There is no elevator… my mom is disabled and had to walk up and down stairs. They don’t have drinking water available for guests the vending machines were empty and no working ice Machine… had to walk to the gas station at 4 in the morning….the air in the front part of the apartment didn’t work and the air in the bedroom room barely worked! It was 100 degrees in the hallways you will be dripping sweat! I saw a couple lizards in the hallway as well…My mom suite had spiders and her sheets were filthy! The outside in the back is soooo disturbing. However the front desk clerk was sweet and nice.. -10 out of ten do not recommend!!! I’m sure I missed something!

We went 2 hours out of our way to stay here BECAUSE of the hand painted mural in the Everglades lounge. It was closed and has been for a while (internet listing does not reflect this). We wasted our time and could of been sitting on a beach a day sooner had we known

This property could be a GEM, but is so badly-managed it is a shame. There was no coffee the morning I left. I waited for 40 minutes. No one apologized. Look at their reviews - they have not been able to serve coffee for about a month, but yet they fail to fix it. The bed was so bad it sounded like old dried canvas each time you move. The towels are thread bare. Toiletries as advertised is two bars of soap and shampoo. The AC would ONLY cool my room down to 82, and that was ONLY in the early morning. When I went to bed it was 84. There was a bug on the sink. The water runs yellow at first. The furniture is old and dirty. Don\'t believe Patel\'s answers - look at her reviews - she apologizes it it not up to your expectations and then FIXES nothing. It is a magnificent Historical Inn with people running it who literally have NO clue how to run a hotel. When I told the Husband owner at check in "I have always wanted to stay here" - His Response "REALLY?". WOW. Oh yes - no WIFI in the rooms even though advertised. They say you can go to the lobby for WIFI.

Check in was lengthy and uncomfortable as no A/C in lobby, They could not find my reservations, luckily I had printed out a copy of my prepaid itinerary receipt .Cold showers lumpy bed, steep stairways, no elevators, ice machines did not work,the place has deteriorated significantly since my last stay over five years ago. Trash piled up at exits building needs major renovations. Designated Boat trailer parking area not well marked to avoid blocking in by others and hookups to electricity to recharge boats not code compliant.and coming off the walls.

The property is old and has a lot of issues related to that age. The toilet began overflowing and I could not stop even by shutting the fill valve off even though the flapper was down. Water left the bathroom and soaked the carpet. There are no phones to the front desk in the room and no elevator to 2nd floor. Staff is nice but you may need to hunt them down at times!

Other than feeling very unsafe, we had an enjoyable experience here - if for no other reason than the laughs. I learned how to out a chair under my door to lock it, as there are no others. People seem to live here, and they are quick to tell you how awful the city is, and this property in general. Walls are thin, so don’t stay here if you are uncomfortable with drug deals or s-x acts. The bar isn’t operating due to staffing shortage, but the Tiki Bar and Grill has a great steak and is a fun time.

NEVER STAY HERE! 1) Door stuck, had to get maint. to come chisel away part of the door frame to open/close door . Wood splinters and paint chips all over the place. Not cleaned up until the next day. 2) No elevator, rooms on the 2nd floor. 3) Breakfast bar dirty. Spilled waffle batter and half-full coffee cups left for hours. 4) Water was only tepid, never hot, no matter how long the faucet ran before using. 5) Had to jiggle toilet handle to stop water running. On last day, the handle fell off!! 6) Ice machines did not work - had to get from office. 7) Got a splinter in my foot on last night walking into the closet. The room entrance and hallway had been vacuumed to get up the wood splinters, but the closet was not vacuumed. My bag was packed to leave early in the morning, and I made the mistake of walking into the closet barefoot. Not only did I get a splinter in my foot, the floor was sticky from not being cleaned in forever. The only good part of the room was the bed was clean and I didn't see any bugs. However, the A/C was rather loud.

Used condom and other garbage outside of property. Halls not vacuumed, bugs, and room was dusty. I wouldn’t recommend eating or drinking anything from the dinning area. Air worked well in rooms but common areas and halls were extremely hot. Looks like there were remodeling but in my opinion it’s not being done properly. Hope they get it together because it really is a beautiful property that needs A LOT of TLC.

State of disrepair! Shower ran constantly - handy man tried to fix it but management just kept telling him to patch it. Finally agree for him to go get new part but by that time we were ready for bed and told him we would skip shower! NO coffee in room!

