Days Inn & Suites by Wyndham Springfield on I-44

We had a pop-up baseball tournament this past weekend and I quickly booked this hotel. NEVER AGAIN! We get there, get checked in and head to our room. On our way we noticed the pool was completely drained (my reason for booking was for the pool) We used the card to open the door, and it wouldn't budge, it was as though something was blocking it on the inside. My son had to use his shoulder to get it to open. Then when we get inside the room was not very clean. We immediatly went down to the front desk and let her know that we wasnt staying. The lady at the front desk gave me a card and told me to call on Monday and get a refund. I called this morning (Monday) and Amber the manager stated the pool is seasonal and they havent been able to get it up and going because of all the rain (which is crappy because the other hotel we stayed at the pool was working just fine) she stated I booked the room not the pool, I said no I booked the hotel because of the pool. She was rude and ultimately refused to give me a refund. So, I have to pay for a room we didn't even stay at but maybe 30 seconds. I would DEFINATLEY not stay at this hotel!

The room was way below what was expected. The paint job was a landlord special, paint all over the pictures and fixtures. The couch was from the 70s and had a massive stain on the mattress. The couch was also not clean, food crumbs all in it, therefore ants all in the pull-out bed. My daughter got bit 3 different times. The bathroom has no fan, so it was always full of moisture. Breakfast was just waffles, cereal and bagels and muffins, and maybe yogurt. So definitely not a normal breakfast you would expect. Pool wasn't that maintained, so we were not able to swim in it. It was definitely not what we were expecting when we booked the hotel. The pictures were very misleading.

For the second year in a row , the pool was closed, in August, plug outlet didn’t work by the sink black stuff down the back of the toilet

No working elevator... Hot water took 10 minutes just to get hot .. The so called breakfast was served out of a second floor room instead of in the office where things can be watched properly.... The beds are not comfortable.. And the highway noise was to much.... I will not stay there again for any reason

Not the best. Elevator was out of service. This should have been mentioned on the website. I had to walk up 3 flights of stairs with luggage.

Pool was not functional during summer season.

Room was clean but there were only 5/6 tv stations? The pool was closed . We have stayed here before and like the location

Breakfast choices were good. Pool was clean.

The sheets had black stains so we had to ask for new ones and then they didn’t even give us a bottom sheet. The electrical outlet by the desk was damaged and unusable. The desk chair fabric was ripped and deteriorated. Pool was closed despite warm weather.

I requested a first floor room, they gave me the third floor. I did pre-checkin on line and still had to do the normal check in when I arrived. The pool was closed and the pool was the reason I picked the hotel. The coffee pot was missing the filter. The hotel didn't have another and didn't assist me in any way ( like get one from another room) not the biggest deal but I was checking out before breakfast was served.

The photos of this hotel did not show what the property was really like. After getting telling him about the bugs, the receptionist shrugged it off like “oh well”. Then I told him about the blood and smear on the outside of the toilet. He still didn’t really care. Offered us another room but we left. We paid for a whole new hotel and didn’t stay here.

DO NOT BRING CHILDREN HERE VERY DANGEROUS!!! This hotel is by far the nastiest most disgusting hotels I’ve ever stayed in my life, there was standing water in the shower, mold all around the shower and the soap holder in the shower. The floors were covered in food and dirty hand prints (very obviously not from children) incredibly unsafe the door would not latch properly please for your safety and the safety of your family DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!

As I open door. You can smell cigarettes. Very strong odor. I could sleep. Sofa bed was super dirty. Carpet was not clean. Found roaches

The room was lacking and the staff was not helpful. Standing water in the tub drain, ceiling tiles in the bathroom above the toilet falling down and badly stained. Bed sheets looked as it they had been slept in, curtains had stains the phone was broken and the room is not kept in any fashion of good order. I did not stay. I arrived a day early and rented the room and then cancelled that room due to the conditions, the staff onsite did not offer a different room or anything. This was the most unsatisfied in a hotel in my entire life and I am almost 60 years old. Also tried to get intouch with Hotels.com but could not as the system was very hard to navigate but I did have the insurance and have submitted the claim.

The blanket had cigarette holes and black stuff on it. Definitely needs an upgrade.

My crew found roaches in the room and in the sheets. When brought to the attention of the front desk no refund was given. I do not recommend.

