2 nights as part of tour but loved it so much we came back following week for another 2 nights , as a wheelchair user it was designed brilliantly the covered concrete walkways level access restaurant, so much wildlife within the hotel grounds no need to leave , so many amazing birds , to sit and have breakfast and watch the bird feeding station , a lovely idea which we really enjoyed . The rooms are a little dated but spacious and comfortable. My partner did a walk with Randy and really enjoyed it . All the staff are so helpful we definitely return thanks so much .

The property was conveniently located off a major highway. It was nice to have covered walkways between the rooms and dining area to protect from the rain showers. There was a lot of greenery which provided a safe haven for frogs and other creatures. The hotel offered a lot of tours, although some of them you had to take a taxi to get to which cost extra. They also have tours onsite on their nature preserve. It is an excellent location for birders and nature lovers. The buffet breakfast was excellent. The property is very near to the Sarapiqui River. WiFi coverage was available throughout the property. There was a gift shop onsite. Highly recommend for birdwatchers and nature lovers. We enjoyed the night hike and the morning hike with the expert guide at the lodge. It has an attached authentic Italian restaurant which was unusual for that area of Costa RIca.

Loved the covered walkways. We were literally walking in the rainforest! Breakfast was delicious with fresh fruit, eggs, bean and rice. Staff was very helpful and friendly. The room was large and clean. Very eco friendly. Ours was by the river and the sound was wonderful. My only complaint is that they claim to have a hot tub. It's there, but no heat and no jets. Should be called a small pool instead.

Beautiful eco resort by the river. We went to sleep listening to the river and saw a great many bird watchers and photographers on the site. Two very different restaurants and a nice pool. The howler monkeys put on a great show by the pool.

We like the room very much and the pool was lovely. The front desk staff was very helpful in arranging great activities. We did not enjoy the sounds and smells from the construction. We also would have like more self-guided walks.

Hotel très sympathique, dans un très beau parc avec un pont suspendu . Notre chambre était tout en bas du parc, près de la rivière, ce qui était particulièrement agréable . Grande chambre avec un grand balcon et un hamac. Possibilité de se balader dans des petits chemins dans ce domaine. Petit déjeuner correct, avec vue sur les oiseaux, beaucoup de fruits et des pancakes .

Beautiful property with private access to preserved primary & secondary forests. They arrange for guides for bird/nature walks both in the morning & night. They have a feeder area by their restaurant where it is a treat to watch many birds during breakfast. Room was very comfortable and bigger than expected. Had a hammock outside each room.

Lovely rooms set on raised platforms in the forest, verandas all around for watching the birds. Guided walks all around the forested property. Dinner was an ample buffet as was breakfast. Lovely stream rushing past our rooms. Idyllic.

OMG we loved this place. Best part of out 10 day trip that included Arenal and Manuel Antonio. Great early birding tour, and saw tanagers and kingbirds from our balcony. The cabins and walkways are of beautiful wood, nestled in trees and flowers.

Large property - suffered from recent flooding when I was there. Saw a lot of interesting birds and other wild life on the property. The rooms were large - but the space was not well utilized. I had the impression that there was a lot of deferred maintenance that was overdue. Nonetheless, it was comfortable. The food was OK.

Magnífico lodge. El enclave es maravilloso, la habitación muy grande, bien equipada y limpísima. Los jardines/bosque del hotel, con río al lado, preciosos. Personal muy amable y atento. El restaurante italiano del hotel, de buena calidad y precios razonables. Muy recomendable.

Amazing place to stay for seeing birds and wildlife. I’d highly recommend the guided nature walk or guided bird watching. The rooms and grounds are beautifully kept, as well.

It was a beautiful property with very nice staff but it wasn't as expected. It is on a main busy road. We thought we were going to be in the middle of the rainforest. The rooms were very nice and the food was good. Loved watching the birds from the balcony but was hoping for a quieter setting l.

We like the room very much and the pool was lovely. The front desk staff was very helpful in arranging great activities. We did not enjoy the sounds and smells from the construction. We also would have like more self-guided walks.

Magnífico lodge. El enclave es maravilloso, la habitación muy grande, bien equipada y limpísima. Los jardines/bosque del hotel, con río al lado, preciosos. Personal muy amable y atento. El restaurante italiano del hotel, de buena calidad y precios razonables. Muy recomendable.

