Although the hotel was undergoing building work to increase capacity there was no intrusion from mess or noise. The only downside was the noise from the A14 trunk road which runs close by, as due to unseasonal hot weather required the window needing wide opening for ventilation. Breakfast was ample with variety of choice. Requires a tidy up of the car parking area as it would appear that the builders are using it as well and leaving a lot of rubbish behind.

Nice hotel, with friendly staff, that could be so much better. Spoilt by some night time noise from the nearby A14 and the bar closing at 10 PM each night. One of our group arrived a night later than booked, and despite telling reception and the room being pre-paid, his room had been given to someone else when he arrived. Fortunately another room was found but it still caused mayhem when paying for breakfasts.

Arrived around 3pm, asked if room was ready, the receptionist said yes but it will be £10 extra for early check in, how rude, so we had to wait in the car park for a hour to get our key, will never stay hear again. We couldn’t even go in the bar and wait as there was a private funeral in there

Comfortable hotel, on the outskirts of Bury St Edmunds. We knew about the building works in the grounds up front, not an issue. The room was hot as the radiator would not turn right off. The shower was very poor, hot enough but lacked flow! On the up side the bed was comfy and the hotel rooms quiet.

Hotel adequate, would describe as a little tired! Breakfast a little expensive for the quality Self check awful and pointless. Please please please bring back the personal touch and a member of staff. The lady that helped our failing try was helpful and pleasant! Would have been easier and quicker without the machine and it's not paperless so don't use that excuse. Grounds pleasant but a sign by the entrance would be a great help as the sat Nav isn't accurate!

Pros Friendly staff Clean room Good free car park inc EV charging Cons Room quite small, window small so not much light Restaurant menu very basic, usual burgers, pizza , fish n chips etc Didn’t look appealing so I ate elsewhere Breakfast was very basic, not much choice , no pastries and only one 2 slice toaster for the whole restaurant! This caused a back log and long wait. On check out, no ‘how was your room ? Questions, just thanks and goodbye which I get a lot in the hotels I stay in Not sure I would stay again, was just average

Nice quick check in,room nice and clean and beds very comfortable.Bathroom nice and clean ,plenty of towels , toiletries provided.Was a hairdryer,only thing would have been nice to have a socket near a mirror when drying your hair.This room we had this time was a lot noiser from all the traffic .Breakfast had plenty of choice ,nice to have brand name cereals,cooked breakfast was okay but mushrooms were nearly raw and fried eggs were quite rubbery looking and hard

Toilet still had last persons mess in it , electrics tripped in the night, only lights worked. No power to tv or any electrical socket. I didn’t report, until the next morning, as was after 10pm

Was a bit unfriendly. Shower had mouldy seals. Lights in room ceiling was out. Heater wasn't working so had to use fan heater. Was noisy. Shame because it was nice and quiet other than that, despite the strong smell of drugs...room 322

To start off my hotel room smelled really bad. Every time I entered the room I was hit with a stench to which felt like it came from the carpet itself then to top it off, with every flush you could smell the sewer. Although this property is known to locals, the sign of the hotel should be a bit more visible for visitors new in the area. In addition, I wish it was advertised that the room has no AC. Although the heat bothered me, the smell was so much that that’s all I could focus on with the fear of the smell would stay on my clothes. But aside from that, great staff, lots of parking space and nice dinning area.

The room that was allocated to me was facing the A14, but as the soundproofing was woefully inadequate, I did not get a very good nights sleep due to loud traffic noise throughout the night.

noisy rooms,A14 can be heard everywhere, weird noisy extraction fan on all the time even with the bathroom light OFF, rubbish buffet breakfast, (£100 a night!), cold water tap not working and could not be fixed at the weekend . . .

Rooms were basic, but of a good size and neat and tidy. Bathroom and shared areas looked of recent new quality. Bed wasn't bad and we slept pretty well for being in a hotel. We were lucky though as our room was furthest from the A14 so little to no noise. For the price, in this area, cant be beaten, and very convenient location for us.

Like to watch fire TV stick. 1st room HDMI port was broken so switched rooms. 2nd room was the same. 2 singles beds pushed together to make a double, which are slightly different heights so not overly comfortable. Average experience on this occasion.

Lovely hotel, just the room had no main light so it was a bit dark, also the shower was nice apart for the temperature control, it was either cold or hot just couldn’t get a happy medium. Breakfast the next morning was really good.

Booking in staff not helpful no info given to me when they finally finished talking about there private life and booked me in, the bathroom wasnt fully cleaned ,the breakfast was a farce waiting for each dish as it ran out , under staffed,and to top it all i wasnt given the room i paid extra for awaiting a reply from hotel and head office for a refund on my room option i will not be using this company again

Overall initial impression was good, Ordered for evening meal and waited an hour for the food although the restaurant wasn't busy. Breakfast both mornings seemed to have one waitress rushing everywhere, people waiting for buffet to be refilled, sausages, bacon , hash browns orange juice etc all brought by this single waitress. Our room wasn't serviced after tbe first night, so wehad get coffee, milk from reception. We paid as much for our stay here as other hotels, where the service in the rooms and restaurant was spot on. I hope this is a one off.

