Nice Hotel good location for town Only problem is parking the neighbouring car park is poorly maintained very dirty and lifts not working

Hotel has a great location and is really convenient. The room was was really comfortable, the shower was powerful and the aircon worked well. The big let down was the parking. I appreciate that the parking is managed by an external company but i dont think Leonardo should be affiliating with it. Its dirty, smelly and dark. The bays are too small and there are pillars and tight corners everywhere making manouving awkward. Oh and the lift is out of order

Upgraded although unsure what was better about that room . Very basic . Towels threadbare. Breakfast good. Car park awful and hard to find and corridors to this stink of urine and dried faeces on the floor . Have to enter back door of hotel. Feels very dodgy .

Lovely hotel - but a 25 minute wait to get served at the bar?? Reception just kept saying - someone will be there soon. If I hadn’t had my drinks vouchers (which once again were only given to me when I questioned why they had t been), we’d have left and gone elsewhere.

Reception staff was lovely , eficient and friendly. Room was a nice size. Beds very comfy and clean. Carpets need a full clean as tyere was coffee and drinks stains , brown stains , and carpets generally look like they need a good clean. Even in the hallways. And couple of the lifts was temperamental .

Stayed at the Plymouth Leonardo Hotel facilitating a medical training course. The business centre and conference rooms are great and one particular staff member - Scarlett Fraser was brilliant her customer service was outstanding - Thank you Scarlett.

Parking area was very dark and no lights

Unfortunately this place is looking very old, and out of date. But still very expensive. Car park is awful, shows use of drug use. Felt unsafe park, the hotel was limited dining but very overpriced. Sadly I would not recommend.

Room Door didn't close properly, always takes about 25 mins to check in due to one member of staff on the front desk, the bar always has a long queue for the same reason.

It’s the car parking that closes at 11pm - you have to pay for the car parking. There isn’t any sign anywhere to direct you to where you have to park. That is the only reason I won’t be going back - everything else was amazing.

The hotel felt tired and is in need of an upgrade. Whilst the bed was comfortable, the bathroom is very dated and I did not think the room was the cleanest. For example, there were long hairs and crumbs still on the table and desk. Location wise, the hotel is in a good spot and I was able to walk easily to the train station and shops. For what I needed, the hotel was fine.

Review for two rooms booked on 7th floor. Maybe we were just unlucky but we had some issues. Firstly the bed sheet had a black mould type stain on it. Maybe it was dirt but it looked like mould, and it was just below the pillow level so hardly hidden from view. We remade the bed ourselves with the mouldy bit at the feet end, but that was not ideal. Secondly in the morning there was no water at all in the room. Our family in the room next door had the same problem so we called reception for ages but nobody picked up. Eventually we got dressed and went down to reception to complain and it turned out that the entire 6th & 7th floors were without water. There were no rooms that we could use to shower, or brush our teeth or anything. While we waited for maintenance, we had our breakfast (£13 each) which was below average quality. All four coffee machines were faulty or needed attention, the hot food was like warm and by the time I waited for the fried eggs my plate of food was cold. While we were at breakfast the water was fixed but by the time we checked out we were very late getting to where we needed to be. On a positive, the staff were all friendly and helpful as best as they could be, especially at check-in and breakfast. The hotel is in a good location and was generally clean and tidy. The room was clean (except for the sheet) and fairly noise free over night.

Stayed only 1 night with family but the checkin with quick with friendly staff. The hotel and room were spotlessly clean.

Good Location, but the parking was disgusting. Its external parking & hotel charges £10 but lift doesn't work & its in bad condition. Room was not clean, bathroom had mould in places & carpet was disgusting, curtains & chairs had stains. Ac was leaking & even after reporting to reception no action was taken. Restaurant & bar staff were nice.

The receptionist was nice and polite but it was an only good point,the waiting time for check in was so long. We were not satisfied of our room cleaning stage and there was some rubbish from previous guest still there. Bed was uncomfortable and old. Parking was away from hotel and lift was broken and it was hard to carry the luggages.

