Such a lovely stay. Lovely welcome and friendly receptionist very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Enjoyed the pool & spa area, didn’t get to the gym but it looked good with a great view. Would highly recommend.

The food is amazing, the staff are fantastic. The place is beautiful and quiet and the use of the facilities is included, gym, sauna, steam room, swimming pool and jacuzzi.

A fabulous place to stay whilst exploring the lakes. Lovely breakfast with glorious views. Leisure and gym small and needing a little bit of a refresh but a nice option to have. Views are stunning, food good and bar good but a little pricey, but given Windermere is about 20 minutes away and taxis are pricey, it seemed a sensible option to stay put. Overall a great place.

Very nice hotel 10mins away from Bowness. Helpful and very friendly staff. Delicious food in the restaurant. The only negative was the cold water in the pool.

Excellant breakfast choice and period of which this was great. Gym facitilities were ok but not all appeared to be in working order. Cleaan pool. Jacuzzi, steam roon and sauna. Grounds were nice and well kept.

Loved this hotel, can’t fault it. We had a superior room in the new wing, nice and spacious and bathroom was fab. We made good use of the pool, sauna, jacuzzi and steam room. The gym is a little tired but machines are useable. The grounds are nice for sitting outside in good weather and there’s a cute little model village on site which is a nice little extra (tokens at reception). Breakfast was pretty good. Staff in bar/restaurant were all really lovely and even though they were obviously exceptionally busy over bank holiday weekend everything ran really smoothly.

We chose this hotel as we wanted a quiet night away not too far from home and away from the busy tourist areas and it didn’t disappoint. It’s hard to judge a place on a quiet weeknight in November but we had a lovely stay. The room was lovely and clean with everything we needed. Dinner was great even if very quiet but to be expected this time of the year. Breakfast was freshly cooked and a large range of things in the buffet. Plenty of fresh coffee offered at regular intervals. All the staff we met were so nice and friendly and professional. As I have worked in hotels and most recently as a housekeeper I notice any little things that are often overlooked but I was fully relaxed and everywhere was clean and tidy and there was nothing that would put me off from going there again.

Nice Hotel but in need of some updating, especially outside. Walls grimy in places and window frames badly need repainting. My room was a little cramped but ok. Main issue was lack of decent blinds / thick curtains to block out early morning light.

Ver good siting and gardens. On the whole, a very enjoyable stay marred only by the sticky tables in the restaurant! The waiter, who was otherwise very helpful, said the problem appeared to be with the spray used to clean the tables. We had a bit of banter about my being a chemist and so able to solve the issue but really the hotel should deal with the problem. Either they should thoroughly clean the table tops using hot soapy water or methylated spirit or if that does not remove the stickiness, refinish the table tops since the problem will be with the surface lacquer. Whatever solution solves the problem, then the spray cleaner needs to be changed!

Only stayed one night. Lovely quiet setting. The whole place has character. Staff were great and friendly, very accommodating. Beautiful views from the restaurant and bar of the gardens. Room was nice, tidy and clean although a little warm for my liking. Will be back for another stay soon!

Lovely hotel room immaculately clean and comfortable, our room had large bathroom with jacuzzi bath ,breakfast excellent . Staff very pleasant and helpful, set in peaceful location lovely gardens.

The hotel room (53) had a broken toilet seat (it fell off) as the hinge was broken. The mini sofa seat in the room had some nasty (curry ?) stains on it so not able to use. The door lock was quite difficult to close each time we left. We had to slam the door quite hard to get it to lock properly. Other than that the hotel was fine. We were offered other rooms to change to but this room had a better view.

This hotel is set in its own grounds which is very nice to spend time some time in on a nice day. My room was clean and comfortable and the bathroom had an excellent showera. It was very hot and the windows only open a few inches, no AC so on a hot day trying to sleep was uncomfortable. I had dinner at the hotel and it was decent, a bit overpriced for the quality though. Breakfast was good overall. Overall I would recommend this hotel.

We enjoyed staying in the property. We had a car and can visit all the Lake District attractions from the location. The view of the hotel was superb and manage to take some nice snaps. English Breakfast was included and the hospitality was superb. I faced flush issue with the toilet but the hotel has resolved the issue within quick turnaround time. Very impressed with the quick resolving of this issue. The room service was also good with general toiletries, room cleaning and towels changed on a daily basis. I would like to extend my thanks to the hotel management for making our holiday memorable. Regards Konark

Had a lovely relaxing stay. Beautiful garden and views. Our standard room had everything required, comfortable bed, kettle and beverages, hair dryer and a nice bathroom. We slept very well. We had an evening meal in the restaurant which we enjoyed. The staff were friendly and polite. Would definitely return.