On a road trip, this was a last minute decision based on what felt like some inflated prices for the whole city. The front desk clerk was incredibly friendly. Absolutely 5 stars to her. The room was poorly maintained, dead insects lined up behind the door and also in the bathroom. The room has been ‘updated’ but it was clearly a rushed job. Normally I wouldn’t leave a review like this, but I do feel anyone else should know before choosing this location. Spend the extra 50-80 bucks and go next door.

Our recent stay at this hotel was disappointing due to several cleanliness and maintenance issues. The exterior areas leading to the rooms, including the elevator, were dirty and in need of painting. The luggage cart provided was too large to fit comfortably in the small elevator, making it difficult to transport our belongings. The room we were initially assigned had a non-functioning air conditioner because the wall socket was burned out and unusable. We were moved to a different room. The second room and bathroom were small and did not match the pictures advertised online. The furniture was old and worn some drawers wouldn't stay closed and the refrigerator had to be pulled out in order to open its door properly. The bathroom was in poor condition. It needed a deep cleaning, and the bathtub was very worn, with drainage problems causing water to pool during showers. On a positive note, it looked like the toilet and sink had been updated recently. The beds were surprisingly comfortable. The breakfast area, located on the second floor, was clean, but the breakfast selection itself was underwhelming and lacked variety. This property needs significant maintenance, cleaning, and updates to meet the expectations set by its online presence.

The price is ok. Our door would latch, but wouldn't lock. The refrigerator looks as if it needs defrosted, so the rest of the fridge is quite warm. The toilet isn't attached properly. Its propped up on top of paint sticks, so leaning one way or the other tilts the whole toilet. Staff is nice.

Didnt eat breakfast. Didnt go to the pool. Paint falling off the wall in the bathroom. Shower head was spraying everywhere and full of calcium. Tv was very fuzzy watching shows.

Difficulty opening front door to get in. Door handle fell off in my hand. I was locked out of the room. Maintenance man was out sick so the “painter” got me into the room. At 3:00 am water began dripping from the ceiling in the bathroom. a puddle and ceiling material was on the floor in the puddle and on the toilet. The bed & pillows were uncomfortable. The staff was nice and moved me to a new room for the second night. Generally, the property needs maintenance and repairs. I don’t plan to return.

Room was very clean but the jacuzzi tub was super small and jets didn’t work that great. Took along time for the whole suite to get cooled off as well. But overall nice and quite clean.

Ground floor corner room was adequate. Seemed not as advertised. Very small and felt run down. Very small restroom. The bed, however, was very clean and comfortable. Tv worked fine. Room was clean but seemed not recently cleaned. Other hotels for the same price are more decent, spacious, and safer.

Wyndham properties have gone downhill over the past few years IMO. Though the bed was comfortable for me and the water was hot for my shower, the room had dead bugs on the floors, a big hole in the Drywall/plaster behind the door, the bathroom fan did not work resulting in excess condensation to drip from the ceiling onto the floor. The room also had an empty spot for a refrigerator and smelled horribly of stale smoke. Fortunately we only had to stay 1 night, so we didn't complain at the time, pointed out the missing refrigerator and non functional bathroom fan at checkout.

I was given a room right facing the highway. So noisy!!!! I asked another room They gave me another one that was a bit better but still noisy. You can hear the traffic outside. Bad location.

Would not honor my reservation because my house was by ava. They dont rent to people who live within 60 mile radius. Ridiculous 😡

Very nice staff we had issue with are air and they put us in another room with no issue.

Stayed for 3 nights and had no housekeeping service at all. No one even asked if i needed anything.

Staff called hours before check-in to tell me they don't accept bookings if you live within 20 miles of the property.

Staff friendly and helpful. Room clean,bed comfortable,a little noisy early evening but quiet later and thru the night. Would stay again.

Staff were not helpful at all, and one front desk associate was very rude rolling eyes and just did not want to help at all. The same staff member (Steven) refused to give clean towels although I had been gone all day due to my car being stolen and wanted a shower. He is a terrible person to have at the front desk. Housekeeping staff were much more polite and helpful than front desk. Terrible experience.

