Holiday Inn Express & Suites West by IHG

The elevator was broken and my room was in the third floor. They did not offer a room on a lower level, nor had it available.

We arrived at the hotel at 645pm and did not get a room until 8pm when check in should’ve been at 3. Also the elevators were out and our room was right by the stair well and heard the door open and close all night

Hotel was nice. Conveniently located. Was told after I arrived and checked in that the hotel elevator was broke. I was there for 2 days for an event, my room was on the 3rd floor! Nothing I could do, due to the fact I had a late arrival and I had already booked this room in advance!!

(1) Elevator was broken and we were given a room on the 3rd (top) floor. Elevator was inoperative as of 6 days prior according to front desk and I received no advance notice or warning. They were not able to accommodate a request to move to the first floor. Carrying our bags up and down the stairs was not expected or appreciated. No accommodation to assist us with bags was offered. Had I known in advance, I would not have stayed here. (2) Front desk person at check-in had almost zero customer interfacing skills, and treated me like I was interrupting her phone surfing time. Not friendly or welcoming. (3) The room was in disrepair with broken and multiple loose tiles inside the room door, among other things. (4) no towels in the workout room--towels were supposedly provided but not stocked and had to go to the front desk. (5) No water in the water cooler in the workout room. (6) Noisy room (outside and inside noise)

No hot water and elevator didn’t work!

My family and I stayed at The Holiday Inn Express near Shreveport to attend the Society of Krewe Mardi Gras Parade. Upon arrival, I was informed the elevator was not in service and my room was on the 3rd floor. That night was good, but in the morning, the breakfast service was unable to keep up with the amount of people using the benefit and I had to settle for oatmeal even though there was an hour and a half remaining. The last night after the parade was the worst. For some reason, my door was not opening with either of my key cards. The management on duty tried to open it but lacked the technical skills to do so and we were told to wait for the maintenance man to arrive in the morning. We were given another room to sleep in but our luggage was in the locked room. My wife and I are both diabetic and require CPAP machines to sleep and both of those things were in our locked room. Thankfully, we did not need the diabetes meds for an emergency, but our sleep was horrible without the CPAP. The maintenance man showed up the next morning and had the door open in 5 minutes. The Holiday Inn Management refused to offer any compensation other than an apology. In their opinion, since they gave us another room the situation was square. We slept in the clothes we were to the parade, but that was no concern nor the two and a half hours of them trying to open the door unsuccessfully that night. I understand things happen, but at least attempt to do right.

On February 21st and 22nd, we had a deeply disappointing experience at your hotel. Our two-room reservation was not ready at the 3 PM check-in time, resulting in a three-hour wait in the lobby. Furthermore, the elevators were out of service, a fact not disclosed until after we had already unloaded our car. This posed significant challenges given my health conditions (knee and hip replacements, stroke, and partial vision impairment). The lack of communication and assistance regarding room availability and the elevator malfunction was unacceptable. I request a review of this matter and a response at your earliest convenience. This was the WORSE stay at Holiday Inn & Suites EVER’n The statement about the elevators was not given to us until we had our keys already in hand. Space I have a physical disability where I’m unable to walk downstairs. So this inconvenience should have been something that was looked into. I would not have known to ask them about the elevator. This is a serious situation. How does a hotel not inform people of the broken elevators. And also, I was informed that the hotel elevators has been broken for 3 WEEKS!! That’s crazy. I’ve already sent this information to the hotel. I’m looking for a corporate information. I love Holiday Inn & Suites whether express or regular. I really don’t know the difference. The elevator was out of service and no one said anything until I arrived and I had to go to the fourth floor and then there were loud people in the hall till 4:00am I called the front desk twice and asked them to go up and tell them to go to their rooms nothing happens

Elevators broken. Reserved king bed given 2 doubles. Sent to cold dirty stairwell to pack my luggage up to my room

All elevators are broken and was given two rooms on the top (fourth) floor claiming nothing else is available even though parking lot is half full. In one room shower doesnt work and room just smells damp. The other room is dirty and bathroom essentials are empty bottles. Not to mentio the toilet runs constantly all night

Room only had 2 sets of towels when reservation was specifically for 4 people. When I went to ask for more towels, I was told they were out 5. Tub was not clean when we got there 6. The nicest thing about hotel was the lady preparing breakfast. She was very friendly and pleasant.

