Fairfield Inn & Suites-Washington DC

I was here for a brief overnight work trip. The staff was very friendly and helpful, but the hotel itself needs work. One of the elevators wasn't working, the hallways were FREEZING cold (like in the 50-degree range), and the gym was pretty sad (small, no water, no cleaning wipes to disinfect equipment). My room did not have a security latch and the privacy lock did not work. It was very affordable compared to other local hotels and the free breakfast was decent. I'd probably still stay here again, but it didn't live up to other Fairfield Inn experiences.

Mixed reviews on this one. For starters, the room and bathroom were clean, the lobby and dining area were clean and breakfast was a typical breakfast. When extra towels requested, they were prompt. The desk staff members were friendly. The AC worked great but it was very noisy if turned from 74° to 72°. They sent someone to try to fix it but he just said it was a brand new compressor and it could t be fixed. So, 74° was what we kept the temp at in room 600. Both elevators were a bit horrific. If elevators freak you out, find a different hotel. They were noisy, shimmied all the way up and down, and bounced around a few times before finally staying where they needed to—every time. My daughter opted to walk up and down 6 floors every time we came and went.

The gym could have included the cables. Otherwise, the gym was sufficient.

Hidden parking fees

This place has had false advertising on their website for over 5 years! It says they offer a free shuttle to uniton station several times a day. They said that they haven’t offered that since Covid. They acknowledge that they know it’s on the website and still don’t take it off. Unbelievable! This cost of much more than we anticipated due to having to take Ubers.

My stay was great! But didn’t like the parking fee per night.

We have to pay for the parking lot

PAID 20 DOLLARS PER DAY FOR PARKING. I BOOKED 2 ROOMS FOR 5 DAYS WITH A BILL OF 2,000 DOLLARS. SHOULD NOT THEN BE CHARGED TO PARK

Parking is not free even though they have a big lot and plenty of spaces to park.

No pool take off the pictures of the pool and hot spa.

Dirty room random hairs from someone everywhere, ants, spiders and lots of dust and dirt. Also the information about location and whats near is very wrong.

Super clean and comfortable room. Just walking into the hotel it feels, looks and smells clean The only negative is paying for parking, it's not even in a garage to say keep car safe. But other than that I would chose to stay at this place again.

This was one of the cleanest hotels I have ever stayed in!

The room was stinky. I guess it was the air conditioner making that unpleasant smell. Not in Marriott standards for sure.

Did not like my stay at all very unsatisfied. The had roaches.

Hotel was clean and I will stay there again if I return to DC. My only issue is that I would ask to be on the side of the hotel opposite the road traffic travels. Thursday was not bad, but it was very noisy Friday night. We could hear traffic all night. We loved their continental breakfast and the employees were very friendly and addressed our needs. Front desk staff was very helpful, he even gave us dining suggestions.

The internet was down during my entire stay

The room is very clean, the staff very friendly and professional. The only thing is that the windows are not sound proof, so the fact that the hotel is by the side of a busy street might affect sleeping if someone cannot sleep well with background noise

The staff was very nice and helpful. The only bad thing is the sofa bed. It was very lumpy and uncomfortable.

It is super noisy / no way you can sleep if you sleep light - very busy intersection - will not stay there.

The bed was uncomfortable because the mattress was worn , very uneven …. Woke with some discomfort in my back . I will not refer this place to anyone nor will I stay there again

It’s very small and tight space for a sweet

WiFi in the room was not working. Spent time with the support line and they recognized there was an issue but could not fix it. The AC unit was extremely loud.

Front desk workers were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was tasty!

One of your front desk staff signed me up for marriott bonvoy without my permission. That's cheating. You're supposed to ask if we want to sign up, not do it automatically. I got the message TODAY 12.22.2025. I do not want to be a member. Also please fix the elevator buttons, we had to use the 5th floor and stairs to get to the 4th floor.

The front desk staff, in particular a younger girl is extremely rude and unhelpful. The hotel should really tell you if housekeeping is every other day. When I inquired as to why the room wasn’t cleaned, that’s when I was informed. We had a lot of trash and needed some cups and she told me no. I wanted at least the trash removed. Breakfast buffet food did not taste good at all. They did have chocolate milk which my son liked. On the third day of our stay, when housekeeping was supposed to clean the room…they did now. We returned tired and looking forward to a clean room and no. It was 4:30 in the afternoon. I was super upset and the room was cleaned but we had to wait in the lobby for 30 minutes. Marriott should be ashamed of this hotel and the staff. I would never recommend it to anyone

I stayed for two nights on business travel. My stay was a positive experience- all the front desk staff were very friendly. I genuinely enjoyed my interactions with them. My room was functional, clean, and efficient. It had everything I needed. On-site parking was easy and was $23.60 a day. The hotel has a great breakfast with extended hours compared to other places I’ve stayed. The breakfast started at 5:30 and most places don’t start until 9:00. The TV, air, heat, and everything else worked with no issues whatsoever in my room. The housekeeper also emptied the trash and refreshed my towels- this was a nice and unexpected touch. Pro tip: if you go to the McDonald’s across the street- walk don’t drive. It will take you 15 minutes to drive there. LOL. Easy enough using Uber to and from the hotel.