It may be a 3 star hotel but service is 5 star - incredibly helpful and friendly staff and impeccably clean everywhere. It's a lovely quiet spot too - looking out onto the gardens and surrounding rural area from the bar and restaurant is really nice. The only things letting it down are the older decor in the rooms (although the bed was very comfy with lovely bedding) and the fact that the walls are very thin (I could hear neighbours talking and TVs, and bathroom usage), plus I had a basin that wouldn't drain and a weak shower, but this is why it's classed as 3 star I suppose. The other let down was the dinner food which was a bit odd and overpriced with strange, over-elaborate menu choices, although I had a couple of great starters. Breakfast was better but I would still have preferred more simple choices - the Sunday buffet was best as I could have any combination of cooked breakfast I wanted. But these are small concerns when overall it's great value for money and has a lovely vibe. And I didn't get to try the spa and gym facilities - next time!

Liked the exterior, gardens and the loumge with lovely open fire. The modern part was clean but unexceptional. The rooms were large clean and comfortable. An accessible bathroom and walk in shower would have been more suitable for our needs but the bath with inclusive shower would have been acceptable for most people. Overall very comfortable with lovely views over the surrounding countryside.

We have stayed here on several occasions and really enjoyed it. However, this visit the room was extremely cold and we had to ask for a blanket- it helped but was still cold. The WiFi signal was appalling- could not get a decent connection which hasn’t happened in previous visits. The breakfast was lovely and the staff very pleasant. After this visit we may not go again

The property was easy to find. Parking was easy. Got a friendly welcome. Breakfast was ready before time which was really helpful as we had to leave quickly. The room was a bit difficult to get in to as there was a bedside stand as soon as you open the door so had to negotiate around it everytime I entered & exited the room.

Lovely comfortable room, only issue was the TV wouldn't turn off or volume turn down so was on all night on my first nights stay. Reception sorted it next day for me.food and service were very good. Would definitely visit again.

The room was really nice, clean and spacious, the bed was also bigger than a standard double bed, bathroom was nice and spacious with a nice shower and a bathtub, the breakfast selection was nice however I wouldn’t recommend the restaurant of the hotel as we had dinner there one night that was terrible, the worst meal I’ve had in years, we ordered a pork belly for starter that was more fat that pork meat and completely tasteless and the pheasant dish that was absolutely disgusting, dry and tasteless, honestly the worst meal we have had in years which was very disappointing

When we arrived they tried to charge extra than quoted for the room. The room was small and dated very average for the price. We stated we had 2 dogs before arrival and still got a small room. The food and drinks were ok. Nothing above average. We asked to have our deserts in our room. There was a £5 extra charge for this Again when checking out. Extra chargers were added that we had paid for. Just ok room and food. Could probably get better for the price.
When we arrived they tried to charge extra than quoted for the room. The room was small and dated very average for the price. We stated we had 2 dogs before arrival and still got a small room. The food and drinks were ok. Nothing above average. We asked to have our deserts in our room. There was a £5 extra charge for this Again when checking out. Extra chargers were added that we had paid for. Just ok room and food. Could probably get better for the price.

We had one night at Damsen Dene and had a really lovely evening. The staff were helpful and friendly. The food was good and reasonably priced. Unfortunately the shower didn't work very well at all, and we were charged more than the price quoted for the room, maybe for our two little dogs. We mind too much as it is in a beautiful spot, and very easy from the motorway.

Very nice room and great parking at the door. Staff were very attentive and friendly. I had breakfast and dinner at the hotel with a great choice for all meals. Definitely stay here again

We enjoyed staying in the property. We had a car and can visit all the Lake District attractions from the location. The view of the hotel was superb and manage to take some nice snaps. English Breakfast was included and the hospitality was superb. I faced flush issue with the toilet but the hotel has resolved the issue within quick turnaround time. Very impressed with the quick resolving of this issue. The room service was also good with general toiletries, room cleaning and towels changed on a daily basis. I would like to extend my thanks to the hotel management for making our holiday memorable. Regards Konark

