The Welcombe Hotel, Sure Hotel Collection by Best Western

Lovely hotel. A bit tired around the edges. Staff very good in all areas. Spa excellent. Lovely grounds.

Breakfast was poor. No fresh fruit or honey, week coffee, sugar rich cereals. I asked for some fruit and was told they had run out until a delivery at 12.

Misleading hotel booking We were sent to another place a km away instead of in the main building. The main building looks royal in the photos. This one was a bland building with a terrible approach road, made of apartments, where we had to lug our luggage up a flight of stairs. There was no one to be seen from the hotel at this place. Not one soul. We had to drive to the main building for breakfast. And we paid handsomely for what we thought was the privilege of staying in a regal hotel. This should be listed as a separate property and not as the Welcombe. This is not ethical.

We got lost on the way to the hotel as we took the second turn in however after asking a few staff around we got there. The spa was nice though we had to take our towels from the room as there were issues with delivery to the spa. The foot massage pools were not working but the rejuvenating pool outside was a nice surprise. The steam room and sauna are on the side of women’s changing rooms and that felt a bit uncomfortable as anyone could walk into the women’s changing rooms with the door open at all times. Also I could not keep an eye on my 10 years old son from there so I was not able to use it. The breakfast was lovely. Lots of choice. The grounds are nice