The property is in a run down area. The bathtub in our room backed up, was not in good condition.

The toilet seat had a cigarette burn on it. It should be replaced for overall quality. The room reeked of pet urine. Died down over time. Large bath towel had pubic hairs. Used hand towel to dry off. Used Q-tip on the floor near the head of the bed on the left. Carpet needs to be shampooed. Obviously unkept. Regretted not having my shower slippers. Breakfast was very nice. Staff was very courteous, overall. Tighten up on quality assurance. Check every room after cleaning for accountability.

IHG should be ashamed of this property. Check in took nearly 45 minutes as sole staff member did not know how to use the computer system. Room was filthy with mud stains on the walls and floors and beds were made up despite being soiled and stained. Staff had to come up to change the sheets and provided a comforter without a duvet cover, leaving me to sleep with only a sheet and one clean pillow. My stay was worse than a night in jail. Never again. Better still, I paid via Hotels.com and got charged again by the property which required five (5!) calls to reach the manager for a refund on the double charge. NEVER. AGAIN.

Parking area was close, convenient, and well lit. Room was quite clean and good sized. Good price booked through hotels, but hotel did accidentally double-charge us for room, charging our Amex even though we had already paid in full ahead of time on another card. Awaiting them to correct this.

DO NOT STAY HERE! We walked into our room and it was so hot and humid. It had a really bad smell. Our floors were dirty, it is extremely outdated. We had our 5 month old baby with us and this was not the place for us. To top off our stay as we settled for bed we saw a big roach on our wall. We called the front desk, they asked to relocate us to a different room but other rooms would have been just as bad. We asked for a refund but they refused due to booking through a third party. We contacted Expedia and they contacted the property and they still refused. We paid almost $200 for a room that appeared to be a $50 room. If you like to be able to sleep and rest in peace without the thought of bug crawling in your room then do not stay here! We had our family staying in a different room and their room was just as dirty. We stayed here as we read previous reviews and it showed that it was a clean and perfect place to stay. However, it is not what people say to be.

The property was clean rooms clean.

The hotel was in a run down area where a lot of scrap metal around with torn down buildings. When we got there people were waiting because the rooms had not been cleaned. We were headed to a retirement party and had to change in the bathroom hallway because our room was not ready. The hotel also smelled like dog.

The hotel itself was good but a very small lobby. I liked that it had a small grocery area to buy chips, candy, soda and small food items. It even had board games you can check out to play. The lady that checked us in was excellent, she was friendly and efficient. The breakfast was really tasty and fresh surprisingly. The lady in the breakfast area was also nice and helpful. She kept the food stocked. My only complaint was once we entered our room it had a strong smell of coffee. My husband started inspecting the bed to make sure it was clean and discovered a huge stain of coffee wasted on the sheets. The stain was also on the side of the mattress. The cleaning person tried to hide the stain by tucking it toward the back of the bed. It was freshly wasted coffee because the smell was overpowering. I'm appalled that the cleaning person would even think that was acceptable to leave like that. Even more so to think the guest was not going to smell it and discover. We went back downstairs to notify and the manager over housekeeping was there and we showed the pictures. He instantly apologized and said he would correct it. Him and another employee went upstairs cleaned the mattress and put freshly sheets and pillowcases on the bed. They also recleaned the counter tops and dressers as they weren't cleaned. Loved the way he handled it. I loved the fact our room had 2 tvs and sitting area. The customer service was on point from all we interacted with. Would stay again.

Very clean rooms and very nice staff

The doors to the suites need painting badly, the carpets were not clean. When you opened the light to the bathroom, a very noisy fan turns on, there was only one switch for both the light and fan. The internet is very bad, you can not do any work on your laptop.

Bed and pillows were awesome no to hard or soft. Location is great. 10-15 minutes from casinos. We had a late check-in 2am and clerk allowed us late check-out 12pm. Did not try breakfast but it is available. Did not try pool but was very clean.

