We chose the hotel as it is near Bewl water where our son was test-driving a new hovercraft for HoverAid. It was very convenient and we had a lovely room facing the golf course. W enjoyed our swim in the pool although sadly the floor in the tiny changing area was very wet and dirty - more matting is needed to allow you to walk over wet areas. Breakfasts were good, especially the full English, with plentof fruit , yoghurt etc in addition. The pancake with maple syrup was a pile of American panckes not a thin English one that was expecting. Food in the Orangery was ok though I ordered a Chicken burger advertised as with gherkins, beef tomato and lettuce which I thought would be served on the side - when it came the gherkin was three slices of one gherkin, so thin you could see through them, and one thin slice of tomato all crammed under the burger. The bacon on top was hard as was the cheese. My husband had fish and chips which was quite small although the chunky chips were lovely. I saw another serving the next night and that fish looked much better and bigger so it's the luck of the draw. Overall we enjoyed our stay and were very comfortable. The hotel is lovely but just needs a little TLC to make it really smart.

Stayed one night for an early morning run in Bedgebury which was really convenient. Staff were superb, room was large and clean, parking was easy. They even let us use the facilities to shower after the run despite having checked out already. Will definitely be using this hotel again for future running events and staying in this area

Service was great hotel and room were good spacious and clean. Pool area was in need of a good clean and some basic maintenance. Changing area was dirty and needed a regular clean floors extremely wet and dirty

We were really happy with our stay. The girl at reception was great, the room was clean and comfortable. We visited the pro shop and another charming young lady helped us. Breakfast was freshly cooked and tasty. We couldn’t really fault our stay for what was a very reasonable price. Small pool but more than adequate for our needs

Overnight stay and booked two rounds of golf. Lovely setting, communal ateas and rooms are a bit tired but clean and pleasant, There was no air con in rooms and it was very warm. Our shower had a silver fish walking around in it and the basin and shower did not drain properly. The toilets in the bar upstairs also smelt awful suggesting a wider drainage issue. The restaurant was fabulous - breakfast and particularly dinner were excellent and staff were really friendly. Both golf courses in fantastic condition and very quiet which was fabulous although my score did not reflect that! Will definitely return for another stay.

It could be a lovely hotel but it was all a bit dated and not very clean. Our room had a fusty smell. I thought perhaps it was a smoking room but there was a No smoking sign in the room. The day before arrival I did receive notification that the double room I had booked was no longer available and hence I would have to make do with a twin bedded room. Perhaps someone else complained about the room and took my double bed room instead. The bottom runner of the patio doors was filthy and there was dust in various areas of the room including the back of the TV and the hand soap dispenser. When we arrived in the room a dirty mug with water had been left in the room and the tea and coffee tray had not been restocked. The changing rooms for the leisure facilities wasn't particularly clean and a few areas around the swimming pool had mould. The TV was an old model and we couldn't increase the volume and it didn't have subtitles so we couldn't hear it very well. There was no hair dryer in the room. I did mention this to reception and they just kept apologising. I wouldn't have minded but we did pay £169 per night bed and breakfast and the night before we paid less than a third for a hotel which was much better. I can't comment on the golf facilities as we didn't use them. The breakfast had the standard choices but was nothing special. Some of the food did not get topped up - ie. chocolate croissants and it would have been nice to have some fresh crusty bread.

We wanted a couple of days away in the area. Although my husband did bring his clubs and played 6 holes, we are not really "golfers". I think we set our expectations too high thinking that to stay on a golf course would be better than it turned out to be. Staff were lovely and really helpful, but our room was frankly exhausted from over use. TV only switched on/off by the mains switch, bathroom door didn't close quietly, no fridge was a huge surprise too, beds were comfortable, but pillows resembled slabs of foam and pillow cases didn't fit. The first room offered to us faced the car park which we didn't want, so another room was found and that faced the swimming pool. Much better, until we realised the air-con was just outside and noisy. There were golfing events on during our short stay. No need to describe the noise level with several tables of 6 x men enjoying a drink and food! You had to shout to hear each other. So we have learnt that this hotel is not for us for future stays. Oh, the Pro Shop and staff are commendable!

