Holiday Inn Express Indianapolis - Southeast by IHG

My stay was average - nothing great but nothing bad either. The pool, however, did have a horrible smell and my grandkids were unable to swim, which was a big bummer. The room was clean, though, and the beds were comfortable.

Pool and spa not operational Room floor is stained and needs new carpet Wouldn’t accept my IHG number for the stay.

I rented this hotel for the pool and hot tub. We called to make sure the hot tub was working and it was so we booked a room. Upon arrival we found the hot tub closed. Everyone was still getting in the hot tub and it was full of bubbles and suds from peoples skin. The pool had debris in the corners of the deep end indicating it does not get vaccumed out. There were no towels in the pool area to dry off. My room had ants so we had to be very careful with food to not cause a bigger issue. The 2nd night there we were woken by a fire alarm at 3am. When asked why this happened we were told the pool area will sometimes cause the alarm to be set off due to maintenance and now the pool is closed. It is spring break we bought a room for the pool and hot tub and sadly we did not get to fully enjoy the whole reason for the trip.

We have stayed here a few times for soccer tournaments and have never had issues. This time it was not pleasant. When arriving, the pool was closed. No one working on it…empty and took 3 days or more to fill…looked like it was maybe on purpose to keep kids out?? …the entryway/lounge are was open when we checked in on Friday early afternoon then was closed off with caution tape rest of weekend…didn’t want kids in area??? The area where tables are for eating - we had brought food to eat and used that area to eat as group but was told at 930pm that area closed at 10pm…so no areas open for even adults to hang out…kids got yelled at as we sat there to not walk thru the first floor hall…I would not recommend staying here nor will we stay again…also the elevators are expired as far as inspection date of Feb. 2023?? Not sure what is going on…I never wrote reviews but this time deserved it as many team parents were upset and got nowhere asking questions.

I had reserved a suite with a jacuzzi tub. When I arrived we were told their systems were new and down (odd timing considering a massive convention being in town). After jotting down my credit card, I was informed the all the jacuzzi tubs in the suites were not working and wouldn't be for the remainder of the year. I was then given a normal suite, without any discount and sent on my way. The room was fine, but certainly not what I had reserved. When looking for vending machines in areas marked "vending" we found only ice machines. Ones I was told by others on our floor, were not great. One room labeled "vending and arcade" had another ice machine and... Cardboard boxes. Nothing else. We were then woken at 6 am in the morning by a fire alarm. I head downstairs looking for information, and find out that someone burnt breakfast and set all the smoke detectors off. When taking the elevator back up to my room, I noticed that the hotels elevators safety certificate expired February of this year. The majority of the staff didn't seem like they wanted to be there. At least that's what their attitude indicated when speaking to them. Understandable given our experiences. The only pluses I can really give the hotel, are that the beds and pillows were comfortable and the air conditioner worked well.

Checkin was a breeze. Night staff were very friendly and accommodating. Gym was nice and great indoor pool.

Fridge didn’t work in room (didn’t realize until the morning when our juice was warm) pool closed day of check in and was told it changes daily but when I called the week prior to ask if their pool was operational they never stated “yes but that can change daily” or I would have never booked ahead of time.

The stay was great! Room was nice! Breakfast was great! The only issue was that the pool area was extremely hot if you weren't swimming in it.

The staff was incredibly nice and helpful. The rooms were dirty. Visible food, dirt, rocks and sticky stains on the carpert. Sticky cup rings on the table tops. Most of a used stick of butter in the refrigerator. Pink mold along the tub. Hair on the bathroom floor and weaved into the towels from past guests. A heavy scum film in the tub. The pumps in the bathroom was crusty and unclean. And the hard floors were sticky.

The room was not cleaned. The body wash container had hair on it and was empty. There was Pubic hair left on the back of the toilet. Sticky stuff on the night stand and head board.

The dirtiest hotel I have ever been in. Ice machine didn’t. Carpets were all stained and not swept. Pulled out bed was junk and old, the sheets were stained. Not enough towels and wash cloths and 1 coffee

We are platinum members of IHG and have stayed at a lot all over the country, this was definitely one of the worst ones. The hotel room had stains all over the floor, the bathroom was rusting in a lot of places, the lights wouldn't work right or would flicker, and the AC didn't put out enough air to fill the sq ft. And we used the pull out couch as well and the sheets in the cupboard for them were in a heap making me think that they hadn't been cleaned. It was dingy, damp, and dirty. We didn't even eat breakfast there because it didn't look like what you'd expect from a normal IHG. The staff were alright but a bit brash. We won't be staying here again.