Beautiful property with private access to preserved primary & secondary forests. They arrange for guides for bird/nature walks both in the morning & night. They have a feeder area by their restaurant where it is a treat to watch many birds during breakfast. Room was very comfortable and bigger than expected. Had a hammock outside each room.

It was a beautiful property with very nice staff but it wasn't as expected. It is on a main busy road. We thought we were going to be in the middle of the rainforest. The rooms were very nice and the food was good. Loved watching the birds from the balcony but was hoping for a quieter setting l.

The property was conveniently located off a major highway. It was nice to have covered walkways between the rooms and dining area to protect from the rain showers. There was a lot of greenery which provided a safe haven for frogs and other creatures. The hotel offered a lot of tours, although some of them you had to take a taxi to get to which cost extra. They also have tours onsite on their nature preserve. It is an excellent location for birders and nature lovers. The buffet breakfast was excellent. The property is very near to the Sarapiqui River. WiFi coverage was available throughout the property. There was a gift shop onsite. Highly recommend for birdwatchers and nature lovers. We enjoyed the night hike and the morning hike with the expert guide at the lodge. It has an attached authentic Italian restaurant which was unusual for that area of Costa RIca.

Beautiful eco resort by the river. We went to sleep listening to the river and saw a great many bird watchers and photographers on the site. Two very different restaurants and a nice pool. The howler monkeys put on a great show by the pool.

Hotel très sympathique, dans un très beau parc avec un pont suspendu . Notre chambre était tout en bas du parc, près de la rivière, ce qui était particulièrement agréable . Grande chambre avec un grand balcon et un hamac. Possibilité de se balader dans des petits chemins dans ce domaine. Petit déjeuner correct, avec vue sur les oiseaux, beaucoup de fruits et des pancakes .

Lovely rooms set on raised platforms in the forest, verandas all around for watching the birds. Guided walks all around the forested property. Dinner was an ample buffet as was breakfast. Lovely stream rushing past our rooms. Idyllic.

OMG we loved this place. Best part of out 10 day trip that included Arenal and Manuel Antonio. Great early birding tour, and saw tanagers and kingbirds from our balcony. The cabins and walkways are of beautiful wood, nestled in trees and flowers.

Amazing place to stay for seeing birds and wildlife. I’d highly recommend the guided nature walk or guided bird watching. The rooms and grounds are beautifully kept, as well.

Eco conscious hotel. Overall hotel was very nice. Breakfast was limited for vegetarians. Excellent view of the river. Highlight was having breakfast with nature in direct view, such as toucans, deers, iguanas etc having breakfast same time.

Large property - suffered from recent flooding when I was there. Saw a lot of interesting birds and other wild life on the property. The rooms were large - but the space was not well utilized. I had the impression that there was a lot of deferred maintenance that was overdue. Nonetheless, it was comfortable. The food was OK.

Superbe emplacement dans la jungle, la chambre était très sympa et l'hôtel dans son ensemble a beaucoup de charme. Petit déjeuner très bien. Les horaires pour les restos et le bar sont trop stricts, dommage. Dernière heure pour aller manger 19h, c'est trop tôt pour des européens ! Pas donné certes, mais vraiment agréable !

Magnifique lodge avec sa propre réserve naturelle. Chambre très propre et très grande. Seul point surprenant : il n'y a pas de télévision ! Un détail... Vue sur la rivière, très beau mais très bruyant. Accueil à l'image de la gentillesse des costariciens, serviable, au top. Je recommande à 100%

Je bent hier echt middenin het regenwoud. Wij hadden een kamer vlak bij de rivier. Wel een eindje lopen van het restaurant, maar je loopt overal over verhoogde en overdekte paden (wel zo fijn bij een stortbui). Vanuit het restaurant heb je zicht op de plek waar de vogels gevoerd worden. Wel opletten, want er zijn hier gifslangen; een keer moesten we zelfs even wachten voordat we naar onze kamer konden gaan, omdat er een jonge lanspuntslang (giftig en agressief) op het looppad lag. Goed ontbijt. De porties in het restaurant zijn erg groot.

Selva Verda is in a beautiful location on the Sarapiqui river, slightly further off the tourist trail but a true eco-lodge. Great place to stay to immerse yourself in the Costa Rican rainforest and spot wildlife. We spotted a lot within the lodge area. I would recommend the guided nature hike which took us further into the grounds of the lodge. The guide was very knowledgeable and went at a manageable pace for our group of mixed ages. The swimming pool was good. Rooms are functional and clean and some have great views. The food was slightly disappointing but the location and experience made the stay worthwhile.
