Breakfast was great and was served promptly,would have been nice to have the restaurant as an option. We ended up having fish n chips in the evening because we couldn't get a table anywhere. You guys could be missing a trick there.

This is a nice hotel in a truly spectaculair situation. And what a vieuw! If you’re looking for luxury and large rooms this is not for you. But it is in a building with character and charm. Nice room and bathroom, clean, good bed and pillows and a good breakfast with plenty of choice. Carpets on the floor, not my favorite in any hotel, not hygiënic. For eldery people the roads are steep and slippery (cobblestones). No parking. Rye is truly charming, well worth a visit!

Room was clean and the bed comfortable. On arival its obvious the reception desk is now missing and check in is via the bar. Evening meals are still not available and the draft pumps have been removed from the bar. Feels like its being wound down, but i guess this is reflected in the price.

Yet again a good visit to this hotel. I must say though that they seemed to have stepped up all the levels at everything. The 4 staff that me met on this one evening stay were Brilliant in their attentive manners to Customer Service . Well done to them !! So looking forward to another visit in 2024 . There was only one downside and that was the change in the hotels permit parking arrangements as parking outside was now limited to between the hours of 6pm - 9am and in howling weathers and senior age is difficult.

Yet again a good visit to this hotel. I must say though that they seemed to have stepped up all the levels at everything. Great place to stay if visiting Rye town, ideal for walking around and visiting pubs and restaurants in town , no driving required, although you will have to leave your car in public car park. Clean and tidy hotel with good views from many of the rooms, of particular note is the excellent breakfast served daily. Would recommend.

Had a really nice stay, the rooms were clean & the breakfast really good. Unfortunately the restaurant wasn’t open in the evening so it needed a short walk into the main street to find a restaurant or pub. However, the flip side is that it’s very quiet there and it’s a lovely walk down sone beautiful old cobbled streets.

A lovely welcome on arrival, comfortable room with a wonderful view. Great shower, good size of room. Just TV, No netflix or other streaming service. Great service, easy to top up tea, coffee, fresh milk etc. No car park but easy walking distance to other car parks. Near plenty of places to eat. In a lovely, historic part of Rye with lots to see.

Nice and quiet in the evenings. Lovely views. Bit of a pain with the parking and having to walk up steps with my luggage from the car park in town, but the stay and view was worth it.

We only stayed the one night, and would definitely book here again. The staff were extemely helpful and friendly and the hotel was clean and tidy. Our room could probably do with an update, but it was clean, spacious, and had a great view. Breakfast was very nice with a great choice of hot drinks and huices as well as both a cold selection buffet, and a cooked breakfast option, all included in our booking. Overall we were vey happy with our stay.

the Hope Anchor is in a lovely location, at the top of the old town of Rye with views down the valley. The room was comfortable and it and the bathroom were well equipped. The downsides were that it could have been cleaner, a former residents hair in the bathroom for instance and the welcome wasn't exactly effusive.

Excellent breakfast. Don’t like sage in my sausage but was admonished by my family for grumbling about it. Apparently sage goes with pork. Fabulous friendly staff, lovely central hotel, clean comfortable rooms. Will return.

Within the old town, so no parking. Hotel could use some attention, just sweeping the butts off the front steps and removing the dead plant would be good. It was fine for the 1 night, breakfast was good. Rye is lovely.

Booked a family room with friend. This room was very spacious with an ample sized bathroom beds pillows were very comfortable nice linen and towels. We found the counter fridge in the room an added bonus. The hotel has a bar. It has a lovely view of the area. Staff are very helpful and pleasant. Maintenance issue we had with the room was dealt with within 10 minutes of reporting. There is a large choice in respect of hot or continental choices for breakfast. I would add that both my friend and I have stayed at this hotel on a number of occassions

Stunning building and location. Bedroom and view was great. Very welcoming, friendly and helpful staff. I had a lovely peaceful breakfast too. Only negatives to report; tv reception needs looking at and the shower was very noisy with low pressure but otherwise everything was great and i enjoyed my stay! I would stay again for sure!