Only draw back to this great place , was the highway noise

We stayed here on a recent road trip passing through. The check-in process isn’t the smoothest, but I booked through a third-party site, so if I used my IHG app, it may have been better. The room was spacious and it was mostly clean. (found a flosser on the floor). There is only one elevator for the building, so it was slow. It was especially tough with a pet and our room on the 4th floor. The breakfast options were ok.

Boiler room noise on my side of building. Very loud and ear plugs (by front desk) mildly helped. It literally vibrated my room all night. Front desk glas (lovely) refunded me 50% instead of moving me and it WAS NOT sold out, no way. Shady area, crappy windows. Do better for the price. NO airport shuttle either, total joke!

WiFi signal was weak on the 1st floor, where I was near Lobby.

Property seems old and needs updating. Front desk staff was great- really friendly too. The hotel was very close to freeway. We could hear the traffic going by from our room.

Great staff, very helpful. I lost an Samsung smart watch, and they helped me searched until i found it. Awesomeness and very clean room

When we checked in, the front staff was super friendly!! Everyone was kind and helpful! The following morning, the breakfast staff even offered to pack us to-go bags for the rest of our drive!! Everyone went above and beyond!!

Everything was excellent except for a 100.00 as a deposit..With this acknowledge maybe it can changed.

My stay here was good for the short stay. The breakfast was decent but the time served should be extended to 10am. Now what I didn't like was being ignored by the person at check in. I walked in stood at the desk infront of the person and had to wait a few minutes before she acknowledged I was there.

They should display the 100 dollar security deposit/incidental charge as it is unusal for the area. The staff i think feels bad having to ask for that at a road side holiday inn. Mamager and trainee were very friendly and professional at even 2am when i arrived. Then when i woke up by housekeeping loudly kncking to inform me i didn't have late check at 1145am seemed a bit rude. I have late checkouts on my account status i believe but would have been happy to pay since i didnt request it at 2am instead of being woke up that way. Maybe call my cell or the room phone if it works.

Deandra made our stay perfect. She went above and beyond as we were tired after a long day of traveling and delayed flights. Ay requests or needs she was available and made sure it happened. We would definitely stay there again!

Convenient to the interstate, AC worked well. Door lock did not operate smoothly One key card did not work.

The area was posted as high crime and to lock all doors. We did not feel comfortable staying there, so we left and stayed another place.

Nearly new, well kept hotel, reasonable prices, convenient to I-20 route.

Airport property. Convenient to Shreveport Regional so you should expect the air traffic noise. Not that bad actually.

Signs on area not to leave things in your car made me worry about area hotel was in.

TV Chanel’s available was poor. AC did not work in first room. Pillows were terrible. Roaches in breakfast area. Artificial eggs were awful.

The breakfast could have been better and although we went towards the end of breakfast, they were out of most everything.

Bed very comfortable , shower and bath good with lots of hot water. Fairly clean. Lots of parking. My husband threw up immediately after eating g the breakfast. We think it was the gravy. Otherwise food place to stay.

The people here were very friendly: However, there were a few things that I did not like. Our room was beside a transformer that and that was also the view from our room. It buzzed all night making it very difficult to sleep. There was not bath soap in the shower. It was empty. I had the same problem with this Holiday Inn Express as the one before it. There was also very little . food left in the serving area. There were omelets that were better than most, but there was only one bagel and no other bread for toasting. There were no cinnamon rolls and the coffee container was empty. No one was wiping the tables. This is not what I have come to expect form IHG. What is wrong with the hotels in the south?

Popcorn machine in the lobby for the guests, but had no popcorn in it. Dispenser with lemonade in it for the guests but no cups for the lemonade. Pillows on the bed were very hard. Breakfast the next morning the pancake maker was broken. The juice dispenser was broken. There was no milk available for the cereal. The staff was all very nice but management and maintenance needed some work.

Property has friendly staff and the breakfast is good. Very good service! I didn’t have any problems at all.

Breakfast was terrible. No coffee, no ice water, and juice machine was broken.

Room was clean and neat, staff was professional and kind , breakfast was delicious
