautiful walk down from the ferry nab port which is pretty much across the road (5 mins away). The room was very clean, beautiful and had lovely amenities. It’s always the small touches, like gorgeous toiletries from Temple Spa. A Nespresso coffee machine, and bathrobes. Breakfast was a great choice of hot and cold; they even had home made granola. and it’s rare that breakfast is included with the room price these days. Drinks at the bar in the evening were lovely and the real fireplace gave it very cosy vibes. We loved our stay so much, and we will be returning due to the high standards and kindness of the hotel. We felt really valued and everyone was so kind. Thank you for such a wonderful stay

The property is a hidden gem, we didn’t realise the history until we arrived. Beautifully presented and location is great too. It’s about half hour walk to Bowness, 5 mins in the car. Staff was polite, attentive and breakfast was great too. Our rooms were at the back with lovely views of the garden and lake. We travelled as a family of 4. I would definitely recommend and consider staying there again

This was a beautiful hotel and we will definitely stay again. They catered for me gluten free and vegan. The decor is quirky and tasteful and the huge bed was so comfortable I didn’t want to leave. Within walking distance of town but you almost don’t want to leave. Thank you and well done the team.

Couldn’t fault the hotel .. Staff helpful and friendly especially the breakfast staff .. breakfast was amazing .. Beautiful clean hotel and gardens so peaceful , bit of a hike uphill back from the lake but was worth it for the surroundings . The walk down is lovely .. Would definately stay again . Little tip: it was only 2 pounds for an uber back as we found out on the last night

Amazing stay! The hotel was clean, quiet, and beautifully maintained. The breakfast was delicious with plenty of choice, and all the staff were very polite, friendly, and welcoming. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others. The only downside was the attic loft room. It was quite small, and the sloped ceiling meant I hit my head several times near the skylight. Next time, I would prefer a standard room rather than an attic loft