The heating was turned off in the room so it was freezing cold for the one night I stayed. By the time it was rectified after I spoke to the manager the next morning it was only an hour before checkout and it did not have time to heat up.

Hotel is old but charming. The room was bigger than expected. Had a room for 3. Had a big bed in one space and a twin bed in the other room. We faced the harbor so opened windows to get a nice breeze. They provided a fan which helped bc our room was pretty warm as they do not have ac. Breakfast was nice and included with room rate. Service was great. Did have a time figuring out how to flush the toilet. Other than that we enjoyed our stay and the town. Very friendly folks, great shopping and restaurants. Close to the beach.

My wife and I overnighted in the superb Hope and Anchor Hotel, I thoroughly recommend this to anyone. A fantastic location, lovely views, polite attentive staff. Warm quiet and clean cosy room with Four posted bed; great bathroom spacing and in the morning one of the best breakfasts we’ve ever had when away (and it was included with the stay which we found was a generous bonus). I made a special request via email for flowers and chocolates on arrival and I’ve please to say this was graciously carried out, my wife was surprised; I was pleased, we both very much content in our comfortable stay. The receptionist was kind; smiley and a joy for us to both deal with. I really can’t say more than if you’re in Rye, want a professional and cared for stay; book the Hope and Anchor for it!

Very lovely staff. Great brekafast with lots of options. Delicious pastries! The location is perfect in Rye. Nice view,located on oke of the old cobble stone roads. I would definitely stay here again

On top of a hill. Very kind and helpful staff for me to drop off my luggage before check in, and after check out Breakfast is quite good, and the room as fantastic views over the fields, and part of the town Rye is very small so super walkable wherever you stay. Enjoy this place next to the Mermaid street, and the charming town overall

Great place to stay if visiting Rye town, ideal for walking around and visiting pubs and restaurants in town , no driving required, although you will have to leave your car in public car park. Clean and tidy hotel with good views from many of the rooms, of particular note is the excellent breakfast served daily. Would recommend.

A lovely welcome on arrival, comfortable room with a wonderful view. Great shower, good size of room. Just TV, No netflix or other streaming service. Great service, easy to top up tea, coffee, fresh milk etc. No car park but easy walking distance to other car parks. Near plenty of places to eat. In a lovely, historic part of Rye with lots to see.

An excellent stay, brilliantly located in the old town with great views. Well worth the windy drive through the quirky streets and bag drop off. Room was outstanding, very comfy bed and good suite. Breakfast was also fantastic with great range of choice. Best weekend stay hotel we’ve ever had.

Nice and quiet in the evenings. Lovely views. Bit of a pain with the parking and having to walk up steps with my luggage from the car park in town, but the stay and view was worth it.

Breakfast was great and was served promptly,would have been nice to have the restaurant as an option. We ended up having fish n chips in the evening because we couldn't get a table anywhere. You guys could be missing a trick there.

The hotel needs a make over and complete redecoration. The bathroom was shabby with broken floor tiles. The toilet seat was ill fitting Choices for the cooked breakfast were limited

Excellent breakfast. Don’t like sage in my sausage but was admonished by my family for grumbling about it. Apparently sage goes with pork. Fabulous friendly staff, lovely central hotel, clean comfortable rooms. Will return.

Our room had paint flaking off the window sill and a triangular window with no blind/ curtain. We couldn't open the windows more that a couple of inches without pigeons coming into the room which happened once. Staff were great, food was great.

Nice small hotell. Do not let google maps fool you to do the stairs fra The Strand, walk up Traders passage. Rooms and bathroom was nice, the place itself could use some more TLC. Traditional English breakfasts. Very nice to see Rye which we loved

It was clean and homely. Might need a few renovations as it’s clearly well used over the years like the windows don’t stay open without a stopper which is quite dangerous and the ceilings a bit cracked but not falling apart at all just well lived over the years. The bed was the most comfortable bed Ive ever had the pleasure of sleeping in and the breakfast was delicious. Beautiful view from my room - worth every penny just wish they had a late check out option!

I was having trouble finding the hotel and the hotel staff was kind enough to stay with me on the phone, guiding me through the unfamiliar town. So kind! Would stay here again!