Hotel was fine, there were however some cleanliness issues (old stains on carpet, smudged moth behind tv, scuffs on walls) but nothing so awful to make mention of them to the hotel staff. TV was a little dated and not connected to smart features and the complimentary bottle of water was never replaced at any point of our stay. Can't comment on bar or restaurant as they weren't used but staff were courteous and helpful and the overall comfort and facilities matched my expectations for the price and for a budget hotel offering.

This is in a great location but the room was a little grubby with the toilet needing to be flushed when we arrived and what felt like crumbs in the bed. The staff are helpful but their systems are soooo slow, taking a very long time to add anything to the room.

We had an enjoyable 2 night stay at leonardo Plymouth. The room (a family room) was fine for the money we paid. It was advertised as having two double beds but was actually a double and a small double/large single, so was a bit of a squeeze for a family of four. On arrival our room was set up for three, despite booking for four, so we needed to request more towels, mugs etc. the request wasn’t initially fulfilled so we had to ask again, which was a shame. The beds were incredibly comfortable and the sheets and pillows were in very good condition. We all slept well and felt well rested. The aircon in our room wasn’t working on the first night but was fixed when we reported it in the morning, which we were pleased about as it was warm and too noisy outside to have the window open. Breakfast was also pleasant - a good selection which was sometimes slow to be replenished, but it was a busy morning and we were not in a rush. The hotel was well located for the harbour and its restaurants and bars and the parking was reasonable at £10 per night. We would likely stay again, it certainly measures up to other chain hotels and was what we needed for our trip.

Stuffy room, poor air con and smelt of cigarettes, window locked and did not open at all. Could not breathe properly so could not sleep. Public toilet on ground floor in shocking state I won’t describe.

Overall good family rooms are a bit small compared to other Leonardo Hotels Other wise rest all good.

The rear access to the hotel (from the carpark) was unkempt. After booking a family room the staff asked if I really wanted both beds. This seemed odd to me. Without prompting I was told that I had been given an upgrade. It wasn’t clear to me what the upgrade was. I was given a family room which fitted the description and pictures I’d seen online at the time of booking. It can’t have been due to the view as the room faced the rear and from Floor 2 the view wasn’t great at all. Perhaps it was something else? If they’d have explained what the upgrade included that would have been better. When I enquired about breakfast I was told I would have to pay more in the morning than if I booked the night before and the explanation given was to do with the demands on the chef. I was also told that it wasn’t busy so could come down if I wanted to. This seemed contradictory. The positives were that the room was incredibly clean and comfortable, the housekeeping staff were very polite and incredibly professional in their conduct.

The hotel was very noisy and couldn’t sleep at night as too many people slamming their doors. Breakfast was below average and the room was terrible and cold

Would definitely go back, very convenient for the city centre but that obviously brought the only down side which was outside noise, sirens woke us up!

We’ve been here a few times over the past 3 years and have always returned. The main reason is the location and standard of the hotel. I would have given 4 stars but the air conditioning system was turned off during both nights we were staying which meant that we did not sleep very well and had to open the windows to the sound of motor vehicles, drunken people and screaming seagulls. The a/c started again around 5:00am but it was too late to make a difference as the nights sleep was already ruined. This was a pity as the hotel is quite good and staff are very friendly and polite.

I stay at this hotel whenever I go to Plymouth. The main criticism I have with it is that the rooms are so hot, and the air-conditioning switches off during the night. The beds are very small, and very uncomfortable, and the quilts are so heavy and thick, which coupled with the heat in the room makes for a very sleepless night. I just got back today from a weekend today, and did not get one minute of sleep last night, as the heat in the room, the uncomfortable bed, and the heavy duvet or came into play. Such a shame, because on the whole this is a really nice hotel. Great location, and great price.