Bedroom spacious. The lace curtains in the bedroom window, the window itself, cill and surround could do with cleaning as could the shower door surround. (we did report this when we left) The carpet still had a hair grip and sparkles on it from the previous guest and would have benefitted from another hoovering. These are details admittedly but still noticeable. Swimming pool not big enough for adults to swim in as only a splash pool for children Staff very pleasant and breakfasts were very good - ran out of smoked salmon, though! We will stay again however and recommend it generally.

The room was nice, it was a good size and clean. Unfortunately for us thats where the positives end. The lounge area was covered in cobwebs round the windows and not great. We didnt enjoy the meal which was also overpriced and ended up payng for a 2nd meal when i complained about it and chose someone else. Also the sauna didn't work both nights we were there which was really upsetting as this snd the pool was a big part of why we chose the hotel.

Reception staff were friendly and pleasant. However the room was very dirty. Shower was covered in mould and bathroom didnt seem like it had been cleaned properly at all. Carpet was dirty and stained in places. Bedding had stains and marks all over it. Overall was generally just very run down and in need of updating.

Made to feel welcome from the start, give a plate of cheese and mini cakes and some fruit , would be nice with some crackers with the cheese and maybe some small plates and knifes . Room clean , fresh towels and clean . Only thing to moan about is the windows, need a good clean.

This is a lovely hotel, situated in a gorgeous setting. Lots of places to visit locally. The staff were friendly, professional and helpful at all times. Our room was very small and rather tired. There was no hanging space for our clothes. There was mould on the net curtains. This part of the hotel needs an upgrade urgently. Food in the restaurant was excellent.

1 night stay on business. Room was on the ground floor which is fine but with only a patio window there is no was to securely cool the room. Room was hot and despite my best effort remained so. No fan or way to create a breeze. Breakfast states starts a 7am but this is the second occasion where come 7-10am I have had to leave as hot food was not out. Disappointed

Friendly staff especially on reception and at breakfast. Our room was very spacious and had everything we needed. Didn’t get to use the facilities but enjoyed our stay.

It was lovely and quiet and very pleasant with the balcony. I would say the pillows could do with renewing. Unfortunately we left our iPad there which you phoned us about and said you would send after you’ve organised postage. If you could let us know how much it is we would be grateful as we use it quite a lot and would appreciate its speedy return.

We wanted a couple of days away in the area. Although my husband did bring his clubs and played 6 holes, we are not really "golfers". I think we set our expectations too high thinking that to stay on a golf course would be better than it turned out to be. Staff were lovely and really helpful, but our room was frankly exhausted from over use. TV only switched on/off by the mains switch, bathroom door didn't close quietly, no fridge was a huge surprise too, beds were comfortable, but pillows resembled slabs of foam and pillow cases didn't fit. The first room offered to us faced the car park which we didn't want, so another room was found and that faced the swimming pool. Much better, until we realised the air-con was just outside and noisy. There were golfing events on during our short stay. No need to describe the noise level with several tables of 6 x men enjoying a drink and food! You had to shout to hear each other. So we have learnt that this hotel is not for us for future stays. Oh, the Pro Shop and staff are commendable!

This is a lovely hotel, situated in a gorgeous setting. Lots of places to visit locally. The staff were friendly, professional and helpful at all times. Our room was very small and rather tired. There was no hanging space for our clothes. There was mould on the net curtains. This part of the hotel needs an upgrade urgently. Food in the restaurant was excellent.

