Lovely small hotel with heated swimming pool, restaurant and bar and parking. Staff were very welcoming and helpful. My room was nice although very close to reception which meant I could hear (and see!) comings and goings until 10pmish. Liked the small friendly atmosphere around the place.

Lovely hotel with very friendly & attentive staff. Comfortable, spacious room with a view of the garden & pool. Stayed for 4 nights in May, the pool is heated and was warm enough for refreshing swim! Plenty of loungers around the pool area too. Top quality dinners in the restaurant, lots of choice at breakfast.

Lovely hotel, food, staff, pool and location. Staff were all friendly and helpful. Used the local buses as the stop was right outside the hotel but easy walking to places too. Great stay.

From start to finish I received excellent customer service. Great communication when I booked the hotel. All staff are very welcoming and friendly. Hotel is beautiful and very modern and clean. Restaurant was lovely and amazing food. Great location to start and finish a walk and very close to the airport.

Excellent food, very clean with good daily room service, very pleasant staff. Only downside is access to the separate accommodation block. There are 8 very steep steps, then for upstairs rooms a staircase with curves meaning it is difficult to take suitcases up.

We were fortunate to have an upgrade to the poolside rooms, which were lovely. The room and hotel were clean, the staff were friendly and courteous and the evening meal and breakfast for myself was perfect. My wife is a little picky so had to order off menu, but the staff tried to accommodate her request.

I was very comfortable in my room & it was well-appointed. The staff were very friendly & efficient. The food was good & well-presented. The only downsides to the room I occupied were that the windows would not close properly & I felt the potential to be overlooked so kept the curtains closed much of the time.

Our stay here was amazing! The hotel is beautiful, clean and comfortable. The food is excellent. The staff were extremely helpful, polite, friendly and happy! Guernesey is a beautiful island. We would definitely return to this hotel.

Friendly, local hotel. Busy restaurant (guests and non guests) which is always a good sign. Room a bit dated, but fine for the price. 10 minutes taxi to the airport, but be warned Guernsey taxis are extortionate.

Great find. The staff were very welcoming and friendly, without exception. The room was clean , bed comfortable and bathroom a good size considering we had the cozy room and were told it was small. It was plenty big enough for us, although the bed was a smallish double The restaurant served some delicious food and offered a variety of different dishes. Would definitely recommend

Such a lovely hotel on the south side of the island. It’s close to the airport but not so close to be noisy. There is a bus stop right outside which was really helpful as we didn’t hire a car. There are some lovely cliff top walks straight from the hotel. The rooms were huge, and the staff couldn’t have been more helpful. We’ll definitely be back!

Lady that checked us in was so kind She managed to get a newspaper for my son and daughter in law from two days previous. My daughter in law had run the guernsey marathon and was featured in the guernsey press! We had a lovely meal in restaurant too Hotel was quiet ( which is so important) and very clean. Room had both a shower and bath which were fantastic. Thank you Can’t wait to come back!

We were fortunate to have an upgrade to the poolside rooms, which were lovely. The room and hotel were clean, the staff were friendly and courteous and the evening meal and breakfast for myself was perfect. My wife is a little picky so had to order off menu, but the staff tried to accommodate her request.

Excellent service thank you. I should particularly like to complement Joshua and the dining room staff for their friendly and efficient attitude and the chef for excellent food prep. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay, thank you.

A lovely rural hotel in the parish of St. Martin, about 10 minutes drive from the airport and 15-20 minutes from St. Peter Port. Located on narrow, winding roads, the hotel provides an excellent base for exploring the island. Reception is friendly, efficient and knowledgeable, rooms are nicely decorated, beds are comfortable, and bathrooms with walk-in shower are spotless. Efficient and capable staff freshen up the room each day. There is a pool and a large sitting area outside (but not in use due to inclement weather during our stay). As for clientele, La Barbarie appears to have a loyal following of older seniors who return annually. The hotel has ample parking and is serviced by a local bus that runs past the property.

