Key cards repeatedly did not work, after 4 failures which seemed to be my fault ? I said they need to get the lift fixed as it was hurting my knee going up and down to reception to get the key cards redone. The comment of "do i look like a lift engineer" was not a funny response from the person on reception Not a great experience and no indication of if lift will be fixed

Pros: Good location close to major motorways, with a pub, restaurant, shop and coffee shop within easy walking distance. A food menu available at the hotel. Clean rooms. Free parking. Reasonably priced. Friendly and accommodating staff. Dog friendly. Small kids play area downstairs. Meeting rooms available to hire. Quality bedding and linen. Free wifi. Hairdryer available. A window and central heating that you can adjust. Bar available downstairs. Good shower head and nice sized shower. Free body wash and shampoo. TV available. Cons: Very noisy. Lots of workers (during weekdays) and homeless people staying there who make lots of noise inside and outside the hotel during the night and in the early hours of the morning. Extremely loud noise from the staff using the fire escape stairwell doors after midnight, as these doors don't close quietly. Lots of litter e.g. beer cans, alcohol bottles and dog poo in the hotel car park. Local area feels quite unsafe to walk alone at night. No fridge or microwave available for use or hire. Sometimes our belongings were moved by cleaners. Mattresses quite hard. People stand out the front to smoke and vape despite there being a designated smoking area out the back, we didn't like taking our baby through a cloud of smoke every time we entered the hotel. Signs or staff politely letting patrons know might help reduce this. Inconsistent shower temperature fluctuating from hot to cool likely due to the type of water heater. No room service.

Ok except things seemed very tired and loose uneven floor tiles in the bathroom that sank and gave way when trodden on , lift was temperamental everything just seemed old tired and well used

Unable to get a drink at the bar on arrival before midnight. Also not allowed to drink our own supplied beer in the reception area, told to do that in a room, so that meant our conversation could have annoyed neighbours. A bad idea for other guests

All we needed was accommodation close to Liverpool for the title parade. We spent £61 which in comparison to anywhere else was a bargain. We parked up in the morning and didnt arrive back until late, reception staff were friendly and welcoming. Room clean and tidy with enough facilities. We didnt use but theres also a good space for breakfast and a bar, i would definitely stay again.

A lovely stay for a night at Haydock races. Nice decor in the rooms and bar areas. Pleasant staff, no issues whatsoever.

Had to asked to be moved after 1st night traffic noise really bad no sleep 1st night. Road behind hotel and road down the side lorries after lorries all night a joke. Needs better noise reduction mybe triple glazing but not good like driving though the room. Not enough car parking struggled to find car parking space and not big enough spaces for my car

Overall we had a very good stay for two nights. Room, Staff and cleanliness were all excellent. No actual room service - but you can have food on a tray and take it to your room. Breakfasts were very good - buffet service all you can eat. Quality of food was ok (their burgers were very good and home made). Good variety of food for a 3 -star hotel. Would happily stay again.

This is the second time I’ve stayed at this hotel, so obviously I’m pleased with my previous stay. The room on both occasions were spotlessly clean and fresh and all furniture and linen in great condition. Breakfast was excellent. All of the staff were pleasant. I had another enjoyable stay at Ibis Styles.

We dragged it onto the floor, seeing how old and worn out it actually was. Once upon the floor we realised it wasn't just the sofa bed metal he could feel but the mattress was just completely worn ans all springs could be felt. So all 3 of us ended up in the bed, hes 5ft 6 at 12, not fun. It being very late and the general manager had already told us how short staffed she was ar our check in we decided to put up with it. I put the duvet over rhe mattress on the floor and attempted to sleep, i think i managed an hour or so but as soon as i moved the metal just stuck into my body. Awful. We wanted to inform staff of the issue upon checking out but we waited for a while at reception and no one appeared. Also the bed sheets had holes in them, there's budget hotels everywhere in the uk now and we stay in many as we live at the other end of the country to our families, this is the poorest one we have stayed in to date.