I enjoy historic hotels. This is by far the worst place ive stayed. Lobby area has lots of character. Nothing else positive to mention. The entire place has an awful moldy, rank odor. The mattress is way past its lifespan. Old dirty pillows. The bathroom is totally unacceptable. Slow drainage in the sink. I didnt use the tub, because I refuse to set foot in it. Rusty or missing fixtures. Dingy, cheap towels. Just horrible!! I really want my money back. Disgusting!!!

Beautiful lobby area and the history is cool but our room was dirty with dead bugs on the floor. There were holes in the wall and where the outlets and cables were coming from the wall, nothing was attached right and falling out. Repairs needed for sure. We wouldnt mind staying again as long as housekeeping did a better job of cleaning and maintenance fixed issues in the room. Plus we could not get the tv to work properly.

Generally not great. They put effort in keeping the historic look on the outside and the common area/bar, but otherwise the place is ill-maintained, pest-ridden, and just feels sketchy. The room had small roaches, the furniture looked like stuff that was picked up off the side of the road, it didn't feel like it'd be properly cleaned between guests. Had the bare essentials of cleanish sheets, AC, and hot water so I got by. But I would not go here again unless they majorly changed their practices.

One of the worst places I’ve ever been. Cracks in the door. Roaches on the floor. Outlets that are as old as the historic building and struggle to hold a plug. No less than 3 roaches. Full size beds in a “double queen” room. AC was so loud I barely slept. Kitchenette was a microwave and a mini fridge. Pictures are extremely misleading. Would not recommend.

I expect this building to be old but even or especially considering that, it is clean. I would suggest the beds be updated and hot water be easily accessible for us spoiled Americans. Curb appeal is important as it provides a first impression and the grounds should be cleaned of trash regularly. Customers checking in should be made aware the walls aren’t as thick as newer bldgs so use extra common courtesy.

Everything was great with the exception of the water pressure in the shower was not very well and the air conditioning was not very well either, but for an older older hotel, it was not bad

Staff were super friendly and really tried to help. Alexa was great and so was the maintenance guy. That was the best part of this place. Nothing worked. No TV although they really did tried to get it to work. AC leaked so there was water on floor all the time. Everything needs to be updated from the furniture to the horrible bed and just the entire location.

I understand the hotel is historic, and it was beautiful, however I asked for ground floor and still had to go up 4 or 5 steps dragging luggage. The room was small, no telephone and plugs weren't convenient for plugging in a CPAP machine, the outlet was literally behind the headboard. It did have a microwave and small refrigerator. Also, the website advertised a FULL HOT breakfast and it was a continental breakfast. For a diabetic, a continental breakfast is a carbohydrate nightmare. There was no yogurt or protein offered.

Arrived to a lobby full of odd people haning around. I think the majority of the hotel is rented as section 8? Got to my room, and there was no wifi or tv. They said sorry, no wifi. You can use your computor in the lobby. But there was no wifi there either. As for the TV they just said sorry. I got back to my room, where there was a guy standing outside the door to the room next to me screaming. He eventuelly kicked the door in and there was a fight. Police arrived, and barked at the people. There was a dog barking in the room non-stop. At 8pm I had enough and left. I asked for my money back, but they said no. I asked for partial payment back, but they said no. This was the absolute worst hotel experience I have ever had, and what ever you do, stay away!

The hot water wasn’t working, but they had a sign at the front desk saying they knew and were trying to fix it. So I can’t be too mad about it. Also the pillows are pretty bad. I’d stay here again.

They had the heat on and the lobby smelt bad. They gave me a room with no air. Then they gave me a room with a wet bed, so i slept at the foot of the bed. I will sleep in my car before I ever stay there. The bathroom tub was so bad that i just wiped off with a wash cloth. Please dont stay there.

I went to check in after we flew in and nobody was at the desk I called and tried to email the hotel and they didn’t answer. I had to go book at another hotel because the receptionist wasn’t there to check us in and then they still tried to charge my card even though I didn’t stay there because they didn’t help to check me in

We were there for a fishing getaway. It was never mentioned that on Saturday night it turned into a night club with hundreds of people partying and loud music until 3am. People were parked all over the lawn. Any where you could fit a car it had one. We didn’t get any sleep and missed our fishing trip Sunday morning. The next day the premises had beer bottles and cans thrown all over the property that were still there around noon.

the ice machine didn't work, the reception person was rude, the bathtub had no plug, was old and dirty. Had to park 2 streets over as parking was used for preparation of an event. Will not stay here again!