Lovely hotel in a great location, well maintained. Cliff top walks and the bus stop minutes away. Very warm friendly staff and the food was absolutely excellent. We will return again which is something we rarely do with hotels as we enjoy staying in different places.

From start to finish I received excellent customer service. Great communication when I booked the hotel. All staff are very welcoming and friendly. Hotel is beautiful and very modern and clean. Restaurant was lovely and amazing food. Great location to start and finish a walk and very close to the airport.

Lovely hotel, food, staff, pool and location. Staff were all friendly and helpful. Used the local buses as the stop was right outside the hotel but easy walking to places too. Great stay.

Fabulous hotel, lovely staff regardless of their role at the hotel. Conveniently 10 minutes taxi ride from airport. Room was outstanding and the shower/bathroom to die for. Gorgeous food, ate at hotel on three evenings and enjoyed the fresh fish on each occasion. Portions are big and it would be difficult to find better prepared food elsewhere on the Island. (We dined at the award winning La Nautique Restaurant on the 4th evening and it was on a par with that produced at La Barbarie) No.81 bust stop outside hotel with good service into St Peter Port if you wish not to drive. Certainly one of the most comfortable, welcoming hotels we have ever stayed in. We will be back and certainly hoping to stay at La Barbarie. Well done all, a credit.x

Such a lovely hotel on the south side of the island. It’s close to the airport but not so close to be noisy. There is a bus stop right outside which was really helpful as we didn’t hire a car. There are some lovely cliff top walks straight from the hotel. The rooms were huge, and the staff couldn’t have been more helpful. We’ll definitely be back!

We had a wonderful stay at this charming hotel! Located in a beautiful area of the island with a convenient bus stop just outside, the staff was friendly & fabulous, the food was excellent, rooms comfortable & clean! Would happily return again & again if possible!

Lovely hotel with very friendly & attentive staff. Comfortable, spacious room with a view of the garden & pool. Stayed for 4 nights in May, the pool is heated and was warm enough for refreshing swim! Plenty of loungers around the pool area too. Top quality dinners in the restaurant, lots of choice at breakfast.

Everything about the hotel and room was great. Very helpful smiling staff. Food was excellent and very reasonably priced. Only issue was that although we informed the hotel of a food intolerance prior to booking (and told it would be no problem) the only solution offered was to remove items with no substitution. However this should not detract from our experience overall - we would definitely book again.

The swimming pool was heated and well maintained and we had 3 days of eating breakfast and evening dinner in the restaurant and every meal was superb with friendly attentive staff.

Really lovely clean hotel with a excellent restaurant although bar snacks are not available after 6.45 pm so you are a bit limited but the food was delicious and tasty The staff were very friendly and helpful Would stay there again

What a lovely hidden away gem of a hotel in such a quiet area of Guernsey. Upgraded room on arrival, spotlessly lean such a great outlook. Staff couldn’t have been more helpful and all service was with a smile. The team here is fantastic, nothing was too much trouble. Food was excellent both in terms of breakfast and evening meal which we sampled on our first night.

Two night Staycation with my wife. My wife is a little difficult when choosing food, but the hotel was happy to meet in advance of our arrival so my wife could pre-order alternative meals for both nights. Lovely pool and sun bathing area - extremely lovely breakfast and evening meal. And we had asked for a fridge in the room which was also fulfilled.

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour à l'Hotel La Barbarie. Il y a juste un point à faire attention lors de la réservation sur Hotels.com : un lit King Size à La Barbarie fait 130 x 190 cm, mais si vous voulez un vrai King Size Français 180 x 200 cm il faut ajouter 15 livres de plus par nuité. Tenez en compte dans votre réservation.

Amazing hotel in every way. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming from the moment we arrived. The room was immaculate. Breakfast every morning was delicious with very polite staff. The heating and air conditioning worked really well in the room. We would definitely return here.