Breakfast was a joke pancake machine broken. Room keys kept resetting and couldn’t get in my room. Bathtub was dirty.

The lobby and 4th floor and elevators smelled terrible. The elevator floors and lobby and walkway from the hallway to the elevators were always wet from the pool I guess. I never saw a ‘wet floor’ sign. My daughter slipped and fell getting out of the elevator once and bruised up her knee.

The room was clean and fresh. The beds were huge and comfortable. The breakfast was good and staff were mostly friendly. The only thing I would suggest would be to take down the vending (and archade) signs because I was on a hunt following them around to empty rooms, and finally found the snacks and drinks in the corner past the front desk, not identified by any signs. This place was a great stay and I will definitely be back when the catacombs open back up.

Food options were limited at breakfast buffett. Staff was great! Rooms were amazing, beds were the best sleep ever. Great distance to our desired location and no safety issues noted. It was an overnight stay. Room cleanliness from overall view was good. Morning of checkout we discovered a roach in our room. No response from housekeeping, which was on our floor cleaning rooms at the time and no response from front desk when we called to report nor when we turned in our keys to check-out.

Bathroom in my room was dirty!

This holiday inn was very clean and nice. The staff were very friendly, attentive, and helpful. Would highly recommend!

It was nice, but the microwave didn't work, and the fridge had a broken leg and wobbled. Also, the bathroom door wouldn't latch.

Comfortable beds, did not like the so called omelets at breakfast the rest was only ok for free hotel breakfast. There was a lot of highway noise at night. Just an average place to stay

THE BEST HOTEL! The entire staff here at Holiday Inn is excellent in both hospitality and customer service! Check in, the room, the bedding, air conditioning, toiletries, swimming pool, and breakfast were ALL on point! We were a large group (husband, wife, 4 kids, and a service animal) and no one made us feel awkward or uncomfortable, but went out of their way to accommodate our we've need. We started in room 218. Two king beds with a sofa bed.

The room size met our expectations. King size beds reserved and were available.

Our room was clean and spacious, and the beds were super comfortable along with the pillows. We appreciated the friendliness of the front desk staff as we were coming and going, everyone was very friendly. I would have loved darker blinds or drapes, but was advised when we are checking out they are in the middle of changing all the blinds out for blackout/room darkening ones. We booked at the last minute after the death of a family member, and this hotel made a long weekend much nicer. Would stay here again.

Rooms were clean. Our phone jack was broken, we were unable to call down when we needed extra sheets for the pull out bed. Our bathroom door did not lock. The door to our room didn’t lock at all. All you needed to do wash push it open to get in.

I did not get the rooms I booked. I booked 2 rooms with 2 beds and both rooms were supposed to have a couch with pull out bed. Neither room had a couch woth a pull out bed. And i was forced to have rooms on 2 different floors seperating our group. The room on floor 2 had a noise issue coming from the interstate. Which is completely understandable to an extent being next to a 6 lane highway however this was excessive. It sounded like a noise barrier or somthing in the AC allowing the noise in. The Room on the 3rd floor did not have this problem. Also the 2nd room was excessively smaller. You almost couldnt get the baggage cart into the room it was so narrow. Again the room on floor 3 did not have this issue. The hotel was clean and friendly, except we had to get new Room keys every couple hours. In 2 nights we had to get 4 sets of keys. Very inconvenient when carrying around a sleeping 5yr old. We did like the pool and pool room. The pool had warm water which we all enjoyed and it was clean. But the pool seemd to have alot of shock in it. Chlorine is normal in a pool but if youve ever swim in shock you would understand what im talking about. This was a decent hotel but with the inconveniences of the room keys and not being able to sleep because of road noise, not getting what we paid for, etc we wont be returning on our next trip to indy.

Our room was missing curtains. It was so bright and loud that at 2:30 in the morning I thought I slept through my alarm and that it was day time.

This Holiday Inn had very outdated rooms and an outdated heat/ac unit.

When I got to my room the door was not locked. I assumed the cleaning people just left. I arrived at approximately 3:30 in the afternoon room number 212. I had to leave to meet with a client at 5:00. When I got back to my room at 8:30, I inserted the key card and the pressure of this opened the door. I then realized that the door would not lock. I was tired so I just set the top door lock and went to bed. If I would have been staying another night, I would have requested another room. The window treatment does not work, so in the morning to let light in I had to manually fold the blind on the top roller. The people checking me in were efficient and friendly. The breakfast area was messing and the eggs were cold. The egg hot plate was not on. The hotel needs some work. Overall I give it a 4 on a 1 to 10 scale. I understand why the price was $102. + tax. I would suggest spending another $50 for the night and getting a better overall hotel. This hotel was rated much higher then it should have been. Disappointing at best for a Holiday Inn.