Arrived to be checked in staff were lovely I have to say that and got to my room to find the double room I had booked was a twin, was told I booked a standard room which you are allocated a double or a twin which was not what was on my booking but she did try to move me but there was no availability, I don’t know why they can’t have separate bookings for the twins and doubles like every other hotel so you know what your getting, dinner order was bought out incorrectly cooked missing but but was corrected very quickly and staff were excellent. Breakfast was lovely again but it to another customer making a joke for someone to actually take my hot food order so over all ok but not great experience

1 night stay on business. Room was on the ground floor which is fine but with only a patio window there is no was to securely cool the room. Room was hot and despite my best effort remained so. No fan or way to create a breeze. Breakfast states starts a 7am but this is the second occasion where come 7-10am I have had to leave as hot food was not out. Disappointed

Stayed one night for an early morning run in Bedgebury which was really convenient. Staff were superb, room was large and clean, parking was easy. We chose the hotel as it is near Bewl water where our son was test-driving a new hovercraft for HoverAid. It was very convenient and we had a lovely room facing the golf course. W enjoyed our swim in the pool although sadly the floor in the tiny changing area was very wet and dirty - more matting is needed to allow you to walk over wet areas. Breakfasts were good, especially the full English, with plentof fruit , yoghurt etc in addition. The pancake with maple syrup was a pile of American panckes not a thin English one that was expecting. Food in the Orangery was ok though I ordered a Chicken burger advertised as with gherkins, beef tomato and lettuce which I thought would be served on the side - when it came the gherkin was three slices of one gherkin, so thin you could see through them, and one thin slice of tomato all crammed under the burger. The bacon on top was hard as was the cheese. My husband had fish and chips which was quite small although the chunky chips were lovely. I saw another serving the next night and that fish looked much better and bigger so it's the luck of the draw. Overall we enjoyed our stay and were very comfortable. The hotel is lovely but just needs a little TLC to make it really smart.

I was staying there for a wedding that was 4 miles away. If you need a taxi, then this is not the place for you or the area for you. There are ZERO taxis in the area. Other than that - great hotel.

Overnight stay and booked two rounds of golf. Lovely setting, communal ateas and rooms are a bit tired but clean and pleasant, There was no air con in rooms and it was very warm. Our shower had a silver fish walking around in it and the basin and shower did not drain properly. The toilets in the bar upstairs also smelt awful suggesting a wider drainage issue. The restaurant was fabulous - breakfast and particularly dinner were excellent and staff were really friendly. The hotel was in a nice, quiet position with easy parking. We liked the design and outlay of the rooms. The lounge was large and comfortable and the breakfast was extremely good with a good choice of both hot and cold food. Although our room was only a small double we were, however, surprised that there was no wardrobe in the room to hang our clothes but only a few hooks above the ironing board and, then, only one hanger was supplied. The drawers in the room were, also, only quite small and would only take a few items of clothing. Overall, we enjoyed a very pleasant stay.

We were really happy with our stay. The girl at reception was great, the room was clean and comfortable. We visited the pro shop and another charming young lady helped us. Breakfast was freshly cooked and tasty. We couldn’t really fault our stay for what was a very reasonable price. Small pool but more than adequate for our needs

Chambre familiale très grande et agréable. Lit confortable (un second oreiller sur le lit enfant aurait été un plus appréciable). Lieu très tranquille et calme. L’ensemble est certes pas à la point de la modernité mais c’est tout ce qu’on aime trouver dans un hôtel agréable. La climatisation n’est pas utile la nuit il suffit d’ouvrir les fenêtres et il fait frais même au mois d’août. Petit déjeuner très bien et parking ample.

We stayed one night and were pleasantly surprised by the very large and comfortable room which was very clean and well furnished. After a good nights sleep we enjoyed the excellent breakfast and lovely views from the first floor restaurant. All the staff were friendly and helpful. We look forward to staying again.

Nice place. Views from the bars are great. Food good staff helpful and friendly. Says all rooms have a private furnished patio. Not the case. All the rooms on my level shared same patio and no furniture. Also my room reeked of damp.
