Would definitely recommend and stay again. Plenty of parking, decent sized rooms with everything we needed. Restocked every day (tea, coffee, toiletries), which was very nice. Excellent breakfast, plenty of choice, freshly cooked to our timeslot. Hosts remembered what we asked for and we could change bits if we wanted. Room had everything we needed. Tea/coffee, water, hairdryer, fans, iron plus board, shower gel, shampoo, plenty of clean towels. Room was perfect size for us even had a dressing table for my partner to get ready at. Very good shower too Key for the room and fob for the front door so we could come and go as we pleased. 10-15 minute walk and you were in the middle of York so excellent location also. Only very minor criticism was the heating was not on when it was a cold evening (February), but would then come on in the middle of the night so we would wake up a bit too hot.

We had a wonderful stay with our eight month old and two Shih Tzu dogs. The owners were so accommodating and friendly, making every effort to ensure our stay was comfortable - even going out to buy full fat milk for our little one's breakfast and cooking a sausage for our dogs (greatly appreciated by them!). The cooked breakfast was excellent and of high quality. You can adapt to your requirements. We stayed in a family room, the empire room (number 2), which was very spacious. A cot bed was provided - we brought our own mattress with us as we usually find the travel cots mattresses aren't that great. Inside the room were plenty of drink options for hot drinks. Even had a mini fridge which was a nice touch and bottled water was provided each morning for free. Parking is plentiful at the back of the hotel. Location is excellent - about 15 mins walk to the centre. Will definitely stay here again if we return to York.

The room was clean and the shower was really hot.Lots of choice on the buffet table. The cooked breakfast was freshly made and hot. Parking was excellent. Danielle was very friendly and made you feel welcome. As did Tarquin.The lady who brought the breakfast was happy to have a little chat when she was serving you. I would definitely recommend this hotel and be happy to stay again. Thankyou to all.

Fresh breakfast throughout. Fruit was lovely. Room was clean and comfortable just not easy to get up to. Room 11 is not for the infirm. Great stay with super amenities. Thank you.

Absolutely lovely guest house with lovely staff. Breakfast is amazing and fresh and everything was accommodated for. Mini fridge, hot chocolate, and chocolate was a nice touch in the rooms. Only slight improvement could be made on the rooms is they need a bit of TLC in places (just a lick of paint where it has scuffed) and a good clean of the kettles because it put me off using them to make a hot drink. But other than that, it was a perfect stay, thank you!

The owner Danielle was very welcoming on arrival. We were able to check in early which was very helpful. The breakfast and options were delicious. Rooms were very comfortable and clean though a little tired. Location is spot on for York station and walking to and from town centre. We would happily stay again.

The owners are so friendly and it appears that nothing is too much trouble to ensure you have a good stay. Breakfast is pre ordered and cooked fresh, one of the best breakfasts ive had! A good selection of fruit and cereal! The room is clean and comfortable. I'd highly recommend

We have stayed here before and will stay again, it is excellent for a stay in York. The house is clean and welcoming. The breakfast is very well presented and tastes good and is plentiful. The parking cannot be beaten in the city.

What a lovely little guest house within walking distance to York city centre. Danielle was a lovely host who made sure everything was in order for us. The room was comfortable, the breakfast was delicious and the fact that parking is included makes this place good value for money. The only thing worth noting is that the loft room is up 3 sets of stairs (the last one being a little steep) so bear that in mind if you have luggage or if you plan on doing the climb up the York Cathedral Tower tour (like we did!) Would definitely recommend.

Cute little B&B located just a few mins from the train station and about 15 min walk into the city centre. The room we were in was at the very top. Note, lots of stairs and to get to room 12 is a small awkward staircase but all good for us. Room was simple, though lacking headroom in places, had everything needed including AC, washer, sink, cooktop and fridge. Would stay again!

Although it was a double room, there was barely enough room for one person. Only one chair meant that someone had to sit on the bed, the room was cold (the heating was on a timer that seemed to be on while we were out and off when we returned freezing after a nighttime ghost walk). The “en-suite” was a tiny bathroom in a cupboard under the stairs. There was a bath with over-bath shower, which was quite dangerous as it had a sloping ceiling which made it hard to stand straight in and a glass door that didn’t open fully as it would have smashed against the sink. Add to this a lack of any sort of grab rail in the bath and the whole set up became quite dangerous. They would have done better to put in a shower cubicle. Would not recommend.

Danielle was a great host from arrival to departure. We stayed five nights and we're well looked after throughout. Our loft room had a low ceiling in places, but excellent views of the railway station and a fridge, microwave and washer drier - more like a well equipped studio. Whilst others have complained about the noise if the trains with the window open - we slept with the dormer window open, and loved the sounds of the trains passing. Breakfast was chosen the day before, and a real treat. We would definitely stay again if in York, though possibly on a lower floor because the stairs to the attic are a little steep - but worth it for staying longer and using the fridge and cooking facilities.

The Apple house staff were great. Very friendly, easy check in, nice breakfast for reasonable. The neighborhood is very cute with several cafes, restaurants, pubs, and shopping. This place is very close to York and is a good place to use as a home base for a visit. The room was quite dated and could use some updating. There is street noise.

I found the Hotel easily from the Railway Station after a short walk. I found everything about the place lovely! Lovely room with all you need available, lovely comfortable bed and a lovely Breakfast with everything you could to need! Staff lovely and polite. The only downside was its position on a main road and by forgetting to shut window/ bathroom door got woke up by the morning commute!!!

