Little semi detached property, ideally positioned to explore the village and surrounding areas. Car park is about 100 yards away, accessed via small footpath. The house is well furnished and comfortable, lovely kitchen and bedrooms. We used the fire stove at night and had to have the electric wall heaters on all the time. The bathroom was a real challenge, low ceiling meant i could not stand in the shower, the shower did not work properly and the bathroom had no heating. Great unspoilt view of the harbour and open sea. The Cod and Lobster pub a very short walk offered great food and company. We loved our stay at the property and left with a heavy heart. A word to the wise if you have any mobility condition then this will not be for you.

The photos don’t do the place justice. It’s much bigger than it looks. Huge bedroom and generous fully equipped kitchen. Arguably the best views in Staithes. The inconvenience of carrying to and from the car park is soon forgotten when relaxing in the comfy chairs in front of the fire listening to records. Perfect for when the weather closes in. A nicely renovated and well presented cottage with a fabulous view of the harbour from the dining table. A real delight to have a lazy breakfast whilst watching the goings on. Unfortunately the local electrical company had temporarily closed the top path to the cottage so our legs were tested by the hill over the week - probably good for us though!

This is a lovely cottage set back from the main street, it is accessed via various steps and alleyways which our children loved exploring (favourite was discovering they ended up in Dog Loup!). Situated roughly halfway between Bank Top Cark Park and the Harbour Front it makes easy walking whichever way you need to go. House was spotless, lovely welcome treat left for us and comfy beds. Kitchen is a lovely size, equipped with everything you need. Views from the living room absolutely spectacular, it was nice to just sit and watch the harbour. Children loved the attic bedroom with its own spectacular views. Such a wonderful cottage, we'll definitely be back!

Burton cottage is ideally placed, 2 minutes into the village and 2 minutes up to the Cleveland Way. And fantastic views out to sea. It had everything you’d need in terms of facilities; the (Emma) bed was very comfortable; and there’s plenty of space in the living area. Not an issue for us 60 year olds, but the stairs are quite steep so one to be aware of.

As everyone says this cottage has a great view which is true and we spent a great deal of time looking at it when in the cottage. The living room and kitchen are well laid out and have great headroom, just beware of the steps to the kitchen as although well signposted took a few days of head banging to get used to the height. First floor and a mvery good size bedroom with great views, just make sure you are wearing something appropriate before opening the curtains! The bathroom is compact and only my daughter could stand up straight in the shower due to the headroom but as long as you don’t want to spend ages in there it is fine. The second floor is sparsely furnished and is really only suitable for children as the headroom on the steps is very low, another nice view from the window. The car park is a 15 to 20 minute round trip when carrying luggage etc so I would recommend travelling light, which we didn’t.

We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Burton Cottage, there is nothing that the owners haven’t thought of to make this a real home from home. Stunning views from the living room, great location within the village and cosy log burner. We only wish we could have stayed longer, can’t wait to return!

We have stayed at Staithes many times and this cottage is one of the best. The view is absolutely breathtaking and the King size bed was superb. The place was spotless. Plenty of hot water and was lovely and warm. A real treat for Christmas. However, it is a long way from the car park or the High Street to transport boxes of food and Christmas treats. The stairs in the cottage are extremely steep and polished so great care is needed. We had a wonderful time.

Just back from a lovely weekend away in Staithes. Burton Cottage was much bigger than the pictures showed, and we were immediately taken by the views over the bay. Our second stay at Burton Cottage. It’s absolutely perfect for us. Great location and amazing view out of the lounge window. Spotlessly clean as last time we stayed. We ate our evening meals in the cottage as the kitchen has everything you need to prepare them. The bottle of wine and biscuits are a lovely touch……thank you Sinead. We’ll definitely be back. 10/10 from us and Penny the Pooch

We really enjoyed our time here. The cottage is full of character and charm and is extremely clean. Loved sitting at the dining table with a glass of wine every evening to watch the magnetic view as day turned into night. Staithes is a good base to explore the area and the hike to the cottage from the top car park is not challenging and well worth the effort.

This is an amazing cottage with the most wonderful views of the harbour. Everyday was a dream to sit and eat breakfast looking out at the sea. The property was well maintained and clean. We will definitely stay again.

The cottage is absolutely gorgeous and has the most fantastic view across the harbour. It was spotlessly clean with beautiful décor, and the most comfortable bed we've ever slept in. We had planned to visit various places around the area but we found Burton Cottage so relaxing that we didn't venture further than Staithes and ended up spending the weekend exploring the village, enjoying coffee and cake in the local cafes, listening to the cottage's eclectic vinyl collection and spending a lot of time reading and gazing out of the window at that view! There's a certain magic about Burton Cottage that just makes you switch off from the outside world and relax. We can't wait to return.

