Stayed 25/03/2025 Hotel rooms are clean and tidy the rooms are interesting as they are in blocks. I stayed in the first floor room and was pleasantly surprised at how spacious the rooms are. Bathroom was lovely and clean. There is also plenty of free parking available on site

Room had a bath (which my partner likes) but the tap was disconnected permanently. Pillows were too deep for my neck so i had to use a rolled up towel as they only had these pillows. Evening meals were disappointing but breakfast was fine. Plenty of parking. Easy to find. We weren't in the main part of the hotel but in one of the external/courtyard rooms, however this was a plus as we weren't disturbed by the wedding reception on the saturday.

Stayed here quite a few times now and the staff are the hotels greatest asset, they always go above and beyond. The hotel is set in wonderful grounds the rooms are always clean and tidy and the bar is a lovely setting with a friendly atmosphere. Highly recommended place to stay.

The venue was perfect with plenty of parking, it was quite modern looking Drink & food were reasonably priced hotel, Really nice check in, with cheerful & polite staff, we got there early, but nothing was to much trouble And we were able to get into our room early, Our room was perfect apart from the pull out bed, it didn't do my back any good & wasnt comfortable But that aside it was an amazing stay And we willd definitely return

It was very good. There was a disco going on that turned out to be a wake. We feared the worst for our night rest, but our room was in a separate building and we didn't hear a thing. The food was good, too. The room was very nice and the bed very good. The bathroom was clean. It was a very nice experience all round.

We had a warm, friendly welcome and staff did all they could to make our stay satisfactory. The food was first rate. Everywhere was very clean as were the bed linen and towels. I can genuinely recommend this venue.

The staff were very friendly in reception and bar.The room was very clean with an excellent bed. The bathroom had a great shower. We were suffering a three day power cut after the storm so it was so nice to book into a lovely warm Inn and shower and relax. The food was also very good and reasonably priced

A good central place to stay, this was our third short stay in 12 months. Good food, good service, friendly staff. My only critisim is that the rooms are beginning to look a little tired. Having said that, an ideal place for a short stay.

Stayed here before. I’m pretty sure I booked a double room however I walked into a twin room! After a long day I couldn’t be bothered to ask for a change, I’m glad because I slept really well, the room was warm and the bed really good. One criticism is the soundproofing is quite bad as I could hear a conversation next door. Overall pretty good and wound stay again. Didn’t eat food this time as I didn’t have any energy to be bothered!!

The building needs a little TLC and a clean up. The mattress was far too soft, hubby and I both sunk into the mattress which made us roll towards each other or away and onto the floor.

It was a lovely comfy room, easy to get to from the car park. Lovely and clean ensuite. The restaurant staff went above and beyond to help find meals that didn't contain my unusual allergies, and the food was absolutely lovely for dinner. Breakfast was a nice relaxed meal, although some patrons seemed to expect silver service and for their cooked breakfast to arrive in less time than it might take to prepare at home! It just goes to show that you can't please all of the people all of the time. All the staff were polite and appropriately friendly as well as approachable. It was a lovely stay, and I would recommend this quiet place for solo travellers like me, or couples. Such a lovely stay.

This was definitely a step up from the standard Green King options. I think I may have been upgraded, as it was laid out as a suite with sofa area. The bed and room were very comfy and the bathroom was equally spacious. My room was away from the main building, but only a very short walk in the rain, and mostly covered. This had the benefit of cutting out any small risk of noise. The food was very nice, and a superior selection of drinks as well. Overall recommended, even if it is a little out of Barnstaple itself (which suited my needs)

A surprisingly good Inn, on the outskirts of Barnstaple. Good value for money, comfortable clean, quiet bedrooms. Friendly and helpful staff and tasty food. I'll be back.

The food was a high quality and a reasonably priced. The area is really quiet and not built up,so you don't hear any traffic noise.

Staff were very friendly and helpful but we waited just over 30minutrd minutes each evening for our meal. Overall a happy stay.

Accommodation was great, breakfast was good too. Service for evening meal was very slow and food was average. Convenient stop off location for walking sw coastal paths.

The chef was in a bad mood and heard shouting from the kitchen. He wouldn’t cook an omelette. The queue at the bar was excessive. Took about 20 minutes waiting to order food. The room was clean and nice but we felt the cost was too high for our overall experience

Room had a bath (which my partner likes) but the tap was disconnected permanently. Pillows were too deep for my neck so i had to use a rolled up towel as they only had these pillows. Evening meals were disappointing but breakfast was fine. Plenty of parking. Easy to find. We weren't in the main part of the hotel but in one of the external/courtyard rooms, however this was a plus as we weren't disturbed by the wedding reception on the saturday.

We had a warm, friendly welcome and staff did all they could to make our stay satisfactory. The food was first rate. Everywhere was very clean as were the bed linen and towels. I can genuinely recommend this venue.

Lovely double room, spotlessly clean, great shower and all with free parking which is an absolute bonus. Good lighting and large TV, comfy bed etc The pub is lovely and the gardens great in the Summer Only one negative which actually almost ruined my stay - the room was unbearably hot and even with the fan on full blast 24/7 I could barely sleep a wink. It was very hot weather but even so, with temperatures threatening to reach similar heights from now on, something needs to be done in terms of air conditioning

Stayed at the location for 2 nights and paid for a "superior" room. Reported that the ceiling light didn't work and upon switching on the wall light, the lamp came out of the wall and was only still attached by insulated wires. Reported it to reception and asked if someone could look at it the following day, which they did. Was told they did not know the cause of the ceiling light not working and it would not get fixed that day, An hour later, whilst sitting at the head of the bed, I noticed a switch on the wall behind the bedside table, with a label on it which said 'switch for ceiling and bedside light' - upon switching this on, the ceiling light worked and so did the wall light despite this still hanging out of the wall. Went back to reception to let them know and a different receptionist said she knew about the switch behind the table - the maintenance man was also there and confirmed he did not know about the switch. I also mentioned the wall light again to which I was told there were other rooms with this issue and they were gradually being replaced. Had dinner on site the first night and had to ask where our food was after waiting 40mins - they were not busy and when it arrived 5 mins later, the steak was tough and the speciality chips which had been ordered were not on the plate. A hair clip remained on the stairs to the rooms whilst we were there, so I guess they weren't hoovered. Ran out of a particular cider, & Baileys and had no Worcester sauce for a Bloody Mary