So welcoming and helpful from checking in to checking out. Breakfast was delicious and bed was really comfortable. Parking at the rear was really good and safe. Danielle was just lovely and even let me use her fridge to store the cheeses i bought at the market. Thanks for a lovely stay

From the moment we arrived for a two night stay we were made most welcome by our hosts. The rooms are clean and tidy, ample parking, breakfast excellent. Nothing was too much trouble - even provided us with a late continental breakfast so I could do parkrun. Thank You Danielle & Tarquin - see you again soon.

The owners are so friendly and it appears that nothing is too much trouble to ensure you have a good stay. Breakfast is pre ordered and cooked fresh, one of the best breakfasts ive had! A good selection of fruit and cereal! The room is clean and comfortable. I'd highly recommend

The room was clean and the shower was really hot.Lots of choice on the buffet table. The cooked breakfast was freshly made and hot. Parking was excellent. Danielle was very friendly and made you feel welcome. As did Tarquin.The lady who brought the breakfast was happy to have a little chat when she was serving you. I would definitely recommend this hotel and be happy to stay again. Thankyou to all.

The staff are very willing to help in many perspectives. In the last day, I was having a really early trip on railway, and it is grateful to have breakfast prepared earlier by the hotel, so I don’t need to be starving in the trip and to have breakfast in King’s Cross.

First thing, the most charming owner of the guest house greets you upon arrival and gives you the biggest of smiles. We were show to our room with a very comfortable bed and a nice shower. And even though the weather was hot, ac and a fan were really good to cool us down. Location is just 5min walk out of the city centre but it’s well connected to buses and the train station. Breakfast was the best I’ve ever tried. Classic full English with homemade eggs and what it feels as local grown food. On an all. A classic English experience

I found the Hotel easily from the Railway Station after a short walk. I found everything about the place lovely! Lovely room with all you need available, lovely comfortable bed and a lovely Breakfast with everything you could to need! Staff lovely and polite. The only downside was its position on a main road and by forgetting to shut window/ bathroom door got woke up by the morning commute!!!

Would definitely recommend and stay again. Plenty of parking, decent sized rooms with everything we needed. Restocked every day (tea, coffee, toiletries), which was very nice. Excellent breakfast, plenty of choice, freshly cooked to our timeslot. Hosts remembered what we asked for and we could change bits if we wanted. Room had everything we needed. Tea/coffee, water, hairdryer, fans, iron plus board, shower gel, shampoo, plenty of clean towels. Room was perfect size for us even had a dressing table for my partner to get ready at. Very good shower too Key for the room and fob for the front door so we could come and go as we pleased. 10-15 minute walk and you were in the middle of York so excellent location also. Only very minor criticism was the heating was not on when it was a cold evening (February), but would then come on in the middle of the night so we would wake up a bit too hot.

Absolutely fabulous! Daniele is an excellent host! Very friendly and helpful. She paid attention to the little details (where I liked to sit at breakfast) and to the important ones (my breakfast was not only really good, it was also gluten free!). The room, we were in Fuji, was bright and airy. It was at the back of the house, over looking the car park. It was comfortable and very clean. We had a double bed with duvet, there was a wardrobe and a set of drawers, a kettle well stocked with tea/coffee/hot chocolate and snacks. The bathroom was not amazing, but it was spotless with little shampoo and shower gel bottles provided (and replaced during our stay!). The Apple House is 5 minutes walk to Michaelgate and about 15 minutes walk to the Shambles/Minster area. There are quite a few restaurants around, although we always ended up at the pub around the corner! The Apple House is a lovely B&B, we were treated like special guests, and really enjoyed our time in York. I highly recommend this place, and hope to be back soon, with friends!

Nice play to stay convenient for Central York (15mis walk). The owners are very friendly and ensure your stay will be a good one. Breakfast was excellent with both continental and Full English available. Good parking at the rear and the owners let you park there on checkout day as well. Overall a great stay.

This was our first stay at The Apple House but been to York before. The Apple House seems to be this family's labour of love. It has a very homely feel and we were welcomed so friendly and informative. We were unfortunate to have selected the loft in a heatwave, however we had an air cooling unit, fan and velux window so we coped just fine. It was like a little self contained apartment. Ideal for our stay. The only negatives if you want to be extremely picky, were that the carpet had a small tear, not dangerous. The bathroom wall had a small gap in line with the rafters, you couldnt see through unless you put your face up to it but you could hear. I think although a provision was in place the shower tray may need replacing at some point. The last flight of stairs had small treads, fine for us but with big bags or mobility issues it wouldnt be so good. None of this affected our stay. The location was great, about 10 minutes walk to the station and York Gate to be able to walk the wall. It took no more than 20 minutes walk to the city centre. We had a very well cooked full English breakfast tailored to exactly what we wanted plus yogurts, cereals, fruit, honestly the spread of food was amazing, welcoming and made you feel at home. I would definitely visit again.

Floors and under sofa bed needs a clean. Long hairs on bedding. Main train next to the annex. Sofa bed uncomfortable but main bed was very comfortable. Walking distance to the city. Car park very tight. Staff were very friendly. It was ok but not planning on stopping again

The hotel itself is very cute. Parking in the back is very tight so you should be comfortable with that. It is nice that it’s free! My biggest issue was the “air conditioning” i specifically booked the room for. It did nothing to cool the attic we were staying in. Fortunately there is a large roof window we opened and ended up being cold which was perfect. Just be aware the top loft room is an attic with angled windows and the bathroom wall isn’t complete so you can hear EVERYTHING. But if you’re okay with that, the beds are comfy and there’s a fridge with water.