We had excellent service and recommendations from Victor Conyers upon arrival and check in. All of the attractions that he recommended for us were exactly what we were looking for during our getaway.

It's quite far away from city center and is only transit connected via bus that makes most trips require a transfer and take about an hour. There is also a transfer shuttle to Union station listed on the website, but that service doesn't actually exist. Had I known that, I would have booked at another location and saved myself the hassle and expense of having to use rideshares to get to and from with my luggage. That information really needs to be removed from the website. There also needs to be better communication from the hotel to maintenance and housekeeping about occupancy. I arrived after my indicated check-in time and still within the first hour of my stay had two staff members walk into the room unannounced. It wasn't their fault as they both thought the room was unoccupied, but it was an unacceptable oversight on the part of the hotel to not communicate that the room was now occupied. The second interruption I was in the middle of changing clothes and the only reason I wasn't exposed in front of a stranger was that the first interruption had made me cautious enough to use the additional latch that stopped the door from fully opening. The final issue I had was with breakfast being cleared ahead of the window given. The website says until nine thirty, but it was already cleared away when I went down just after nine.

Everything was excellent — the hotel is clean, comfortable, and very welcoming. The staff is polite and helpful, especially Chris, who greeted us warmly and quickly arranged our room when we arrived exhausted after a long train trip. His kindness and efficiency made a great first impression, and we truly enjoyed our stay.

Stayed a night. The person in the front was very rude. I asked for extra towel since the room only had 3 and we are a family of 4. The lady said no, it was 11pm and everyone was off for the day.

Front desk staff is really poor but everything else was ok

The positive was the hotel was clean and the staff friendly. The neighbor the hotel was in I did not feel safe. I let the hotel and went to another hotel downtown at a cheaper rate. Even my Uber driver questioned why was I at this hotel.

The hotel description here claimed to be near a metro stop. Upon arrival, they told us the nearest metro stop was a 10 minute drive away. And parking was 23$ per night. For the cost of the hotel, and the hassle of getting downtown, we should have just stayed closer to downtown. The area around the hotel is also a little sketchy.

Great staff and great location closeby to Washington attractions

The room was nice and comfortable, and the breakfast was hardy to get you fueled up for a day of walking around DC. It was close enough to the action for us. The surrounding area wasn’t very nice but we weren’t there for that.

The staff was a delight and the room was very clean. I just did t like the area where the hotel was located.

Clean room, staff was nice. Only downsides were simple breakfast only served pork and my family doesn’t eat pork also they don’t tell you about the no smoking policy on the entire property (even inside your vehicle) and they keep your deposit if you smoke on the property. It’s like a scam to keep your deposit. There’s a single notice on the front door that makes it seem as if you can’t smoke in the common area in front of the hotel but they don’t tell you when checking in that you can’t smoke on the property at all until they actually see you and try to keep your deposit so i would just stay clear of that. But otherwise it was a nice stay the beds and pillows were comfortable, wonderful water pressure from the shower, the room was clean I had a great stay other than what was previously stated.

Best hotel we have ever stayed at. It was clean, friendly staff, and outstanding buffet.

Breakfast needed more variety

Was in the area for a concert, the staff was extremely friendly and very accommodating. The breakfast was hot and fresh. Will Saturday again next time in DC.

It was a very well kept hotel. We chose breakfast over a pool. Boy did it work out wonderfully. The breakfast was fantastic. We really enjoyed our stay. We'll stay at a Fairfield on our next vacation also.

The front desk clerk during our check-in on Thursday was amazing. Probably the best. However, the manager was not as professional and respectful as the clerk. The manager should be more respectful and courtesy to all guest not just the Caucasian ones. The breakfast needs more of a variety not the same items daily. One last thing the hotel should inform its guest housekeeping is only provide by request.

The breakfast wast not enough. All the days are the same things. You need to put some fresh cutting fruits and different kind of eggs.
