WoodSpring Suites Petersburg near Fort Lee

Overall, the hotel was nice however we had trouble getting checked in. We purchased the hotel room on a road trip so that we would have a place to stay for the night. Upon arrival, they did not have a room ready for us allegedly. However, after some searching suddenly a room was made available? There were a few of us in the lobby with the same issue. The lady at the front desk was pretty nice, but she did ask someone their legal status which I’m not sure why that happened. Just FYI.

Was traveling from North Carolina to Virginia for a funeral when I arrived at the hotel I was informed by the young lady at the front desk that they have been trying to reach me all day to let me know that they had overbooked and my rooms were no longer available when I asked her how could that happen because I had spoke to someone earlier in the day to inform them that some of my family members will be arriving early and would they be able to get the rooms and I was informed that they would be also I know when I filled out the reservation there is a spot in there for your phone number

Do not go here! I booked 4 days in advance, but they did not have a clean room. The elevator was broken and I hauled all of my luggage up to the 4th floor only to open the door to unmade beds and trash! I reserved a King but it was 2 twins. Other guests present while I was trying to check in had the same issue. This was after 7 PM, check in is at 3! There were no housekeeping carts in the hallways. I had to find a new hotel at the tail end of a long travel day. The woman at the front desk was nice but overwhelmed, and it looked like she was keeping track of room changes on paper, not in the computer. It was a long list. I don't think anyone else was even working there. She was busting her ass running up and down the stairs to check on room availability. So overwhelmed I felt bad for her. Whoever owns this place should be ashamed. Of themselves and get out of the hospitality business. Please don't market on hotels.com if you're staffing a bare bones extended stay type of crew. Reporting to the BBB as well. I've had per diem jobs and stayed at terrible hotels on purpose to save money. Even the worst held true to bookings. A frustrating waste of time and I doubt I'll get my money back.

This property was horrible. They stated no smoking yet in our floor they where smoking cannabis. No curtain shower and they didn’t want to accept my emotional support dog. The staff was not interested in the client they were unprofessional.

We had only two towels and two wash cloths for our party of four. No big deal, I just went to ask for more, but the clerk told me no. She said it's company policy to only provide two towels for four people. No hand towels either. I ended up drying off with my T-shirt while another family member skipped their shower for the night. There was also only one tube of shampoo and one bar of soap provided for the family. Otherwise, it was a clean room with lots of shelves to put your belongings, but a company policy of giving insufficient towels does not deserve it's current review rating. I chose this hotel over less expensive options because I saw an 8/10 rating. I feel I am being generous giving it 2 stars until they decide to provide enough supplies for the number of guests indicated at booking.