The bathroom was dirty and the tiles on the floor looked very tired and the toilet absolutely stunk. Was advised to go down for breakfast after 8am to let all the workmen get their breakfast, which would have been fine, however the young man taking room numbers and supposedly keeping an eye on the breakfast buffet kept disappearing and I had to go to reception to ask for bread . The nice lady from reception brought bread and filled the empty food bar with beans, eggs, hash browns and bacon, all of which were empty. We've stayed at Ibis Styles in Haydock many times but Never again.

We have stayed here a few times over the years, the staff are very helpful and friendly and they are always walking around the building cleaning, even though the place is spotless.

We had to have the bed exchanged. The TV didnt work at first, the window wouldn't open as the handle was broken. Staff polite and helpful

Good Location and a basic room. No air conditioning, but a fan was available if requested. Hotel did have some long term/permeant residence too.

Good stay, a bit noisy but was on dual carraige way side, so would expect that.

Was very clean but unfortunately the noise from the busy road outside spoiled the break

Stayed for two nights due to going to Haydock races. Lovely hotel, staff friendly and helpful. The only downside was the noise in the room. Windows not at all soundproof. Could hear the main road, and the bins where directly under our window, so heard everytime they was used by hotel staff.

The hotel itself was fine but the location was awful. Right on a road which had non stop traffic day and night. The windows are shocking- they might as well have been open, they did nothing to dim the noise. Don’t go here if you want a night’s sleep.

I liked the size of the rooms. The posdibility of air conditioning would have been good.

The hotel was clean and the food was good but we did have one issue which was a bit worrying. Our key card wouldn't work, which I know can happen, so my husband went back to the reception. They checked the number and reissued the keycard. We got into the room this time...only to find other people's stuff in there. So for the 3rd time we went back to reception. My point is that I wouldn't like to think other people could get in our room in the same circumstances!! Not hood really.

Love the hotel, great staff who are both friendly and helpful. Stayed there a few times now and will go back again.

Room lovely! Location ideal Customer service horrible. I had to check out of my room at right time or I’d be charged!! I needed food and ordered it as none available in hotel. The staff clearly saw me eating food and I’d informed them I be sitting in lobby till it was time to go. The manager came over to me advised me I can’t eat food I got outside the hotel I couldn’t eat here. I’m not disputing the policy I wasn’t aware, the attitude was condescending and I felt like a bold child as if she was scolding me. All other staff that I saw over the weekend were very kind and helpful. Unfortunately this has put a dampener on my stay.

i went down for food but i was told i could not eat there due to workmen already eating. even though there was lots of tables free! had to end up ordering take away

the property was good however the noisy coming from East Lancashire Road made it very difficult sleep

Excellent value for money would stay again as so handy for Haydock park races and with a lovely pub on the door step.

Not a place to visit too Many homeless and rough people hanging about in entranceway smoking and loudly talking no sleep had to change rooms as exhausted with lack of sleep breakfast basic. No I wouldn’t recommend it

Good selection and hot

Stopped here following a day of celebration in Liverpool for the parade! Glad that we booked as after what was a long, wet day we were glad of the short drive and convenient location of this hotel! Staff were all superb and from greeting on booking in through to our lovely breakfast and departure the next day. The room was spot on for our needs, well equipped, comfortable, clean and quiet! Evening meal and relaxing in the lounge area were ideal after our hectic day! Would gladly return to this hotel in the future!

Unfortunately I can't rate the hotel with a full score - I have no complaints about the cleanliness or the quality of service, but the hotel is located on a fairly busy road and the noise gets into the room (especially in the evening and morning it's really quite unpleasant). Another complaint I have is about the restaurant - if you want to order a meal, you have to book a time slot in advance (in my case, dinner, where I was offered a time slot up to two hours later)

Everything fine except a poor breakfast, bacon like leather sausage like tough rubber. Scrambled egg awful. Might have been left on the hot plates a long time.