I got there at 2:55, got my luggage and toddler and went to check in. There was another guest waiting to check in. He went in about 5 minutes before me. He said they went to go find out if he could be checked in early. By the time he got back it was after 3pm. With a line of about 5 people. Once it was my turn, he got my info and got me checked in. Gave me a room key, but didnt tell me the room #. I had to ask. Got to our room, the door was so hard to get open! And once we were in the room, the door slammed shut, and it was so loud. The room was fine. But you just heard doors slamming all day and night. The man that was in charge of the breakfast was phenomenal! He was so kind and interacted well woth my shy toddler.

Well check in was at 3pm got there at 4pm room wasn't ready had to wait an hour and a half..got to my room no towels no toilet paper and the toilet seat was broke room phome didn't work ..went down to let general manager know and she said she would have maintenance change out the toilet seat and never did ask for some kind of discount for everything and said she would give me a 20 dollar discount..staff was unfriendly and never around when went to the counter ..always saw the general manager on her phone facetiming someone..never had clean towels said short staff but yet she was always on her phone and it wasnt work related ..she was very rude and then i had two other family members stay each of us had the same type of room and was all charged a different price when checked out

We found out when we were getting there. They cancelled our reservation hours earlier. There were a lot of events in town and we weren't there by 8pm they assumed we weren't coming so there we were stuck. It said nothing about 3pm sharp for check in. We have traveled a lot over the years and never had an issue. Come to find out this is NOT corporate policy. This hotel is poorly managed and I'm speaking with corporate again tomorrow since we were about to sleep in our car (and I'm far along in a pregnancy there on business) before another hotel chain bent over backwards to find us 1 room at one of their hotel chains in the area. Save yourself the trouble and DON'T BOOK HERE. I'd had that room reserved for almost 1 year.

Due to the solar eclipse we are still unable to check in. Its 8:20pm now. They were not ready for all the people. And most of the people that were supposed to check in today are still waiting in the lobby.

Staff was kind and so sweet I highly recommend this hotel. I give it a 10/10

I felt from the moment we checked in until the moment we checked out that the customer service was outstanding. Every employee from the front desk to the maintenance workers to the cleaning crew were friendly and beyond professional. My only fault would be with the slowness of the elevators. I would definitely stay here again.

I booked this room for my sister and brother in law because my nephew was in the ER at a nearby children’s hospital. After an exhausting day in the hospital, they finally got to hotel a little after 3am hoping to get some sleep before going back to the hospital and the desk person refused to give them their room. They were scolded for coming late, said the person said they were busy doing audit and they should have come checked in earlier. I will also be writing corporate. This was horrible and they had to go find another hotel when they were exhausted and distraught. I’m fine with this chain. On the other hand, hotel.com were awesome and got me a refund.

I stayed one night, check in lady was less than impressed with her job, I was charged twice for my room and two months later and 15 calls, still haven't been refunded

Nice comfy big beds. Close to the freeway so travel is short and fast

Excellent distance from everything downtown. It was very clean and felt like a very safe area.

There was one night where we couldn’t use the water because they turned it off… the pancake maker machine was broken and the workers that were doing the breakfast area were super rude. They just had to close everything down right on time… we were also told the wrong time that breakfast was closing. When I did make it down for breakfast everything was gone. No eggs, limited sausage, no biscuits and little amounts of gravy. Just seemed unorganized.

They didn't have enough food for the breakfast. They were out of most everything, both days. One of the reasons we stayed there was for the free hot breakfast, but i.e.: both days they were out of milk. They also ran out of pancake batter, sausage gravy, on Sunday.

No complaints other than the breakfast. The biscuits had some mold and the cereal was stale. We opted to go to McDonalds rather than eat bfast at the hotel the second day. The ice machine was also out of ice. Our floor was quiet and the beds were clean and comfortable.

All the staff were very friendly and always helpful. Very good breakfast.

The staff were all very friendly and welcoming. However, the highway noise if your room is on the one side is incredibly loud. The breakfast was pretty bad as well.

It was a standard hotel. The front desk staff was very friendly. The room was clean. I felt safe after a long drive to the area. Breakfast was subpar, but it was complimentary and the location allowed for me to get food before heading into the hotel and it's right by a gas station.
