Motel 6 Rockford, IL – RFD Airport

It was very basic. It worked for an overnight before an early flight but rather stark. I would have liked to know how basic it was and that the check in was thru a kiosk not a person. I would possibly use again if I was in the same situation.

Nice clean room.

I stepped into the main lobby and immediately got hit in the face with a smell that was indescribable. The man at the front desk was watching Family Man, and I had to acknowledge him first. Great customer service. Then, I was advised that I needed to check in at some weird video kiosk. Umm, why? There’s literally a person behind the desk. Whatever, so, this guy calls me sir. I have a short haircut, but you can tell I’m a female, so that was neat. The whole exchange was just odd. From that kiosk you get a receipt with your room number and WiFi info, along with your room key. I then walked out to my car realizing I was never told how to get to my room. So I had to walk back in and ask. The outside of the building is run down, the landscaping is atrocious. Once inside, the smell was just awful. Can’t pinpoint it because it’s so weird. The room itself was ok, once you get past getting acosted by the obnoxiously bright lights. The walls has scuff marks, the shower didn’t look clean, the towels had a musty smell. The only good thing I have to say was the bathroom mirror was nice and the bedsheets smelled fresh. Other than that, I wouldn’t recommend this place unless you were beyond desperate.

Kiosk to check in with a very rude customer representative. Foul smell throughout hotel. No freezer in mini fridge was told I could get one for a extra fee. Hairs in the towels.

The room when I first got there looked like they hadn’t changed the sheets and there was small bits of trash on the floor as if it wasn’t cleaned. I asked for it to be cleaned and they cleaned it with new sheets and everything.