Everything was fine. Check-in was friendly and efficient and I was pleased to get a first-floor room, as requested. Room was comfortable and basic. Shower worked fine. Most criticisms I have are minor: no place to put your soap while showering, no coffee in room nor available in very early morning in lobby, and odd parking situation, with spaces also occupied by people at the park across the street.

Other than feeling very unsafe, we had an enjoyable experience here - if for no other reason than the laughs. I learned how to out a chair under my door to lock it, as there are no others. People seem to live here, and they are quick to tell you how awful the city is, and this property in general. Walls are thin, so don’t stay here if you are uncomfortable with drug deals or s-x acts. The bar isn’t operating due to staffing shortage, but the Tiki Bar and Grill has a great steak and is a fun time.

I read some reviews after booking and was concerned at what I might show up too… but was pleasantly surprised. Not… it’s not a brand new new 5* hotel. But it was clean, the bathroom had been modernised, the area was safe, the staff were friendly, and the bed was comfy… if you’ve ever stayed in pub hotel in Europe or the UK then you’ll love the historic charm of the inn…. yea, some doors are heavy and May stick a bit… or you might hear them bliss a bit loudly… but it’s a historic inn and I loved it! Even stayed an e tea night…

Room was better than last stay here. Sorry to see such a historic Inn, with so much potential, in the condition it's in. The free breakfast is non-existant. Toast, dry cereal, packs of oatmeal. We ate offsite.

Room was run down. Door key card never worked. Continental Breakfast was Poptarts, cold cereal w/no milk available, coffee w/no condiments, that's it. Carpet was filthy, linen was old, pillows were as thin as the sheets, no WiFi. We've been staying here every year, off and on, for 15+ years. This is our last year. It could be such a beautiful place with the history surrounding it, such a shame.

Well...the hotel is old we didn't have high expectations. They seemed to be under construction in some of the rooms. Would of been nice to know in advance. Continental breakfast is crappy. But there was a nice breakfast place across the street. The place has potential was probably really something back in the day.

This property could be a GEM, but is so badly-managed it is a shame. There was no coffee the morning I left. I waited for 40 minutes. No one apologized. Look at their reviews - they have not been able to serve coffee for about a month, but yet they fail to fix it. The bed was so bad it sounded like old dried canvas each time you move. The towels are thread bare. Toiletries as advertised is two bars of soap and shampoo. The AC would ONLY cool my room down to 82, and that was ONLY in the early morning. When I went to bed it was 84. There was a bug on the sink. The water runs yellow at first. The furniture is old and dirty. Don\'t believe Patel\'s answers - look at her reviews - she apologizes it it not up to your expectations and then FIXES nothing. It is a magnificent Historical Inn with people running it who literally have NO clue how to run a hotel. When I told the Husband owner at check in "I have always wanted to stay here" - His Response "REALLY?". WOW. Oh yes - no WIFI in the rooms even though advertised. They say you can go to the lobby for WIFI.

We knew this was an old historic hotel but this hotel rundown and is in need of repairs. The Wi-Fi didn’t work reported but nothing done. The bathroom needed work. The tub needs to be replaced. Room needed vacuuming when we arrived. They offered a free continental breakfast. A joke, 3 cereals that’s it. In the courtyard there was a overstuffed chair from the lobby. It’s a shame that they let this historic hotel get in such a state of disrepair.

The rooms were lovely and large, old worldly. Staff were extremely helpful. I wouldn't recommend breakfast, nothing really available. And the only cleaning comment is a good vacuum needed.

The hotel was not clean. Lots of renovation going on. Bed was clean and comfortable. That was the best part. Old towels. Mattress standing in upstairs hallway. Stairs and carpet were dirty. They said there was breakfast but couldn't even get coffee. There was only packaged pastri, warm OJ. I wanted to stay there b/c it was The Historic Clewiston Inn. It was bought and renamed Best Value Inn. I was very disappointed. Saw it 3 years ago...it was beautiful.

The Clewiston Inn is a very old building. The room I had was comfortable, not as clean as i would have preferred and there is a lack of coffee makers in the room. Breakfast is supposed to be at 6:30 but was not near ready when i stopped down. For the price, it is a value. But again, you get what you pay for.

The Clewiston Inn is a faded elegant place. It became run-down and the new manager doesnt have the budget or talent for good renovation work. Rooms are big and furniture is heavy and old but sorta elegant, like all the fine original woodwork. Crummy little breakfast. And they ignorantly leave the buildings outside floodlights on 24/7. They seem mentally challenged there. But the architecture is charming. I prefer it to square concrete modern hovel hotels.