So, I was told that the deposit fee was going to be waived for me and my partner due to their systems trying to overcharge us. When I booked it on hotels.com they said what you see is what you pay and they said no hidden fees well a $175 damages deposit when it’s only supposed to be a $100 is outrageous for a cheap hotel. Not only did our fee not get waived but they still charged us $175 and it never got refunded to our card and we did not trash the room so we spent $90 on the room and $175 on a deposit that we never got back so I will probably no longer be using this site or motel again due to this experience alone

The check in was slow. Had to post a $250 deposit hold on credit card that was not previously disclosed. Only one of our two pass cards keys worked. No maid service except to leave two clean towels in place of the 4 they removed. It is a room with regular bathroom / shower in one area and a jetted tub in a second area. Two towels? seriously? lol Was charged more than reservation indicated, besides the extra hold for deposit.

Staff was very accommodating. There was a mix up on my room but once that was addressed my stay was delightful

At check in i was informed that because i lived less than 60 miles from hotel, i could not stay at hotel! They do not allow locals no matter the reason. I had worked all day in the winter weather, pulled a double shift actually and just needed to sleep a few hour to return and open my store. I didnt want to make the 70 mile drive home due to being so tired. I was refused a room due to being local and money was refunded. I am absolutely dumbfounded. I will NEVER refer any of my business associates to this hotel.

It's OK for one night, but you'll sleep with one eye open. Sketchy neighborhood, sketchy property, sketchy guests.

The hotel itself was great. Staff was polite and professional. The surrounding area was a little unsafe. Twice during my stay I heard gun shots near by and saw what looked like several homeless in the surrounding area. I also had my car alarm set off on my second night. No damage though.

We did not enjoy our stay at this particular location. It was very noisy from traffic. The room smelled awful. The toilet kept clogging, the shower had two settings, scalding hot or burn your skin off hot and we felt unsafe on the property The room was clean but not up to par. The nicest thing I could say was that there is a Waffle House right next door and they had delicious coffee and good food.

Over all it was a good stay. The price was a good deal I thought. The rooms don't look exactly like they do in the photos. However it was clean and was a nice room. The only real complaint I have is noise. It is right off a highway and interchange, so noise is constant. Not something that can be helped, But tv and ac helped drown that out. The staff at check in and check out where very nice and personable. Lots of food, and activities near by.

Desk employee was very polite and willing to help in anyway possible. Great location and right on the route so didn't have to get involved in the hustle of the inner city.

The property is conveniently located to I-44. It is obviously an older hotel that has seen better days. While the rooms are relatively clean, both the rooms and the hotel in general display deferred maintenance and lack of updating. The hotel has apparently recently added an actual breakfast to its offering, and it was fairly good, although not as good as another hotel that I usually patronize in the area that is currently closed for renovations. A good place for a short stay.

Good location next to I44 and theres a Waffle House next door.

The hotel was clean. The breakfast was on the 2nd floor with a very narrow walkway getting to the room. This was very difficult to do in my mobility chair. The pool wasn't able to be in use, I'm guessing because even though it was mid June, it was still the last day of fall. The maintenance man left the water hose blocking the stair, which a you girl tripped over. My major complaint was when we got the room, we noticed the phone didn't work and there were 4 lights that the bulbs were blown. I requested assistance each day,cand was told it would be fixed. They were still not fixed 3 days later when we left. A hotel room with 4 bulbs out makes for a dark room. Other than that the hotel was acceptable for the price. Oh, almost forgot. The breakfast offers waffles, but the whole time we were there, they were out of waffle batter

It was slightly below average.. The rooms are small and not really clean. There were minimal choices at the breakfast buffet, mostly just waffles and bagels and fruit in a cup. The coffee in the room is better than the coffee at the breakfast bar.

Bed was comfortable. Room wasn't that big and bathroom was small. The breakfast was only a waffle maker, pre-packaged muffins, bagels sliced bread, containers of yogurt and a juice machine. It wasnt what i expected.

Pet friendly shouldn\'t mean "we can charge you extra". The included breakfast was a basket of prepackaged muffins and coffee.

I specifically chose this hotel over others because Expedia listed "breakfast included". It is NOT available at this hotel. I got ripped off!

Room smelled like smoke when we returned after being out all day… it wasn’t cleaned so no one should have been in there… I was a bit concerned because it was a non smoking room and I didn’t want to be blamed…we stay there usually when we go to the swap meet it works well for us… we did miss the breakfast … it has been replaced by breakfast bars , yogurt and muffins
