Lovely inn situated in a great place to go for walks. Great food and facilities on site. We stayed for 3 nights and spent every evening in the restaurant. Only slight down side is the lack of other amenities in the area i.e. no restaurants/pubs within walking distance. Would definitely recommend it though.

Thus us the second time in the past five years that my family and I have booked a multi-day stay at the Three Shires Inn. This time, again, we were enormously pleased with our visit. The amenities, the food, the location, and particularly the staff were all first-rate. As was the weather, surprisingly. Only the traffic on the narrow roads was a challenge.

Friendly staff, good food, lovely clean room, nice outdoor seating area to enjoy the beautiful views. We never had a problem parking but space is limited. You need a car to drive to other locations or be extremely fit! The rooms are up a relatively steep staircase so enquire if you have mobility issues.

Arrived late afternoon. Reception was all ready for our arrival, so hassle free. Booked in for the evening meal and had some refreshments before viewing the room. Very happy with the room and really clean. Had our meal and were happy enough with all the food, very tasty. The bar lounge was comfortable and a decent drinks selection on other, an excellent whiskey selection was also available. The staff did ask if anyone required more drinks as they were closing the between 9pm and 10pm. I guess if more were in, it might stay open longer. We slept really well and were very happy with the breakfast the following morning. The staff were very attentive and professional. We'd certainly come back.

Helpful staff and the Lingmoor Fell suite is brilliant. Great choice of wine. Food lets it down. Breakfast beans and eggs were poor quality. If you do table service carry it through to making and serving toast. Cheap sachets and jams. Sausages changed day to day. Had chicken pie which was good. Game pie indigestible and onion bhaji too big and dry with a tiny amount of yoghurt dip.small changes would make it sonmuch better. Service friendly. Just not as good on food as it could be.

Booked on line for a weekend visiting Family. Booking was straight forward. Googled the location and was easy to find - the roads however are narrow with few passing places. Some drivers will drive too quickly which makes live interesting. The hotel has parking spaces which quickly fill, although we didnt have a problem The beer garden is comfortable with plenty of areas for shade. Lovely hanging baskets and plants. Lovely views! The bar was nice, the checkin process was quick and simple, everything was ready for us. The room was simply furnished but very comfortable - the mattress was very springy. The bathroom was very nice, the TV had all the channels we would want. We didnt stay for dinner the first night but did the second, choice was good and very nice. Breakfast wasnt too big but very nice. Checkout was easy. All in all I would definately stay there again!

Lovely views and lovely dinner. The evening meal was delicious, expensive but very good indeed. ,The breakfast sadly let them down. Tough mushrooms that I couldn't cut and dry black pudding. I needed to ask for my poached egg to be runny. All very overcooked or likely left on a heat shelf for too long. People very friendly and helpful. Nice room although smaller than anticipated and a shame we were above the kitchen to gain the smell of garlic which lingered but overall a nice trip.

Stunning and peaceful location. We had dinner and breakfast, and both were delicious with locally sourced produce. The suite was lovely with a private patio next to a running stream. Highly recommend

Newly refurbished hotel. We stayed in a standard double which was nicely appointed . The bed however was very bouncy and the floorboards creaky. The walls are thin as I could hear the person in the next room snoring. The food was of a high standard both for dinner and breakfast. I would recommend staying but would book a twin next time

We had a friendly welcome at the hotel from the staff. Located in the Langdales with beautiful scenery. We had dinner on 2 evenings and the room had everything you could want plus a bit of space- lovely!

The hotel is beautifully situated on the side of a peaceful valley . Lots of lovely walks around. Great food , friendly service, beautifully furnished. Heartily recommended!

Really Lovely, very short stay for us. Stay was perfect Area is serene and beautiful however just felt a little isolated and hardly any lighting on the streets making it a little unsafe when driving in the dark. Although was perfect location for the hike we wanted to join in the morning.

Lovely inn situated in a great place to go for walks. Great food and facilities on site. We stayed for 3 nights and spent every evening in the restaurant. Only slight down side is the lack of other amenities in the area i.e. no restaurants/pubs within walking distance. Would definitely recommend it though.

Great stay, very welcoming , very tranquil location with a beautiful view, food is somewhat expensive but it's out on the sticks so expected Staff - George very welcoming nothing was too much and the short young lady very polite

We had a friendly welcome at the hotel from the staff. Located in the Langdales with beautiful scenery. We had dinner on 2 evenings and the room had everything you could want plus a bit of space- lovely!

The hotel is beautifully situated on the side of a peaceful valley . Lots of lovely walks around. Great food , friendly service, beautifully furnished. Heartily recommended!

Booked on line for a weekend visiting Family. Booking was straight forward. Googled the location and was easy to find - the roads however are narrow with few passing places. Some drivers will drive too quickly which makes live interesting. The hotel has parking spaces which quickly fill, although we didnt have a problem The beer garden is comfortable with plenty of areas for shade. Lovely hanging baskets and plants. Lovely views! The bar was nice, the checkin process was quick and simple, everything was ready for us. The room was simply furnished but very comfortable - the mattress was very springy. The bathroom was very nice, the TV had all the channels we would want. We didnt stay for dinner the first night but did the second, choice was good and very nice. Breakfast wasnt too big but very nice. Checkout was easy. All in all I would definately stay there again!

Absolutely fabulous overnight stay. The place is spotless, the food was amazing. Rooms modern and comfortable despite it being a beautiful old building. Customer service was great too. Couldn’t ask for anything more.

Lovely views and lovely dinner. The evening meal was delicious, expensive but very good indeed. ,The breakfast sadly let them down. Tough mushrooms that I couldn't cut and dry black pudding. I needed to ask for my poached egg to be runny. All very overcooked or likely left on a heat shelf for too long. People very friendly and helpful. Nice room although smaller than anticipated and a shame we were above the kitchen to gain the smell of garlic which lingered but overall a nice trip.

Newly refurbished hotel. We stayed in a standard double which was nicely appointed . The bed however was very bouncy and the floorboards creaky. The walls are thin as I could hear the person in the next room snoring. The food was of a high standard both for dinner and breakfast. I would recommend staying but would book a twin next time

Magnífico pequeño hotel con habitaciones reformadas y con mucho encanto. Muy práctico para hacer senderismo desde el propio hotel. La cocina, tanto para los desayunos como las cenas, es buenísima. El personal muy atento, agradable y profesional.

Mountain View from room, room was tidy and ideal. However location is on a very narrow country road. The breakfast wasn’t warm the following morning, took too many orders at once and only one staff member so delays were experienced.

Wonderfully authentic Lakeland Inn.Our stay was peaceful with so many opportunities for walks straight from the door.Limited options available for dinner, would have appreciated more choices.cooked breakfast was very good but some yoghurt, fruit would have been welcome.Selection of beers at the bar was very good.The staff work extremely hard but we thought an extra member of staff would have helped to reduce waiting times at dinner and breakfast

Cute and historic Inn, friendly guy in reception who also served at dinner, local lad. Loved the location and beautiful sunset during our after dinner stroll towards cathedral caves, nothing but us, the sheep and the hills.