The young receptionist/bar person (I didn’t get her name but she is slim with dark hair and a tattoo on her upper body) was extremely accommodating and so helpful. I had a lot of work to do in my room but needed to have a meal. I asked if I could eat my meal in my room, so ordered it and began to wait. She very kindly offered to deliver the meal to my room when it was ready. The meal was delivered 15 minutes later by this lovely young lady and with a smile. Great customer service, thank you so much.

I had a lot of work to do in my room but needed to have a meal. I asked if I could eat my meal in my room, so ordered it and began to wait. She very kindly offered to deliver the meal to my room when it was ready. The meal was delivered 15 minutes later by this lovely young lady and with a smile. Great customer service, thank you so much.

Hotel adequate, would describe as a little tired! Breakfast a little expensive for the quality Self check awful and pointless. Please please please bring back the personal touch and a member of staff. The lady that helped our failing try was helpful and pleasant! Would have been easier and quicker without the machine and it's not paperless so don't use that excuse. Grounds pleasant but a sign by the entrance would be a great help as the sat Nav isn't accurate!

Booked for a one night stay as hotel was a reasonably short drive to a gig at Thetford Forest. Extremely friendly and helpful member of staff on duty who explained the self check in process (very straightforward). Room was clean and perfectly equipped and adequate for our needs. No noise from neighbouring rooms/corridor/outside etc and we had a great nights sleep. Hotel was a pleasant 20 min or so walk in to Bury St Edmunds. Would not hesitate to book again.

This was recommended due to us attending a friend's wedding in Bury St Edmunds .It was easy to get too & was plenty of parking. We arrived at 1pm but could not access our room, which was ready, until 2pm. We were told there was an extra charge of £10 to have access before 2pm, which we did not do. It is within walking distance of Bury town centre & a taxi cost around £8. Not impressed with the breakfast, there was no bacon left & the rest was just about warm. Could see no staff to ask. The table had also not been cleaned, it was covered in crumbs & was all sticky with what looked like where glasses had been the night before. The interior is a bit dated, but the room was adequate for our 2 night stay. Was very noisy on the first night with inconsiderate people banging doors in the early hours & having TV very loud, solved with earplugs. Not sure I would stay there again.

Really nice hotel: large room with comfortable bed and a very good shower. Friendly reception. Comments: the entrance gate is not obvious as instead of the hotel sign it says "authorised vehicles only". The same sign is all over the car park but you are authorised as soon as you have registered your car at reception so ignore it!

Overall initial impression was good, Ordered for evening meal and waited an hour for the food although the restaurant wasn't busy. Breakfast both mornings seemed to have one waitress rushing everywhere, people waiting for buffet to be refilled, sausages, bacon , hash browns orange juice etc all brought by this single waitress. Our room wasn't serviced after tbe first night, so wehad get coffee, milk from reception. We paid as much for our stay here as other hotels, where the service in the rooms and restaurant was spot on. I hope this is a one off.

The room was nice and the bed was comfortable. The main downside we had was the breakfast when we went down there wasn't much of a selection and what they did have was cold or had been out for a while. Overall the room is worth the price but the breakfast isn't.

Lovely hotel, just the room had no main light so it was a bit dark, also the shower was nice apart for the temperature control, it was either cold or hot just couldn’t get a happy medium. Breakfast the next morning was really good.

Pros Friendly staff Clean room Good free car park inc EV charging Cons Room quite small, window small so not much light Restaurant menu very basic, usual burgers, pizza , fish n chips etc Didn’t look appealing so I ate elsewhere Breakfast was very basic, not much choice , no pastries and only one 2 slice toaster for the whole restaurant! This caused a back log and long wait. On check out, no ‘how was your room ? Questions, just thanks and goodbye which I get a lot in the hotels I stay in Not sure I would stay again, was just average

Room was good, place was clean, staff friendly. We had a fire alarm at 6am which then went off, and came back on again after about 1 minute. Was on long enough for us to jump up, start chucking clothes on, but not get out of the room. Not sure on the cause, but wasn’t ideal. Breakfast was a bit of a let down. Very sorry looking, nothing topped up, what was out wasn’t in great shape! Few odd bits of over ripe basic fruit, one mini croissant uncovered, no other pastries, no mugs left for coffee. Even at £12 each, I felt it was far from great. Would stay again, but skip the breakfast.

Toilet didnt fkush in our room. I had to use the showerhead myself to get it to clear away. Did let staff know and they informed us that maintanance would sort it after we left. This didnt help us. The tv was also dodgy, kept showing a black screen and only the the commentary of the programs, it would then come on fully on a totally diferent channel and you had to slowly scroll ir it went off again. Again mentioned it to staff. My evening meal was not as descibed. I ordered spiced arriabata pasta with fresh mozzeralla and basil. I got pasta in a very bland tomato sauce. no spice or mozzerella. The staff were very good and apologised . Apparently it was a locum chef. I was issued with snacks for the room to compensate. The other meals were very nice. It served its purpose but probably wouldnt stay again

One tiny grudge was that there were no vegan options for breakfast which was weird as they had vegan evening meals (the Moving Mountains burger was excellent). Shame as a couple of vegan sausages or bacon isn't difficult to do. Ended up with mushrooms, beans and a hash brown so not the end of the world and they did have dairy free milks for hot drinks. Other than that the hotel was lovely and would definitely stay again.