Staff friendly, polite and helpful. Room clean and comfortable, but hotel is on a busy road which shouldn’t be a problem if the double glazing worked. It doesn’t and every sound from outside can be clearly heard (even passers-by conversations). Walls are bit thin also, so take ear plugs if you want/need a good sleep. Shower strength is a bit weak which is frustrating. Good selection at breakfast at a reasonable price. Overall, a pleasant and comfortable stay but needs improving if I’m going to stay there again.

Nightmare stay, all seemed ok just another hotel until we got woken up a 4.35am with someone coming into our room who the night porter let in. No apology from hotel, they just seemed to think it was ok to let a random stranger into our room Breakfast was awful aswell

Second visit. Check very slow due to only one person behind reception and a queue of 5 people. However, all staff were so friendly and helpful especially the bar man

Staff were exceptional. Special mention to the gentleman working the bar the evening we was there. Lovely chap, and couldnt be any more helpful or accommodating. Would definately return if working in the area again!

When booking it stated we would receive a complimentary drink each per stay, but when we arrived that information was not on our booking and nothing was was offered or received.

I stay in a lot of leonardo hotels around the country, and they are always clean comfortable and welcoming. However I can say that Plymouth Leonardos is above the rest. What sets them apart is the staff, they are helpful, accommodating, and full of personality. The Gentleman who checked me in around midnight on the 23rd of May was extremely helpful and funny. Just what I needed after a long journey. The restaurant staff at breakfast were helpful as was Ben who assisted with checking me out later the day and organising the conference room. All the staff are great, and I can only assume this is down to atmosphere the general manager creates to let this culture grow.

Excellent location, close to shops. Clean with friendly, helpful staff. We were visiting relatives so didn’t use the restaurant.

Great location, friendly & courteous staff, good breakfast spread, and clean & comfy room. Highly recommended. One minor suggestion would be to upgrade the shower door to prevent water from pooling in the bathroom area.

Situated in a brilliant spot ideal for an overnight visit off the ferry. Close to amenities.

Overall the hotel, was clean and welcoming. The breakfast was average and on busy days felt over crowded but the breakfast staff every morning was welcoming and food was replenished frequently and checked for temperatures which was pleasing to see high standards being taken. I am not sure they needed to cut mini bread rolls in half though but it seemed only to happen on the busy days. If you want a cooked breakfast every morning then it was worth it. We ate at the hotel one evening and this was in the bar area. It would have been nice if the resturant had been open for to be able to get an evening meal, however the bar staff especially the young girl whos name i forgot was extremely good. What I would say is the bar staff faced in my view a very rude customer but the young gentleman who had clearly just started his shift dealt with him polite and professionally and did not deserve to be spoken to by the person so rudely, really felt for him, these staff members are a credit to the hotel. The chef on the first morning made my little ones day by giving him an activity pack at breakfast. It kept him so entertained. Overall a good mini break stay, with clean rooms and easy access.

We did have a great stay here, fab location. The staff at reception were absolutely lovely. Rooms had all you needed in there and were comfy. The only negative was the breakfast, they had a great selection and all tasted good but is was warm at best, needed to be hotter as wasn’t cheap.

A quite mixed experience. We had a large, cosy room. But its bathroom, while mostly functional, gave a ramshackle impression. It had no working ventilation, so it stayed wet and steamy hours after showering. Staff at check-in were very friendly. At the bar the standard wines and spirits had run out so they tried selling the pricey stuff. Breakfast was a dud: poor availability of standard cooked breakfast items leading to queuing with impatient guests. The available items ( coffee, scrambled eggs, bread) were of subpar quality. I'm not sure whether I'll stay in a Leonardo again.

Great location, the room was good size and we even had a bath (which is a rarity in hotels nowadays it seems). Staff were lovely and the breakfast was excellent.

was unable to eat in the restaurant on any of my three nights as i was told there was no chance .I chose this hotel as it was advertised you had a great restaurant. So we had to eat in the bar where there was just one lady run off her feet doing the best she could. To top it all they did not have any steak dishes on the Saturday night and there would not not be any on Sunday because they could not be delivered. Very disappointed.
