Everytime I go to Harrison/NJ I love to stay in the hotel. I have been staying sporadic since 2008, each time is a wonderful experience, my family also enjoy the staying. Staff is really nice, rooms are exceptionally clean, amenities are awesome, location is great, parking lot in the complex is limited, there is an ample parking lot right next door, which is convenient, which is just a little scary to go back and forth after 7pm, the area is under a bridge, and kind dark.

We arrived at the hotel and the system was down. We waited in the lobby for about an hour before we could get a room. It was late. We were tired and hungry. Bathtub was dirty and moldy. And, housekeeper walked in on us three times without knocking before check out time. Other than that, everything was fine.

Horrible.. We were overcharged for the stay. The front desk agent was very disrespectful and offensive. After paying for the room and being charged twice the amount required for deposits, the front desk agent threatened to deny us access to the room. The room had hair all over the bathroom. The bathroom was not cleaned. The toilet was broken and would not stop running water. The bathroom counter was falling apart. The bedding was dirty. The carpet was grimy. The room smells of mold. The shower was dirty. The front desk agent cared more about charging our card than ensuring that we had a safe and clean place to stay. The best part of the facility was the lobby. Once you entered into the elevator, which got stuck multiple times, and apparently was not properly wired because the elevator buttons did not function as intended. The elevator was shaking. Moreover there were exposed electrical wires in the bathroom. This was one of the worst stays I ever had and am I significantly disappointed that this is a Hilton brand hotel. We were so digusted that we barely took photos. I wish I took more photos.

The staff was amazing, everyone I talked to was helpful and kind and took care of everything I needed quickly and efficiently. The room was super spacious, the staff was amazingly nice and the amenities were great. The lobby area is beautiful and well kept, breakfast was good and the pool was very nice. Our room was clean (has a couple of issues, Ac unit and the toilet - but a phone call to front desk solved those quickly). We were impressed and would definitely stay again.

This hotel is out of the way from NYC which is where we were visiting but it is close enough to trains to get to NYC. The area itself although it had some restaurants within a 10 minute walk was not worth a visit per se. The hotel was good and the room was good. You did hear trains going by frequently if your room is on the river side.

Had an absolute horrid experience at the Hampton Inn and Suites - Harrison Newark Riverwalk property. This has to be the worst experience i have had in a hotel so far. We had to wait for nearly an hour to be checked in to our room and the front desk manager was unnecessarily rude and arrogant and went to the extent of saying "I am not obligated to help you or speak with you". Never Coming back here ever again!

Overall a great stay. Two nights and i would book this location again. My wife was leary of the reviews saying staff was rude and other issues but Tim at the front desk was an example of 5 star hotel level hospitality. Courteous and helpful at all times. Friendly and outgoing. Earnestly interested in ensuring your stay is all that they can provide. I didnt catch the bartender's name but drinks were well made and very much worth the cost. She was feiendly amd accommodating when asking for special drinks.

This was by far the worst experience we've had at a Hilton property. I strongly advise against staying here until Hilton addresses the serious behavioral issues with the front desk staff. We were incorrectly charged for parking despite not using the service—staff made the assumption simply because they saw us loading our car. When we tried to explain the situation, they refused to listen and told us to contact Hilton’s online customer service instead. When we insisted on resolving the issue before leaving, the front desk employee escalated the situation unnecessarily, going so far as to threaten us and call the Harrison police. Ironically, it was only after the police arrived that the hotel finally adjusted the incorrect charges on my credit card. We are a well-traveled family and have stayed at Hilton properties across the country, but we have never been treated with such disrespect and hostility. This experience was not only frustrating but deeply humiliating. Hilton must take this matter seriously if they care about protecting their brand reputation.

We were incorrectly charged for parking despite not using the service—staff made the assumption simply because they saw us loading our car. When we tried to explain the situation, they refused to listen and told us to contact Hilton’s online customer service instead. When we insisted on resolving the issue before leaving, the front desk employee escalated the situation unnecessarily, going so far as to threaten us and call the Harrison police. Ironically, it was only after the police arrived that the hotel finally adjusted the incorrect charges on my credit card. We are a well-traveled family and have stayed at Hilton properties across the country, but we have never been treated with such disrespect and hostility. This experience was not only frustrating but deeply humiliating. Hilton must take this matter seriously if they care about protecting their brand reputation.