Lovely cottage in a beautiful location and the most lovely view from the sitting room. Typical old cottage with steep winding staircases and low beams. Very comfortable and cosy.

There's a certain magic about Burton Cottage that just makes you switch off from the outside world and relax. We can't wait to return.
The cottage is absolutely gorgeous and has the most fantastic view across the harbour. It was spotlessly clean with beautiful décor, and the most comfortable bed we've ever slept in. We had planned to visit various places around the area but we found Burton Cottage so relaxing that we didn't venture further than Staithes and ended up spending the weekend exploring the village, enjoying coffee and cake in the local cafes, listening to the cottage's eclectic vinyl collection and spending a lot of time reading and gazing out of the window at that view! There's a certain magic about Burton Cottage that just makes you switch off from the outside world and relax. We can't wait to return.

Perfect seaside cottage, with beautiful sea view. Convenient for pubs, cafes, shops. Comfortable lounge. Large well appointed kitchen, excellent bathroom & shower. Large main bedroom. We enjoyed our stay very much.

3 lovely days spent at this lovely cottage. Cozy nights in front of the log fire. Wandering around Staithes Harbour. Great food and drinks in The Cod & Lobster. Beautiful view and sunsets and the comfiest bed ever.

This is a lovely cottage set back from the main street, it is accessed via various steps and alleyways which our children loved exploring (favourite was discovering they ended up in Dog Loup!). Situated roughly halfway between Bank Top Cark Park and the Harbour Front it makes easy walking whichever way you need to go. House was spotless, lovely welcome treat left for us and comfy beds. Kitchen is a lovely size, equipped with everything you need. Views from the living room absolutely spectacular, it was nice to just sit and watch the harbour. Children loved the attic bedroom with its own spectacular views. Such a wonderful cottage, we'll definitely be back!

Beautiful property in a perfect location. Very clean and well looked after.Instructions for finding the property were clear and easy to follow and we loved every minute of our stay.The parking permit was a real help and the welcome pack left for us was a delightful suprise!

Our second stay at Burton Cottage. It’s absolutely perfect for us. Great location and amazing view out of the lounge window. Spotlessly clean as last time we stayed. We ate our evening meals in the cottage as the kitchen has everything you need to prepare them. The bottle of wine and biscuits are a lovely touch……thank you Sinead. We’ll definitely be back. 10/10 from us and Penny the Pooch

I totally recommend Burton Cottage. Sinead, the owner is very helpful and clear with instructions. The location is amazing with a wonderful view of the bay from the lounge window. Very well appointed, with everything you could possibly require for your stay. Very kindly, our hosts also left a welcome pack.

We had a wonderful stay in this cosy cottage with wonderful views of the harbour. The reading nook was a lovely touch and we all enjoyed retreating to it to read or listen to music. Sitting by the fire after a day walking along the Cleveland Way, beachcoming or mooching around the delightful cobbled streets and alleys, sipping a glass of wine was just too good to be true. A lovely touch by the hosts to provide wine and biscuits on arrival. We all hope to Return to Staithes and Burton cottage again soon.

We really enjoyed our 3 night stay at Burton Cottage. There is a great seaview from the cottage and it is full of character and was very well equipped for our needs. Staithes is quaint and friendly with two good pubs that serve food. Staithes was surprisingly quiet when we were there, as we were so well sheltered from the strong southwesterly winds.

Burton cottage is ideally placed, 2 minutes into the village and 2 minutes up to the Cleveland Way. And fantastic views out to sea. It had everything you’d need in terms of facilities; the (Emma) bed was very comfortable; and there’s plenty of space in the living area. Not an issue for us 60 year olds, but the stairs are quite steep so one to be aware of.

We really enjoyed our time here. The cottage is full of character and charm and is extremely clean. Loved sitting at the dining table with a glass of wine every evening to watch the magnetic view as day turned into night. Staithes is a good base to explore the area and the hike to the cottage from the top car park is not challenging and well worth the effort.

We loved our stay at Burton Cottage which is very cosy and comfortable with great views. We slept very well in the comfy bed. Had some great walks on the Cleveland Way to Runswick Bay and Saltburn. Enjoyed sitting round the fire every evening after a few drinks and some great food at the Cod & Lobster and The Royal George which were both just a short stroll away. We hope to return!

Fabulous stay at Burton Cottage, a home from home. Well equipped with a beautiful view.Great communication with the host. We particularly enjoyed the vinyl collection; the Smiths went down very well indeed. We will definitely be staying again.