Reception staff great, evening restaurant staff very courteous and attentive, morning breakfast staff could do with an attitude reset - very abrasive and guests seemed to be an inconvenience, especially when disrupting whatever was holding their attention on their mobiles (the server with the bleach blonde hair in particular). It may be a 3 star hotel but service is 5 star - incredibly helpful and friendly staff and impeccably clean everywhere. It's a lovely quiet spot too - looking out onto the gardens and surrounding rural area from the bar and restaurant is really nice. The only things letting it down are the older decor in the rooms (although the bed was very comfy with lovely bedding) and the fact that the walls are very thin (I could hear neighbours talking and TVs, and bathroom usage), plus I had a basin that wouldn't drain and a weak shower, but this is why it's classed as 3 star I suppose. The other let down was the dinner food which was a bit odd and overpriced with strange, over-elaborate menu choices, although I had a couple of great starters. Breakfast was better but I would still have preferred more simple choices - the Sunday buffet was best as I could have any combination of cooked breakfast I wanted. But these are small concerns when overall it's great value for money and has a lovely vibe. And I didn't get to try the spa and gym facilities - next time!

Excellent property, fantastic facilities, could have stayed a lot longer than one night! Beautiful surroundings, great choice of food and drinks, beautifully cleaned room. So close to Windermere and other locations, but felt so far away from all the hustle and bustle! Highly recommended property for couples, groups and families.

Views are stunning, food good and bar good but a little pricey, but given Windermere is about 20 minutes away and taxis are pricey, it seemed a sensible option to stay put. Overall a great place.

Only stayed one night. Lovely quiet setting. The whole place has character. Staff were great and friendly, very accommodating. Beautiful views from the restaurant and bar of the gardens. Room was nice, tidy and clean although a little warm for my liking. Will be back for another stay soon!

Lovely hotel room immaculately clean and comfortable, our room had large bathroom with jacuzzi bath ,breakfast excellent . Staff very pleasant and helpful, set in peaceful location lovely gardens.

This hotel is set in its own grounds which is very nice to spend time some time in on a nice day. My room was clean and comfortable and the bathroom had an excellent showera. It was very hot and the windows only open a few inches, no AC so on a hot day trying to sleep was uncomfortable. I had dinner at the hotel and it was decent, a bit overpriced for the quality though. Breakfast was good overall. Overall I would recommend this hotel.

A very pleasant and well modernised property in lovely countryside near Windermere. Very helpful staff, excellent meals with a wide menu. Thhe building is rather rambling with a lot of stairs.

We often choose to stay at the Damson Dene because of the delicious food, it brings us back - bravo Stefano, consistency of super menu choices, really tasty and well presented food. Service always excellent too, staff make this place !

Excellant breakfast choice and period of which this was great. Gym facitilities were ok but not all appeared to be in working order. Cleaan pool. Jacuzzi, steam roon and sauna. Grounds were nice and well kept.

Breakfast and Dinner excellent and we were well looked after. Spa facilities were good. Gym was OK, apart from the availability of cleaning materials for wiping down equipment after use.

The room was really nice, clean and spacious, the bed was also bigger than a standard double bed, bathroom was nice and spacious with a nice shower and a bathtub, the breakfast selection was nice however I wouldn’t recommend the restaurant of the hotel as we had dinner there one night that was terrible, the worst meal I’ve had in years, we ordered a pork belly for starter that was more fat that pork meat and completely tasteless and the pheasant dish that was absolutely disgusting, dry and tasteless, honestly the worst meal we have had in years which was very disappointing

The food and drinks are amazing. The view is beautiful. The grounds are small but very beautiful with a pond that a lot of ducks live. The rooms are clean tidy and comfy. The reception has an open fire which smells amazing staff are very welcoming.

Location of hotel excellent for a base in the Lakes. Lovely clean rooms and friendly staff. Breakfast was well laid out and very nice. Lovely gardens with a duck pond. Plenty of parking available. Plenty of seating inside and outside, which was lovely this summer. The meals I had were lovely and tasty.

If you have the chance, take the cabin! It’s so nice to have your own backyard, with a spa and furniture outside, you really feel like home. We ate both dinner and breakfast at the hotel and it was delicious. The staff is really nice and smiling! Would totally recommand! It’s close to any hikes + we saw a few bikers too!

The rooms, facilities and staff were exceptionally good. The food was outstanding. The hotel, itself, needs some upgrading to the exterior. Whilst the garden areas were beautiful, the cast iron white tables and chairs were dirty and needed a thorough clean. The water feature also. There were insufficient cushions on the exterior chairs. The whole outside of the building would benefit from white masonry painting to upgrade the property significantly. We would stay again