My stay was very mixed. The Manager and morning reception were excellent. And they were responsive to helping with what had gone wrong the night before. For the fist time in all of my hotel stays, I was given a key to a room that was already occupied and walked in on a very surprised guest. When I brought this to the attention of the person who gave me the key, she seemed more concerned with her cell phone than with making things right. But, it ended well thanks to the manager.

We had a wonderful stay. My family were in town for a convention in NYC. It was a quick uber ride to NY. We stayed on the water side which had a nice view. There is a train that runs outside but it didn't bother us any. The town itself if a bit rundown and some parts seem a bit unsafe, however, the hotel and immediate surrounding area was ok. We would sray here again.

The staff were fantastic. The bed was super comfortable. The room was clean. The buffet breakfast was a little less than expected for a Hampton Inn. Not a very walkable area, but easy enough to Uber. No trouble getting a parking spot there in the middle of the day on a Tuesday. We just left our car there and used public transportation and Uber while we were there. It was easy to get to off the highway.

This hotel is out of the way from NYC which is where we were visiting but it is close enough to trains to get to NYC. The area itself although it had some restaurants within a 10 minute walk was not worth a visit per se. The hotel was good and the room was good. You did hear trains going by frequently if your room is on the river side.

Everytime I go to Harrison/NJ I love to stay in the hotel. I have been staying sporadic since 2008, each time is a wonderful experience, my family also enjoy the staying. Staff is really nice, rooms are exceptionally clean, amenities are awesome, location is great, parking lot in the complex is limited, there is an ample parking lot right next door, which is convenient, which is just a little scary to go back and forth after 7pm, the area is under a bridge, and kind dark.

Neighborhood is questionable. I wouldnt walk around at night espeacially downtown for food.. Place is clean, beds were comfortable. Staff were ok. The river "our view" not much you can do about it overlooking a dirty river with alot of debris floating by. The buildings behind it tho are nice but the train looks cool overhead BUT you will hear it overnight.

On Sunday, breakfast was supposed to be open at 7am and it was not set up until 7:40ish and the waffle maker was not working and the actual mixer looks suspicious as well as the other food in the breakfast area and food looked really bad that we decided to leave without eating.Then on Monday, we came down around 8:30am and it was nothing in the breakfast area everything was gone, and nobody was restocking or putting new food.

Checking in was easy and went smoothly. It was Super Bowl night and we were hoping to get a drink from the bar, but there was no bartender on site. The clerk at check-in was still super helpful and provided us alternatives so we were super grateful for that.. The room was very spacious and the hotel is recommend overall. Good for long-term and short-term stays.

The hotel is nice and we enjoyed the 24hr fitness room and complimentary breakfast. My biggest issue is a hotel charging guests for parking in a parking lot thats so small, you are not guaranteed a spot. After our event, coming back late, there were no available spaces. We were comped our charge for parking but finding parking in the area was less than ideal.

Surprisingly good, clean and sizable room, very helpful and gracious check in staff, Breakfast was good too. We had a room with river view which helped. Microwave and fridge also helpful. More light in bedroom would be better though…

Unfortunately, this hotel was the worst experience I’ve ever had at a hotel. We came back late after a concert and there was no parking. We saw the Security worker standing outside & ask where we should park & he started yelling & cursing at us - really scary! We had to park under a bridge per the front desk lady who was actually so nice and even walked us back to the hotel because we felt unsafe. We had a concert again the next night & we’re so nervous to have a repeat of what happened & I had to wait till the next day to talk to the manager who was nice and apologized but it sounded like that wasn’t the first time they’ve gotten complaints about that security guy. It was not the nicest area already and then having their only security guard yell at us aggressively was not something I ever want to experience again. I wish there was some kind of compensation for the experience we had but unfortunately nothing. If you’re traveling alone or know you will be getting back to the hotel late, I do not recommend staying here.

There also wasn’t a pen or notepad anywhere in the room, which is such a basic hotel amenity. I actually needed a pen and had to go six floors down to the front desk just to get one. My biggest frustration was the parking. Charging $22 per night to park when you’re already paying to stay at the hotel feels excessive. On top of that, there is a $100 per day incidental hold, with the parking fee deducted from it. Overall, the room was comfortable and very clean, but for the price and the Hampton Inn name, I expected better attention to basic amenities and fewer excessive additional charges.
